The property

Enjoying sea views in the heart of Anglesey is this lovely, semi-detached cottage, 15 Maes Y Mor.

Situated opposite the docks of Holyhead and resting within easy reach of Anglesey's delights, 15 Maes Y Mor makes for the perfect holiday home for a family of six.

Upon entering the property, venture left to find yourself in a vibrant and welcoming sitting room, with a gas fire warming up the space, so you can cosy up on the sofa in front of the Smart TV after a long day out; the room is home to a vast selection of books, games and a vintage record player, providing you with abundant evening entertainment.

Wander along the corridor to find a beautifully decorated open-plan living space, with beautiful, mosaic titling adorning the floors, along with quirky furnishings filling the space.

Move across the space to the kitchen, where you will find a top-of-the-line range cooker surrounded by rustic, exposed brickwork, as well as an American-style fridge/freezer and Belfast sink; the kitchen additionally hosts an island counter that not only adds food preparation space but makes for a great spot to enjoy a coffee and chat.

When the designated chef has finished whipping up a nourishing meal, enjoy it at the spacious dining table, or savour it under the pergola in the back garden, as you soak up the sea breeze.

After dinner, settle down in front of the living space's Smart TV, as you curl up on one of the two rocking chairs with a glass of wine in hand.

When day turns to night, climb the stairs to discover three thoughtfully laid-out bedrooms that all feature tasteful colour schemes, iron bed frames and ample storage; choose between a king-size with sea views, a twin room and a single room that also benefits from views of the coast.

The bedrooms share a bathroom that is located close-by, where you can enjoy a moment of tranquillity whilst you soak amongst the bubbles.

The property additionally enjoys access to a side garden that has been landscaped with care, and features a patio area with seating, so you can sit out with a morning coffee as you take in the stunning vista.

A highlight of the property is that it is just a stone's throw away from everything you need, with a well-equipped convenience store and friendly pub located less than half a mile away, as well as the docks resting opposite the cottage, where you can board the ferry to Ireland for a day out in Dublin.

Holyhead hosts a wealth of activities to do, from the fascinating Holyhead Maritime Museum and Ucheldre Centre, to the Empire Cinema and close-by Holyhead Breakwater Country Park.

Make the most of the Isle of Anglesey, and traverse the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path, where you can spot the wonders of the South Stack Lighthouse, Elin's Tower and The Range nature reserve along the way.

Why not relish a relaxing day at the beach and venture to Trearddur Bay, where you can catch the sun's rays from the village's soft sands as the kids splash about in the waters, rent a bike from the Blue Chameleon and embark on an idyllic cycle along the coast, or beachcombe along Porth Diana Beach and Porth Castell?

There is so much more to see in this area and the nearby train station can help you visit the wider area's sights with ease, including the settlements of Valley, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll and Rhosneigr; or continue to the mainland where the delights of Bangor and Snowdonia National Park await.

About the location

HOLYHEAD

Trearddur Bay 3 miles.

The bustling town of Holyhead rests on the North West coast of the Isle of Anglesey, the largest town on the island and perhaps known best for being the main ferry port to Ireland. Steeped in history, the town boasts the remains of Roman town walls and forts, medieval burial chambers and stone village foundations. Explore the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, which offers designated walks through the grounds. The park is full of interesting wildlife, most notably the seals who visit the Holyhead coast, and outlines the amazing construction of the world's longest breakwater, some 1.8 miles, which today protects the harbour. Visit the colourful marina with its yachts and tall ships, or the town's maritime museum, with its tales of 100 shipwrecks in the vicinity. Day trips to Ireland can be enjoyed easily from here, with Dublin just 90 minutes away on the fast ferry. With spectacular cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, golden sandy beaches at the award winning Trearddur Bay and the Snowdonia National Park just a 20 minute drive away, this is a superb holiday location, at any time of the year.
