  • "It’s a lovely place for a family holiday."

Ample facilities, great communal space and wonderful views. Just being picky, the TV controls could do with improving and instructions were not great, but a minor point

  • "We stayed here over the Easter holiday."

There were two families so we were a bit worried about the room but there was plenty of it. The views out of the top windows of snowdon are stunning. It was in a great location to get to most places we wanted to go to. We will definitely be going back.

  • "Fantastic large cottage with every facility needed with the added bonus of beautiful scenery."

We were a party of 8 friends and 3 dogs, we had plenty of room and privacy. All of our group were happy with the accomodation and we will pay a return visit. Can highly recommend for large groups and families.

  • "The Chapel is a lovely place to stay, very spacious and well equipped."

The views are beautiful and the location is perfect for exploring the area. We had a fantastic active family holiday. If I could give some feedback that could improve the stay for others, I would suggest more of a thorough clean in between guests. Their were dogs hairs on everything which is not very nice and unfortunately gave some of our guest asthma and allergy issues. Also there was a terrible smell of sick in the main bedroom! The little upstairs nook is so cute but quite dusty and dirty. The TV selection is very outdated and the note about charging guests for streaming a film needs to be displayed clearly. A little suggestion would be a change of the blankets in between guests, again cause of the dog hairs. Some salt and pepper in the cupboard. Thank you for hosting us.

  • "This property is wonderful."

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay. We will be back, and that speaks for itself. We had a couple of issues, and called them in. We had a visit same day from an engineer, and the issues were rectified. Fantastic service. The views were amazing. The open plan living area was brilliant. The Pups loved it. Thank you Sykes, and thanks to the owners. Steve and Angela..... regular Sykes customer.

Very clean and tidy with outstanding living space. Lots to do and see nearby. Massive collection of DVDs and board games for nights in. We had a fantastic week here with our dogs and hope to come back .

  • "As always this was a wonderful and comfortable place to stay, so no real complaints."

The pump went during our stay due to a stone being washed in but Donna sorted this out very quickly so top marks to her and the repair guys. Only complaint is the complexity of the digital cooker hob top, took four of us to work out how to use it and we could find no instructions in the folder. Please put laminated instructions out for how you operate it, it drove us round the bend! Also the little island station would be much for useful put back in the kitchen area. Apart from that everything was perfect.

Some plasterwork repairs, fence repairs externally ( a gate missing) and redecoration and updated bedding. Showers were great. Good kitchen facilities.

On a whole, it was clean and tidy. All facilities in working condition. Parking could have been explained as we only just managed to fit three cars in the spaces provided. Thank you for our stay!

  • "We stayed here over the Xmas period with the whole family."

When we walked into the property on the ground floor and initially thought it’s in need of a little modernisation. The first floor is fairly modern with a Lovely open plan living and dining area thats great for socialising with friends and family. A major negative is that the main largest bathroom that has a shower and bath In, we could not use as there are 3 large church style Clear glass windows With no blinds or curtains. There is a field full of sheep right outside the window which had a farmer hard at work. He could clearly see me and I could clearly see him. Not the greatest unless you want to be peeped on. I could also see the road and other houses. Overall enjoyed the stay and location. Just a shame about the privacy issues.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. I am sorry for the privacy issue in one of the bathrooms. The windows have recently been replaced and we had not realised that the blinds had not been put back. This has now been addressed. Property Owner

The pink walls are not very nice, a less gaudy colour would make the place look better. Also there is a big patch of red paint on one wall (an unfinished project?) The knives desperately need sharpening, they were so dull I ended up using the bread knife to cut the beef roast. A larger kitchen bin would be nice and

  • "Very nice place with all the stuff and space we needed (there were 6 of us including a baby & a young child) & the location is great as a base for discovering the area, only slight niggle was that the main bedroom was difficult to heat up, probably because it is so big ( the size is a good thing)."

Not a problem for those of us who prefer cooler rooms, but others werent so keen. Didnt spoil the stay though.

  • "Clean and tidy with a wow factor."

I'd chosen the en-suite bedroom (booker's perks) but found the double mattress uncomfortable - I guess it gets the most use! So I slept on the single bed for the remaining two nights, more comfy but not what I'd expected to have to do.

  • "Positive: Excellent location, fabulous view, good space, clean."

Negative: Wi-Fi was not available on the first 3 days and last day of stay (not enough data booked), owner and keeper were out of reach during that period.

  • "The cottage was in a superb location for Snowdonia and its many attractions."

We enjoyed watching the horse, sheep and clouds from the living room windows. The cottage was well equipped with everything you could need for 8 people and for all weather. However, there were some aspects where the cottage seemed tired and could be improved upon, such as lighting and mattresses. We appreciated that the owners were probably working their way through updating as the bathrooms were all good. We could not find the house manual with all the appliance booklets, and that would have been useful.

  • "Everything there that was needed."

Good quality furniture. Lovely views. Would have liked a bit more outside space for the children but Chapels don't usually come with gardens. Shed key was missing when we arrived but as the weather wasn't brilliant we didn't need the BBQ or the outside chairs.

About the location

DINORWIG

Llanberis 5.4 miles; Caernarfon 9.2 miles; Bangor 9.5 miles.

The village of Dinorwig, overlooks Llanberis, which is approximately 5 miles by road. On the border of the Snowdonia National Park, it is an ideal base to explore the Park. The Llanberis Railway runs nearby along the banks of Lake Padarn, whilst the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle are 2 miles away, or visit Ceunant Mawr, a cascading waterfall just outside Llanberis. Local walks lead to the Marchlyn Mawr Reservoir on the northern slopes of Elidir Fawr. Llanberis is 4 miles away and is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is the outdoor hub of the area, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26 mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. On the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd. The Isle of Angelsey and the North Wales coastline, both with a magnificent selection of beaches, are within easy touring distance.
