  • "2nd time in this lovely well presented property."

Very high standard of cleanliness. Well equipped kitchen.Very comfy beds maybe the pillows could be updated quite thin (and no pillow protectors which I found surprising.) Thank you for welcome pack appreciated. Would not hesitate to book again.

  • "What an absolute gem of a cottage."

We explored the whole of the island, the cottage was a brilliant central spot. The cottage itself was clean tidy and warm, the pooches absolutely loved the open plan garden and didn’t once try to get in the neighbours. The beds are so comfortable and plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes. Love the open plan aspect of the cottage. Not one single complaint. Carl and Steph perfect hosts. Thank you for our stay and we will certainly be booking again.

It was immaculately clean, very well equipped and quite literally a home from home. It's a very peaceful setting, the garden and property are well maintained and it's in the perfect location for exploring the Isle of Angelsey as well as North Wales. We loved very minute of our holiday and won't hesitate to re-book in the future.

The only worry for us was the open garden, which was clearly stated in the information, but a long lead solved that problem. Lovely quiet private little cul de sac of bungalows in a really good location for exploring. A huge thank you to Carl the owner for coming to our rescue with the charger cable for the car really grateful. We would definitely book again and recommend to anyone.

Grass needed cutting....our dachshunds only have little legs

Thanks Kathryn for your positive feedback, the grass is cut every 2 weeks and was cut the day after your departure. Property Owner

Two bedrooms, both en suite was perfect for three us. Lovely garden with outdoor seating, which catches the evening sun. Well placed for touring the south of Anglesey; visits to Bangor and Caernarfon on the mainland and NT Plas Newydd, which is a few minutes’ drive away. Very sad to leave and hoping we can return. Many thanks for the kind messages, Carl and Steph.

Loved the decor and the beds were super comfy. Well equiped kitchen but maybe a bit more microwave plastics would be useful? but I used my own plastic tubs with food i had brought from home. Owners were very responsive to text message and sorted small issue on arrival very well thank you. Garden loverly though not fenced for dogs which I knew in advance as whole estate is open plan. Also very dark after dusk great for sky gazing. Good instruction and info books. Loved our stay here.

Hi Phillippa nice to get some wonderful feedback, of an evening there is no light pollution so gazing at the stars is something else. Thanks for your booking hope to see you again Property Owner

Beds very comfy. Kitchen well equipped perhaps a glass or plastic dish for microwave cooking would be appreciated and an oven glove was not provided.Informed the owner about an issue with the fridge he was pleased we had got in touch. Would definitely book again. The only little niggle was the rather poor welcome pack only contained 5 teabags and 4 little milk (we don't drink tea) Thought there would be a couple of coffee pods for your machine but alas no. Enjoyed the few days so thank you for a lovely stay.

Thanks for your feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay, I will address the minor issues with the fridge, glove and the welcome pack. Hope to see you soon. Carl & Steph Property Owner

  • "We normally holiday with Sykes and have never had any problem."

However, this property was such a disappointment. There were many issues with the property mainly the filthy kitchen and dirty crockery, utensils, pots and pans. So filthy that we had to eat out for every meal and had to throw our fresh food away. Thank fully we only booked a 2 night weekend break. On reporting the issues and providing photo evidence the owner dismissed the problems, showed no empathy and didn't even so much as offer an apology. Its fair to say it was our first holiday we were actually very happy to leave.

Thank you for your feedback, as it gives us an opportunity to improve areas where necessary. Unfortunately, we received no contact during your stay, had we have been made aware we would have made every effort to resolve the issues at the time. I have taken onboard the minor issues with our cleaning team and will ensure this is rectified moving forward. The property was attended to after your departure and we have not been able to locate some of the issues you have raised. Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Yr Encil."

The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable, and located in a very quiet, private estate. We loved the stylish copper fittings and decor. We had our dog with us, and as long as you keep an eye on them, the garden is very safe for pottering around and lovely to sit in for a cup of tea (even in November!). The cottage is well located for exploring Anglesey, just 2 min by car to the main circular road around the island. We will definitely stay again.

Thanks Roy for your great comments, in the property description it does mention that the property is open plan and there is a stake for a dog lead in the property closet. Hope to see you soon Carl & Steph Property Owner

All attractions were a short drive away. The only downside was the put up beds for the 2 people in the living room were not comfortable for adults and finding single bedding was a challenge. We had a lovely week and would return.

