  • “The Beach House in Trearddur Bay ...”

The Beach House in Trearddur Bay was the perfect location for our family holiday. There were 9 of us in our group - 6 adults and 3 children - and everyone had a fantastic time. The Beach House in Trearddur Bay was the perfect location for our family holiday. There were 9 of us in our group - 6 adults and 3 children - and everyone had a fantastic time. The cottage was absolutely brilliant in every way - loads of space, 4 beautiful bedrooms (the main one had an ensuite shower room) plus two further bathrooms one which included a bath as well as a shower which was great for the children. which is so useful when you are a large group. The cottage was really well equipped, particularly the kitchen, and the hot tub was great fun. There was also a utility room which had a large larder fridge (this was in addition to the fridge and freezer in the kitchen itself) so there was plenty of room to store food items. The kitchen/diner with the family/play room at the back of the house was a fantastic space as it meant everyone could be together and the children just loved the playroom with its well stocked bookcase of books, CD's, DVD's, games and toys plus the wall mounted TV. The large lounge at the front of the property also has a large wall mounted TV and had plenty of seating for everyone. This was a lovely place for the adults to relax in the evenings and the lounge also has bi-folding doors which open onto a beautiful veranda that overlooks the bay which is the perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down in the evenings. The Beach House is great for all ages as the location is perfect with the sea and beach just across the road and the house more than met our expectations for comfort, cleanliness, facilities and relaxation so I would highly recommend it. I am sure we will be booking again in the future and one really nice touch was that the owners rang us on our arrival to ensure that we were happy with the house and had everything we needed.

Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of Holy Island. It’s truly beautiful - a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine sandy beaches (European Blue Flag). Watersports, bathing, sailing and windsurfing are the main activities in the summer months and golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course. It’s a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve and lots of rock pools and cliff top walks to explore. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, an interesting harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. The Maritime Museum in Holyhead has an excellent cafe and the beautiful Holyhead Breakwater Country Park has walks for you to enjoy to both South and North Stack. Further afield there is the stunning Red Wharf Bay with its excellent beach and Beaumaris with its town and castle. A great location with plenty to see and do!
