Using floor wipes is not very effective.I understand space is at a premium ,but a small shed with an Mop/bucket and for internal use would be a help. Details on refuse collection would help , On our arrival some of the crockery was dirty with food waste, not much but it was there. Still had a fantastic stay location second to None

Stunning views of the Snowdonia mountains across fields surrounding the 'Bwthyn' (small cottage) which can be seen from room with patio doors open. No traffic noise except for occasional car/tractor on nearby country road. Ideal location to visit Plas Newydd (National Trust) and the stunning Newborough Beach/Llanddwyn Isand.

  • "The cottage was just outside a lovely village with spectacular views."

The online photographs do not represent it's current state. The cottage was smaller than expected and in need of some upgrading, the option of singles or double bed but not explained that pushing the singles together was the double which resulted in restricting access to the wardrobe. The bathroom was adequate. The living/dining area was small but functional providing TV and broadband, although the leather reclining settee had been replaced with a older type cloth 2 seater, the dining chairs needed attention joints opening on both chairs. The pans were fine but all the other frying pan roasting tins etc: were not in good condition(some not clean and non stick coating worn, resulting in us buying basic items). The plates were too big to warm in microwave and the old plated cutlery had seen better days and were tarnished leaving an unpleasant taste in your mouth. The iron needs replacing leaks water, does not get warm and the mop and bucket left outside were filthy. We left the cottage 3 days early citing family commitments but really disappointed and feeling our time would be better at home. In this cottages current state I could not recommend it and feel let down by your service.

Thank you for taking time to review the cottage, we are extremely sorry that you feel let down.Pity you did not mention your disappointments on the visits you received and also in your phone call as I am sure we could have helped with your issues immediately. The zip and link purposefully bed not two singles pushed together which was bought on Sykes recommendation does form a king size bed but, results in smaller bedroom space. The mop and bucket are for outside use only and certainly not for guest use.Unfortunately the leather settee had to be quickly replaced as a dog of another customer staying there caused damage to the settee and on reflection we should have pursued for the customer to take responsibility for our loss. We were seeing the Sterephonics at parc menai. Sadly it was cancelled. The views from the cottage are totally awesome. All we can say is that it was a peaceful weekend away, we would highly recommend this holiday cottage as a must visit for again.

Everything was sorted quickly and efficiently and the cottage was ready for us the following day. We had a wonderful break - the cottage was brilliant, furnished with everything we could need, clean, tidy and spot on. The view across to Snowdonia was breathtaking. Anglesey is a wonderful location, lots to see and do, miles of beautiful walks. We started the week feeling stressed and disappointed we couldn’t get to Portugal, but ended our week feeling relaxed, refreshed and rested. Thank you!

We had a fantastic week. The cottage is small and compact but is perfect for two people. It's ideally situated to explore all of Anglesey and surrounding areas. Directly outside the patio doors is a wonderful view of sheep in the field and beyond a stunning view of Snowdonia. What more could you ask for! We had a lovely chat with Mr Williams the owner who gave us some tips about the area. We booked a Ribride trip on Velocity, a speedboat that takes you up and down the Menai straights at breakneck speed. We had an extra treat as there were dolphins playing in the water that day which we were told was quite rare! Newborough forest and beach is worth a look, we saw two seals just off the shore. We would definitely stay there again. It was brilliant!

  • "Upon arrival at the bungalow, I was shocked to see how small it actually was."

I knew it was going to be a one bedroom open plan kitchen and living room but the pictures on your site makes it look much bigger than it is. The bed is way too big for that bedroom, you can't even open the wardrobe doors as there isn't enough room. Attempting to use the toilet in the middle of the night was hard work as there is no room around the bed and being half asleep you walk into the wall. On my first day, I was shocked to see crumbs on the table in the living room area and dust up the sides of the bed on the floor. I had to clean the floor and the table which is crazy as the last person should have checked out at 10am and I arrived at 3.30pm, that's 5 and a half hours for someone to clean the place. The sofa had a blanket over the headrest and it slipped down at one point. It was covering two large wear marks when someone's head had been on either side. A new sofa is definitely needed as it's seen much better days. Having said all of this, the surrounding area is beautiful and the views are stunning, it's just a shame that the above issues let it down.

  • "Directions given by owner not clear."

Key was in a key safe by the door, but the key was for the patio doors on another side of the property, but there was no indication of this so at first I thought there was something wrong with the door. Also there was no contact number or address if I needed to contact the owner in an emergency also most cottags have a list of local numbers i.e. doctors, vets local amenities etc. but this one did not.. My sat nav did not take me to the correct property so there should be some warning of this in the instructions. **** Owner's Response **** Thank you very much for your feedback. We apologize for the issues you had with the directions, this was a Sykes error, but has now been amended. however we realize that sometimes the satnav can be misleading. Please accept our apologies for the lack of a list of local telephone numbers. I have now included this information for future guests. I hope that despite the initial issues, you had a lovely time in my cottage

We enjoyed long walks on the beaches, the woods, so much to see and do , we had a great time. • "We had a very good holiday and were very pleased with our holiday."

I would issue a warning about the height of the main exiting door - I cracked my head until I learned! Also we were told that sheets and towels were not provided and so took those items - then found that they were in fact supplied. I took out insurance since this was a 'dog friendly' cottage and we had a young dog with us. I assumed that the insurance would cover damage caused by the dog but on reading the terms discover that it doesn't - I accept that I am to blame for not reading the terms before I took out the insurance, but think that Sykes should investigate a policy covering damage caused by pets. But the cottage was lovely and the owners were really welcoming and helpful.
