  • "This was a perfect weeks holiday."

The accomodation was great. It was a very wet week and the swimming pool and games room were well used. The Stables are spacious, comfortable, warm peaceful and I loved it. Location great conveniently near the main road and access to the island but feels away from it all with the fields and quiet, no road noise. I loved the very large kitchen table where we spent lots ot time socialising, enjoying meals and playing games. Then in the evenings lighting the log burner and all cosy in the comfortable lounge. I would recommend a holiday here and will return.

. don’t think we have ever stayed anywhere as nice. Property owners were great, v helpful , left a lovely welcome pack. Use of the lovely pool was an added bonus. Plenty warm enough even in December and we had a baby with us. I cannot praise this place or the owners enough. which was a massive relief after the last Sykes place we stayed in , earlier this year.

  • "What a fantastic holiday accommodation which had everything we needed and much much more."

We booked the Stables and Tack Room as we have a large family. We have gone away on holiday as a family for the last 14 years ( except COVID) and we can all say that this is the best place that we have stayed so far! Our grown up kids and grandkids all loved the pool and the games room! I loved the homely main kitchen with its huge table, cosy lounge and the bedrooms and bathrooms in both holiday accommodations were exceptionally comfortable and clean - so much space for everyone Diana was brilliant, very helpful and honestly nothing was to much trouble We never usually go back to the same accommodation twice but we will definitely be returning to the best place in Anglesey! Many thanks Diana from us all xx

There were 10 of us plus our dog, 6 adults and 4 children the youngest being only one. The swimming pool was much enjoyed, particularly by the children, and the games room was also popular with the adults. The property was very clean, beds comfortable and highly recommended.

  • "Facilities were great however during our stay we had an issue with the owners."

We were told the pool was available from 8-8 took our small children to use the pool only to be greeted by a man who had clearly had one too many and told we couldn’t use it as the owners were having a party. Another person then came in and told us we could use it but the original man then told our small children that they had to be quiet and keep it down. We then got into the pool but the owners and their friends were looking through the windows into the pool and made us feel very uncomfortable so we quickly got out and left. A few days after arriving home we were then sent a message saying they were charging us for damages. A stain on a mattress for a bed that was never slept on and a dirty blanket that also wasn’t slept on. Really out a dampener on the whole thing .

Thank you for your feedback however: guests have 'shared' use of the 'owners' pool and you had previously been in playing loud music and on the occasion you mention we were having a lunch party for my husband's birthday and my sons had been in the pool and the end doors were open on to the patio. You arrived to use the pool so my son got up to close the doors and I asked you to keep the noise down as I didn't want loud music playing. I am sorry if you thought we were rude. There are net curtains across the doors for privacy so we were not staring in at you as we couldn't see you. Once you had left I found the plastic integral soap dish in one of the showers broken, what looked like blusher powder all over a bedspread and one bed which had been stripped completely including the mattress protector which was odd as no other bed had been stripped completely. There was a huge stain on the mattress. Guests usually leave a note saying sorry it was an accident etc but you did not. I don't charge for accidental damage as written in the information folder left on the hall table in the property. I feel that you did not respect my property. Property Owner

  • "We needed premises within an easy distance to Zip World at Bethesda and it had to accommodate 9 adults and a 2 yr old which Brin Eira Stables appeared to do."

We booked the premises and before we made the journey we had a couple of enquiries which the owner Mrs Brooke kindly sorted out for us and answered our enquiries. The premises are easy to access once over the bridge and were only a 20 minute drive to Zip World. The stables are great as they are so spread out but all inside one building. There is a huge family kitchen that easily sits 10 with room for high chairs as well. There is a conservatory to the rear which leads out to a safe enclosed garden area for children to play in. A nice lounge with TV and room for everyone to watch big events as we were there during the coronation weekend. Bedrooms vary between both sides of the stables with just two bedrooms being up the small flight of stairs, those bedrooms being a large en suite double and a twin. Downstairs below those two bedrooms is another large double with a shower room, toilet and sink close by which can serve both the downstairs double and the upstairs twin. There is a further kitchen fully kitted out with oven, hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher on that side of the stables, together with a raised dining area and bar stool type seating. Beyond the large kitchen on the ground floor on the other side of the stables are two further bedrooms, one double and one twin. These both have access to a further shower room, toilet etc just the other side of the kitchen. So having experienced the main building there is then a further two buildings that offer amenities to guests, these being The Den which is the games room with TV, pool table which converts to a table tennis table and comfortable seating and finally the pool. The pool is just across the courtyard and easily accessed from the main building. It came in really handy as our 2yr old grandson is just getting more comfortable with being in the water and this was an added feature that we really took advantage of. There is a BBQ on the rear enclosed garden complete with fuel packs inside the conservatory. There are books galore to read, novels and local history and information books together with OS maps if you are planning to explore Anglesey during your stay. The railway station with the really long hard to say name is within an easy level 15 / 20 minute walk along well lit roads. The stables are quiet and relaxing considering you have only just left the A55 and you don’t even know it is there. All in all we had a brilliant weekend away with family and friends, everyone enjoyed the stay and the stables and we have already told Mrs Brooke that we cannot wait to stay again. Thanks for a great weekend and a lovely venue.

  • "Myself, my daughter and two grandsons were impressed by the property on arrival."

