  • "This property is great in all aspects except one - the showers are worse than showering in drizzle rain and could do with being replaced."

  • "The house was lovely: beautiful to look at, comfy beds, great location, friendly (and accessible-by-phone) owners."

There were annoying snags, so I had to call once, and I left a list, which I hope they will respond to.

  • "The house was great in terms of location and comfort (10 minutes walk to the beach) It was well equipped, although a washing machine would have been useful, and it shows one in the photos."

All in all, a good stay.

  • "We had a lovely week at Rumson House and made the most of its close proximity to Trearddur beach."

The children enjoyed playing in the games room which was well equipped, although there wasn’t much room to move around the table tennis area. I loved sitting in the warm conservatory and liked the additional nautical touches since our last visit 5 years ago. The kitchen is lovely and bright but I was expecting to have use of a washing machine (as it was shown in the pictures) which would have been useful for a family on a week long stay. Access to Rumson via the private road is tricky due to its narrowness and turning around is very awkward. Perhaps if the higher part of the drive could be extended towards the garage it would make turning with 2 cars easier? My sister left her coat at the house on the morning we left and this was kindly returned to her at no cost. We loved our Anglesey holiday and would like to return in the future, however the prices advertised for Summer 2022 are too high in my opinion (around £2,000). I think up to £1,500 is more reasonable. Thank you.

  • "Rumson house definitely exceeded our expectations."

It's location is great, only a short walk to the beach and close to a selection of good restaurants. The accommodation provided everything we needed, is very clean and spacious. In particular, the games room in the garage is a brilliant unique feature which was well used. We would highly recommend this property and would book it again.

  • "It was perfect."

Great location next to the beach which had a great restaurant and ice cream shop. All the key spots were nearby, supermarkets were only a few minutes away by car. The house was wonderful. Loved the sea theme and the decor. Nice large family table. We loved the conservatory extension of the living room. And the games room was a huge plus! To improve on, we just wished there was a washing machine, otherwise, will bring extra clothes next time. Other than that we had a perfect stay!!! Hopefully we can come back again!

  • "The cottage had a room that was not usable due to rising damp."

This was reported and a Sykes representative did phone us to discuss. We sent pictures of the damp and the representative said they would contact us to follow up once back from holiday. We have back for nearly a week now and still have not been contacted by Sykes to follow up. No response to email with pictures of damp attached. On reflection, I do not think we would have been the first people to report this problem to Sykes. The level of damp meant it would have been a long term thing, not a recent occurrence. I am disappointed that The damp was not mentioned by the vendor or by Sykes prior to the holiday.

Thank you for your feedback. We have found the source of the damp and it was a leak coming from the shower. We have now rectified this and it will no longer be an issue to our guests. We have redecorated the room and lay down new laminate flooring. We hope to welcome you back in the near future. Thank you. Property Owner

Very close to the beach, 7 minutes walk in fact. We had a great holiday in Trearddur Bay. The house was very comfortable, my only criticism would be the towels provided were completely threadbare. Please renew them!!!! This is only a small criticism as we had a fabulous time.

  • "It was a nice house , with a few problems."

Radiator in conservatory was broken so quite cold in that part. Sink blocked and plumber didn’t turn up at time we were told. Bedroom handle broken which meant that if the door was shut could only open from outside. Key lock safe was very hard to close. No information pack and no nice little touches like welcome pack. Overall a nice house but needs some things doing.

It is a very comfortable house, spotlessly clean, with plenty of space for a large group. We made good use of the real fire and the games room. The house is just a short walk from the fabulous beach. Would definitely go again.
