Even having Christmas themed crockery! Thank you. The house was warm and cosy even though the weather was pretty bad with ferocious winds! The furniture in the lounge really is pretty uncomfortable. However we were aware that it is to be changed in this Winters Maintenance/replacement schedule as mentioned in a previous renters review/comment on the website before we booked. So it certainly didn't spoil our holiday. The location of Ty Mawr is stunning and we already want to return!

Thank you for your feedback, so glad you enjoyed the house. I will look into the living room furniture again I do wish to retain the cottage style and do not wish to have anything too big. Hope to see you again and best wishes for 2024. Property Owner

  • "Ty Mawr is a gorgeous cottage, set in a stunning location."

It's ideal to get around Anglesey and without having to drive down a dirt track for miles. The house is well equipped with lovely crockery to use in the ideal kitchen/dining room. The beds are really comfortable and there are more than enough bathrooms. The only negatives we had were that the suite in the lounge is quite small and not too comfortable. The garden furniture could be updated and an outdoor light at the front of the house would be appreciated. As it happens we always take a string of outdoor lights with us and it does make a difference especially when you are trying to get to the bench/table to look up at the stars. Great property and very dog friendly.

Thank you for your feedback and glad that you enjoyed the house. An outdoor light has now be installed and the living room is going to be changed in this winter maintenance as planned. I do rather like the older style garden furniture for the farmhouse. Best wishes and a warm welcome anytime. Property Owner

The property was excellent with spectacular views. The dog secure garden meant we didn't have to worry about our four legged friend doing a Houdini. The owner was absolutely lovely. She phoned the week before to let us know where the supermarket, petrol station etc were and also to find out if we had any questions. The owner was happy to meet us at the cottage to show us around or equally happy for us to collect the key from the key box; we opted for the second. The property was clean and the facilities excellent. This is a great property that is located well not only for exploring Anglesey but also North Wales. Thank you so much.

The secure garden was perfect for both our dogs and grandchildren and we spent some quality time playing games outside. It was well furnished with all the facilities you needed, the 3 toilets were great when sharing the house with 3 girls! The shop is only a short drive away and very well stocked. The house is well situated for discovering the whole island, which we did. We will definitely consider it on top of a list for booking again.

Exceptionally clean, comfortable and welcoming. The views are outstandingly beautiful and the garden big and totally secure for dogs. TY MAWR is perfectly secluded and private; with only bird song breaking the silence. The owner is an adorable lady and welcomed us to the property personally, leaving much appreciated goodies, including milk. I would not hesitate in recommending the cottage to friends and family. Indeed in the comments book provided - many visitors have returned many times and like us adored their stay. A first class holiday in a first class property.

The beds are very comfortable! The setting is so tranquil, very peaceful and the views of Snowdonia are stunning. I didn’t want to leave. We saw a few birds of prey flying over the garden and surrounding fields. The garden was perfect for our 2 dogs, they thoroughly enjoyed running around the garden, and laying in the sun, it was perfect for them. The house was very, clean and the secure garden was well maintained. The house was well equipped and had almost everything required (loo brushes would be e good addition). The owner telephoned in advance, was very obliging about the bed configuration we asked for and popped in during our stay to check everything was OK. My only negative comment, and it is a personal one, is that the suite in the living room has quite shallow seats which didn't make them the most comfortable but that is a personal viewpoint, not a criticism. We would happily return to Ty Mawr and recommend it to others.

The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed and all beds were very comfy. The owner (Mrs. Jones) welcomed us shortly after our arrival to ensure we had everything we needed and, as our stay was over Christmas, she had beautifully decorated every room and also left us a bottle of champagne to celebrate the festive season !! The garden is reasonably secure for dogs and the driveway leading up to the property is long enough to stretch their legs (on a lead of course) and it’s also easy to walk into and around the village. Lots of beaches are within easy reach …. Newborough Forest, Llanddwyn Beach, Benllech Beach, Lligwy Beach are all within 25 minutes drive …. and the towns of Beaumaris, Llangefni and Llanfair PG are very easily reached too. We have stayed in 7 or 8 different Sykes properties over the past few years and Ty Mawr is definitely in the top couple for location & facilities, we can definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet & peaceful place to stay.

  • "AMAZING! The house itself is way better than the advert might make you think."

