  • "I stay in Holyhead about 6-7 times a year and have stayed in many different places."

This one was one of the best. A lot of thought has gone into making the house comfortable, everything you could have needed was there even an air fryer and alexa. The house is spotless and it was nice to have comfortable fabric sofas in the living room and not the usual plastic/leather ones you find in most rentals. The conservatory and garden are lovely and would be nice to sit in on a nice summers day.

Thank you for visiting Glasfryn and it’s lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay your feedback is appreciated Property Owner

  • "The property is well maintained and very clean."

The beds are comfortable and there are lots of equipment in the kitchen. I didn't realise how much grey was used in decorating from the photos, it's everywhere. Easy check in/out process. The amount of recycling is a bit confusing so a little guide maybe helpful and no spare bin bags were left which is quite difficult if you have a large group. Also I received a text message at 9pm on our second night, from the owner; saying I could not charge my car via a 3 pin plug as it was not PAT tested, I was a bit confused but stopped charging. I then got an email at 10am the next day from Sykes saying the owner had called saying they were concerned about me charging as there insurance doesn't cover this. I have never had this problem at multiple other holiday rentals I have stayed at. None of this is in the terms and conditions when I looked prior to arrival. I spoke to Sykes who were generally unhelpful. I explained that not all the devices people bring will be PAT tested i.e. phone chargers etc. Which then they didn't adequately respond to. Sykes answer was book a place which dedicated ev charging next time, unfortunately there aren't many available in the summer holidays in Anglesey. Overall quite a nice place to stay, tainted by Sykes poor customer service and having to spend time using public chargers when this could have been easily done while in the house.

Thankyou for visiting Glasfryn your feedback is appreciated. Sykes have now listed the property as not having EV charging supplied at the property. This is something we hope to provide in the future with professional fitted EV charging port outside the property . All previous guests with EV have always used the facilities in the area and as a small business we very much appreciate their consideration to the cost of the electricity. Your comments have been noted Thankyou Sharon Property Owner

Everything needed has been provided. Comfortable beds and seating and lots of kitchen equipment. The parking space is helpful and the proximity to Holyhead centre makes it a great location. The well stocked garden is lovely. Just two points...there was no empty kitchen cupboard for storing food and the directions to the house incorrectly stated that the house was on the right side of the road, when it is on the left side. This had us driving up and down a few times before we could find it. Please review the directions sent out to future guests.

Thank you for your feedback The directions to the property have now been updated with Sykes I have arranged the cupboards in the kitchen to provide space for any dry foods Thank you once again Property Owner

All the furnishings were very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything that you could possibly need, it even had a soup blender we have never seen that before in any of the cottages that we have rented. Sharon, the owner was very helpful with any enquiries that we had. The location even though on a main road was very quiet and we did not hear any noise at night. We would definitely recommend this property and we certainly hope to return at some point in the future.

Our stay coincided with a spell of very cold weather, but we managed to keep warm enough, though the absence of a door to the conservatory meant that the kitchen could be a bit chilly! The accommodation was exactly as described, and looked every bit as immaculate and welcoming as the photos suggested. We were not left wanting for anything during our stay - the kitchen came with every cooking tool imaginable, there were spare cushions, and the conservatory even had a Dyson heater/fan. We chose this cottage based on its convenient location: close to nature (Breakwater Park and South Stack), whilst not far from beaches, and also near Holyhead for the train station. There was also a small general store a minute's walk away which was useful. All in all, it gave us a fantastic base from which to explore the island. The property

Glasfryn is a well-appointed, detached property resting amidst the excitement of the port town of Holyhead, perfectly positioned for enjoying the delights of the North West coast of the Isle of Anglesey.

With its exceptional location, close to the coast and an array of things to do, Glasfryn is suited for families and friends, seeking a base in which to enjoy a fun-filled holiday.

Step into the property and discover the sitting room, where you can flick on the gas fire to allow a gentle warmth to fill the room as you kick back on the inviting seating arrangement and browse the channels of the Smart TV or to simply enjoy the company of your loved ones.

Return to the light-filled hallway and head to the rear of the property to the compact, yet well-equipped kitchen, home to an electric oven, grill, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, providing everything you will need for an excellent self-catered stay.

From here, a doorway takes you into the dining room, where you can relish in a home-cooked dish or a tasty takeaway, whilst admiring the overlooking views of the garden.

Concluding the ground floor of the dwelling is a conservatory, offering a peaceful spot for you to delve into a good book or to savour the sunshine with a cup of tea on a balmy afternoon.

Head up the staircase as the evening draws to a close to find your sleeping spots, the master suite boasts a plush double bed, whilst bedroom two boasts twin beds and the final bedroom houses a single bed with a good wardrobe storage.

To the exterior, there is private off-road parking and a rear garden, where you can look forward to enjoying a spot of alfresco dining on the patio.

A short stroll from the cottage will bring you to the plethora of places to eat and drink in Holyhead, ranging from cosy cafés, takeaway options and fine dining restaurants, such as the Harbourfront Bistro, where you can soak up the stunning views as you sample the great seafood menu.

Brush up on the town’s history by visiting St Cybi’s Church, which was founded in 550AD and is surrounded by the original fort wall, where you can also get a good view across the port and of Skinner's monument on Alltran rock.

Avid ramblers can don their walking boots and enjoy the network of coastal walks within the Breakwater Country Park, a spot littered with interesting wildlife, most notably the seals who visit the Holyhead coast.

Alternatively, explore the rest of the coastline by following the coastal path, exploring Holyhead mountain and stopping off at one of the many golden beaches, including Trearddur Bay Beach, where you can look forward lazing on the shoreline or trying your hand at a range of watersports.

If you want to venture further afield, hop on board the fast ferry from the port and reach Dublin within 90-minutes or take the car to the mainland to explore the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, home to even more walking opportunities, mountain biking and other outdoor pursuits.

Glasfryn promises to be a wonderful getaway for the whole family.

About the location

HOLYHEAD

Trearddur Bay 3 miles.

The bustling town of Holyhead rests on the North West coast of the Isle of Anglesey, the largest town on the island and perhaps known best for being the main ferry port to Ireland. Steeped in history, the town boasts the remains of Roman town walls and forts, medieval burial chambers and stone village foundations. Explore the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, which offers designated walks through the grounds. The park is full of interesting wildlife, most notably the seals who visit the Holyhead coast, and outlines the amazing construction of the world's longest breakwater, some 1.8 miles, which today protects the harbour. Visit the colourful marina with its yachts and tall ships, or the town's maritime museum, with its tales of 100 shipwrecks in the vicinity. Day trips to Ireland can be enjoyed easily from here, with Dublin just 90 minutes away on the fast ferry. With spectacular cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, golden sandy beaches at the award winning Trearddur Bay and the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park just a 20 minute drive away, this is a superb holiday location, at any time of the year.