(July 2022) We gave it 5*s for being in immaculate condition, but the biggest bedroom had quite a musty smell, which needed liberal use of Febreze (not supplied) for a couple of days to dispel. The comfortable furnishings suit the character of the property, although one of its quirks is the slightly uneven flooring and various steps within the living areas. The main kitchen has lots of utensils and equipment, all in tip-top condition, and both kitchens are very modern. The wi-fi router (not password protected) is in the games room and while the signal is good in the main living areas, it does not extend to any of the bedrooms. The two bedrooms accessed through the little kitchen have dehumidifiers that need emptying every day, but the house didn’t feel cold; the boiler comes on several times a day leaving the towel rails scalding hot! While there are small shops locally, a large Tesco is only a five-minute drive away, along with other major retail stores. Unfortunately, for the second year running, we picked the wrong week for our holiday: miserable weather and gale winds meant we never used the BBQ, but the boys got lots of use out of the swimming pool and games room. Overall, it’s a super property in a good location to explore Anglesey and North Wales.

Complained to owner and Sykes but they just don’t care… Cottage is damp and smell so and on arrival it has dehumidifiers going that you have to empty and maintain yourselves, leaving clothes in wardrobe makes them smell… so many pieces of furniture broken, damaged, old and not as pictures! Whole place filthy dirty, oven a mess even found previous guests clothes in drawers, carpets and furniture caked in dog hairs, kettles broken, pans damaged, no arrival pack, broken pool table, pool Was too cold for baby, wifi abismal, owners partner pipes across after day one and said wifi was unexplainable it’s usually good and he’s not interested as it’s his wife’s business! , showers fit very small people, loose taps, loose toilet seats, attached to another property and parking is tight , they were allowed two vehicles max but had 3 all week making it right to manoeuvre..generally in very poor condition, and the owners do not care if you have issues, we tried to get some sort of resolution but now being ignored! This is supposed to be a luxury cottage for 10 with swimming pool and at over £2220 for a week you would expect a bit of luxury- unfortunately you don’t get what you expect … please be careful when booking or simply don’t do it, look elsewhere ….

Thank you for your feedback. It is unfortunate that you say you did not enjoy your week in my cottage. If it was really that bad you should have contacted me sooner. You did contact us about the wifi, we came round and checked it but it was out of our control and at that point you did not mention any of your other complaints. The wifi was working but not at the speeds it usually does. The rest of your complaints you decided to leave until after you left. I sent a comprehensive email to Menai holidays/Sykes having received your email. I will publish my response if necessary. I have never received texts in the manner that you sent to me before in such a threatening way. The last two reviews before you were 100 per cent positive. Property Owner

Unfortunately, normally the heating is turned off for a few hours during the middle of the day. As we were in the middle of the two storms at the time, the house became cold when the heating was turned off. However, when we asked for the heating not to be turned off, within an hour someone arrived and adjusted this in most of the house, to being on all the time. Otherwise no complaints.

The swimming pool was a big hit with everyone. Not much could be done to improve the facilities - maybe a hot tub in the garden, as the pool shuts at 8pm, and would be nice to relax in a hot tub once the children are safely tucked up in bed. The only negative point was one of the fridge freezers had broken down and the owner was awaiting delivery of a new one. There was a small counter top fridge to replace it. It would have been nice to know this before the holiday, as we had ordered a full grocery shop for 9 of us to be delivered on our first day, and we didn't have enough space for everything. Had we known, we would have split the shop into two deliveries. Great location for exploring Anglesey - we will definitely try and come back!

Steps from the hallway lead up into the first kitchen which is well-equipped with a double oven and electric hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven.

There’s also a breakfast bar that seats six - a morning cuppa with an old-fashioned paper is a must here. A door from the kitchen leads into a bright, good-sized sitting room with traditional beams on the ceiling.

Sofas surround a multi fuel log burning stove, making this a comforting and cosy room in the winter months.

A 43" Smart TV with Freeview, and DVD/CD players provide the entertainment. There is a conservatory up a few steps from the sitting room.

This room has comfy furniture and at night, with the fairy lights across the ceiling lit, it makes for an ideal relaxation room with good company and a glass of wine or a beer!

There is also a dining table and chairs, rattan seating, and a radiator for when it gets chilly.

Open the doors if you like and let the fresh air in, too.

The doors from this room open out into the garden.

Upstairs and to the right is a large king-sized bedroom with an ensuite with a bath and shower over, loo and wash hand basin.

Opposite this room is a small twin bedroom. In the L-shape, there is a further, large dining/kitchen space, a shower room and two further bedrooms.

That means space for the adults in the main house, too! There’s a large enclosed garden laid mainly to lawn with trees and shrubs, too.

Out here children can play happily and safely, and families can make use of the large charcoal BBQ.

There is farmland just over the wall so the bleating of sheep can often be heard!

This fab family holiday house, which sleeps ten, has plenty of space to enjoy so you won’t feel like you’re tripping over your fellow guests’ feet!

Enjoy the social space of the conservatory year-round, settle in front of the fire, or take a trip to the pool. That’s right - the owners of Bryn Eira Stables also offer the shared use of an indoor heated swimming pool throughout the year! The village has two pubs, a Spar, Co-Op, and a petrol garage, meaning you don’t have to stray far for the essentials!

If there are more than ten in your party you can also rent out The Tack Room (1008818) which sleeps 4 and is around the same courtyard. The beds will be made made up as advertised, if you would like a different bed configuration please contact Menai Holidays 7 days before your arrival.

About the location

LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLL

Menai Bridge 2 miles; Beaumaris 6 miles.

Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline. Nelson’s Monument can be easily reached on the banks of the Menai Straits, passing St Mary’s Church on the way. With several good pubs with restaurants, craft and gift shops and cafes, plus the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, there is plenty to entertain you all year round.