We had high expectations, and were still impressed. Very secluded and quiet. Not a neighbour in sight. Sheep and bunnies abound. Wonderful views from all windows. Thanks to the great directions and clear instructions provided we had no problem finding the place and getting the key, even in the dark. Although I should point out that it would be wise to bring a torch, as when it gets dark here, it gets REALLY dark :). The owners checked in with us before we set out, to see if we had any questions. Then again just after arrival. They were quick to answer the single query I had - very responsive without being intrusive - perfect. There is so much to do and see in the area. But honestly, I could come back and spend a week just sitting in the garden, enjoying the peace. Despite the seclusion, you're not out in the wilderness - a few minutes drive gets you to a convenience store, and a few more will land you at a big supermarket. PERFECT for a holiday with the dogs! They loved doing zoomies in the spacious garden, and there's lots for them to enjoy nearby - including epic runs on the beaches. The house is very welcoming for your four-legged family members, they even get their own place-mat and water-bowl. We'll be back - which should tell you all you need to know.

A nice but compact house that I would not describe as spacious for a family of 4. Practical kitchen/diner, comfortable beds and bedrooms with a super panorama from each. And an enclosed garden that the kids and dog enjoyed. But the house has a serious damp problem with noticeable and large damp patches in each of the downstars rooms - paricularly the living room, where there was an accompanying smell. There is no tumble dryer, so no way of properly drying clothes in the absence of warm sun, when the washing line can be used. Give the weather this summer, this presented a problem. A good size bath upstairs (but impractical taps) and a decent shower downstairs, but I had to clean it on first use as the filter was blocked up with (other peoples') hair. The owners called me at home the night before we travelled, which was a nice touch, as was the bottle of wine (a nice one) and welshcakes. But this generosity did not extend to the consumables, with no spare (i.e. additional) toilet or kitchen roll, a single capsule for the dishwasher and washing machine and a matchbox with two matches in. Perhaps fair enough, but I thought a bit much since the cottage cost me over £1,600 for a week's stay - admittedly at the height of the summer and pandemic 'staycation'.

Amazing views from the garden. Clean, comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Ideal location which was very peaceful and quiet. Loved our daily visits from the young rabbits. Watching wildlife from the garden was just up our street with Buzzard, great spotted woodpecker, red kite, goldfinch, great tit, blackbird, chaffinch, swallow, bat's and a visit from a hedgehog. Milk, wine and welsh cakes waiting for us on arrival. I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you for an amazing week.

  • "If seclusion, privacy, gorgeous views and peace are not your favourite things then this is not the house for you."

The house was clean, comfortable and been converted as best possible for modern living. Previous guest feedback slated the en-suite. It is small but supplies everything you require in an en-suite. The family bathroom is large and bright and a shower is also available downstairs. The track to the property was also an issue for a previous guest but we drove our car easily and the Tesco delivery van also had no issue. However, the owners have developed a new access road which you could drive a “Chelsea taxi” on. For dog owners - the garden is walled on three sides. There is a four barred wooden fence at the bottom that small dogs could go through. However, there is a thick hedge just behind the fence which should deter most dogs. There are also rabbits visiting the garden, which added pleasure to our visit. Mr and Mrs Jones are a lovely couple who are there if you need them. We had a tiny issue and Mr Jones was there within 20 minute. We have never stayed at the same holiday property twice but we would return to Ty Mawr in a heartbeat. Cymru am byth ❤️

Thank you for taking time to review Ty Mawr and giving me the opportunity to apologise for the lack of Wi-Fi. I am complaining to BT as I pay extra to be connected at all times so I am also very disappointed with the service but, unfortunately BT's poor service was beyond my control. As stated in other reviews, the garden is superb, large and has spectacular views towards Snowdon. Our terrier enjoyed the safe space although very small escape prone dogs would be able to get out at the front fence. The rest is stone walled. The property is surrounded by fields and is secluded. The kitchen is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. Lovely big selection of crockery. Plenty of showers and a bath. Washing line, ironing board and iron and pegs. We were so pleased to find the property to be so clean, as we have been self catering for years, and the standard was the highest. Lovely welcoming touches from Mrs Jones with flowers, bottle of sparkly and milk in fridge together with start up tea bags. Tesco delivered. If you rely on Satnav you might find a problem locating the property. Similarly, we would advise a daylight arrival as the track is somewhat anonymous! However, it has to be said that we did find it without too much difficulty. Well worth it. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your splendid home.