  • "Just had a week staying at Yr Encil and would not hesitate to recommend it."

The detached bungalow is located on a private estate of just 20 other bungalows and is extremely quiet. It's ideally located to travel easily to all the great places to visit on Anglesey. Its well equipped, has spacious gardens and is very comfortably furnished. Beds were comfy and excellent quality bedding provided. En-suite bathrooms are both spacious. The only downside is that's is advertised as dog friendly but it's important to note the garden is not secure at all. There are no gates on the driveway or on the side and your dog can easily get through a gap in the wall into next door Who had to bring our little dog back to us. Fortunately I had packed a dog stake and cable so she was able to let out on her own. I would also suggest taking your own bath towels as the ones provided are quite small. I had an issue with the guttering rattling very loudly all night in the high winds which kept me awake all night so I had to wedge it with a rock to stop that happening. Otherwise an excellent property that will give you a very lovely holiday.

Thank you Andrea for your positive feedback, we are advertised as dog friendly, in the property description it does mention that we have an open plan garden. We did have dog lead stake but it appears this has gone missing in which I will organise a replacement. I will also mention the towels to our laundry providers. So glad you have enjoyed your stay and please come again soon!! Carl & Steph Property Owner

Settled in a peaceful development of holiday homes in the quaint village of Llanddaniel, on the sought-after Isle of Anglesey, rests this delightful stone-built bungalow, Yr Encil - Welsh for 'The Retreat'.

Set across one level and sleeping up to six guests, Yr Encil makes an idyllic base for a small family or two couples looking to tour the delights of North Wales.

Three off-road parking spaces greet you at the foot of this lovely dwelling before stepping into the delightful open-plan living space to begin your holiday.

Sure to be the social hub of the home, the well-presented space plays host to a well-equipped kitchen, a dining table with seating for six, and a snug seating area gathered in front of a Smart TV; a lovely spot to unwind with a movie following a fun-filled day.

Utilise the range of fantastic facilities in the kitchen to prepare tasty dishes for the group, or in the warmer months, venture outdoors and fire up the barbeque, gathering together with your loved ones with a sociable seat on the patio to toast a glass of fizz, enveloped by the tranquil greenery of the garden.

As the evening grows darker, retreat back indoors and retire to either of the two sumptuous king-size bedrooms, each providing ample storage space to unpack your belongings and benefiting from access to their very own en-suite, ensuring getting ready for a day of adventure will be a breeze!

Get better acquainted with your surroundings and head off on foot to explore the ruins of Bryn Celli Ddu Burial Chamber, a Neolithic tomb famed as one of Anglesey's most prehistoric landmarks, or tour the grounds of Plas Newydd House and Gardens, a National Trust property originating from 1470.

Pack up your bucket and spade and head to the magnificent golden sands of Traeth Llanddwyn, where you can soak in the spectacular views across the bay toward the peaks of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, and if you time it right, you can reach the tidal island of Ynys Llanddwyn on foot between high tides, the home of Saint Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers.

A scenic car journey will bring you to the town of Beaumaris, where you can board a boat and tour Puffin Island with Seacoast Safaris, marvel at the remarkable 13th century architecture of Beaumaris Castle, or for a unique experience, explore the former Victorian prisoner cells at Beaumaris Gaol.

Here you can treat yourself to a spot of retail therapy, indulge in authentic Spanish tapas or home-baked goods with a fabulous selection of eateries to choose from, or pick-up any forgotten essentials from a handful of well-stocked convenience stores.

Next stop is Rhosneigr, where you can tackle the waves of the Irish Sea and try your hand at scuba diving or surfing with expert tuition available, or if you'd prefer to stay on land, embark on a two-footed adventure or tour the sights by bike via the Anglesey Coastal Path Circular Rhosneigr Walk.

No trip to North Wales would be complete without a visit to Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, where avid outdoor adventurers can tackle the climb to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon), the tallest mountain in Wales, where the Snowdon Mountain Railway makes the ascent to the summit accessible for visitors with limited mobility.

With all of this and more, choose Yr Encil as an idyllic base from which to tour the delights of the Isle of Anglesey.
