Ty Cerrig makes a fantastic holiday home for families or groups of friends looking for an idyllic escape to the historic Isle of Angelesey.

A beautiful stone-built barn conversion sitting in the remote village of Llanddaniel, you can find all the amenities needed for a self-catered stay in nearby Llanfairpwllgwyngyll.

As you step under the timber-framed porch and into the hallway, kick off your boots before venturing into the beautiful farmhouse style kitchen, decorated with blue units and stylish wooden worktops, here you can prepare all your favourite dishes in no time with a wonderful range of appliances and utensils at hand, while the dining area at the other end of the room makes the perfect spot for quality time together with a board game or delicious dinner.

Move through into the contemporary-styled sitting room and light up the woodburning stove to bring a homely feel to the room as you unwind on the corner sofa beneath the characterful beams of the room.

Alongside the utility cupboard and a gleaming bathroom, the ground floor is also home to a marvellous super king-size bedroom, offering zip link features this can be made as two singles on request, this beautiful bedroom boasts an arched window letting you overlook the countryside as you unwind each evening.

The further two bedrooms sit on the first floor and consist of a king sized bed with an en-suite shower room and a twin which also has the zip link feature and option of being made to a super king on request, sporting rustic beams and velux windows creating a bright and airy setting for you to wake up in each morning.

Pour yourself a refreshing coffee in the morning and head out to the rear garden, with plenty of room to play on the lawned area or take shelter on the decked veranda, there's no better spot to begin each day.

The local area is extremely scenic and provides a plethora of wonderful walking and cycling routes, with the National Trust Plas Newydd House and Gardens being within easy reach for a great day trip, here you can find a waterfront mansion overlooking the stunning Snowdonia National Park, well-worth a visit in mainland Wales for its remarkable views at the summit of Mount Snowdon, accessed by foot, bike or even mountain railway!

For all of your local amenities head to the nearby village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, shortened from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch with the longest name in Europe, it offers easy access to the mainland, as well as a fantastic selection of shops for picking up a souvenir as well as pubs and eateries to while away the hours in.

Venture to historic Holyhead where you can catch a ferry to Ireland for the day, or explore the many beautiful beached dotted all around the island, with plenty of coastal walks too.

Menai Bridge 2 miles; Beaumaris 6 miles.

Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline. Nelson’s Monument can be easily reached on the banks of the Menai Straits, passing St Mary’s Church on the way. With several good pubs with restaurants, craft and gift shops and cafes, plus the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, there is plenty to entertain you all year round.
