"Felt at home as soon as we walked in."
There were home made cakes waiting for us when we arrived, which were very welcome as we hadn't eaten all day. Superb location for getting everywhere for exploring and walking. Jane, our host, was welcoming, her door was always open. She went out of her way one morning by giving us a lift to Bangor bus station so we could get the bus to Llandudno after our car got locked in the local shopping centre car park.
We had a fabulous holiday and only wished we could have stayed two weeks rather than one. Highly recommended.

"We had a wonderful week at Hafod cottage."
The peaceful environment was full of cute animals, the owner was very friendly and helpful and let me hand feed a lamb which I will never forget :). Cottage was charming and cosy and had most stuff you usually need, and the owner was happy to help with anything we were missing.

"Had a lovely week in this ‘upside down’ cottage."
Spotlessly clean and comfortable with everything you need. It is a good base from which to visit lots of the beautiful places of north wales. Jane, the owner, lives on site and was welcoming and makes the most delicious cakes - a really thoughtful touch on arrival to find cakes on the table and milk in the fridge - a brilliant start to a holiday, thank you Jane.

"A lovely cosy cottage for 2 in a spectacular and very quiet location which was just what we wanted."
The upside down layout, wood burner and spa bath made it an extra nice experience. The owner is lovely, helpful and very freindly and makes exceedingly good cakes! All Covid secure measures were in place and we felt very safe. The Peak restaurant in nearby Llanberis is highly recommended.

"The cottage was fantastic, really spacious and beautiful."
Jane was so welcoming and kind, she even left us some cakes to have on arrival, and packed us some to go on departure. Numerous stunning walks to do nearby, especially great if you have a pup with you. Would definitely return.

Our dog wouldn’t go up and down the spiral staircase but as there were outside steps to upstairs lounge this wasn’t an issue

"This was a lovely Christmas Break."
Jane the host was lovely, we had cakes and sausage rolls which were amazing upon arrival...
Really couldn't fault a thing, we would recommend it to anyone.
Chickens roaming around freely, lovely to see.
Well located to get into Snowdonia or up onto Anglesey..
Topped off with a roaring log fire to curl up in front of during the dark winter evenings, for a Winter break we very much enjoyed it.

"Harold is a great cottage for a couple to take a quiet break."
The cottage was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities that anyone could need. The only criticism is that it a short drive away from shops, pubs or restaurants but it is only a short drive

"As an elderly couple, we found that there were some issues with the cottage which in our mind should be addressed."
1. A non slip rubber mat should be provided for the bath.
2. A support handle should be fitted to assist in getting in and out of the bath.
3. Suggest that the entrance to the cottage should be updated by fitting small windows to allow fresh air into the sleeping area.
4. The fridge/freezer door needs attention. Where the rubber seal of the door engages with the fridge contact becomes unattached
after a short period of time due to overheating of the door sill. Potential fire hazard.
We did not see the caretaker/owner before our departure to pass on our findings, we would be grateful if you could do this on our
behalf. Many thanks.

Cosy cottage with a few perks like a Jacuzzi bath, very powerful shower, king size bed, big fire, washer, dryer, dishwasher, hair dryer, good pans, but lacking a good knife. Lambs at back door and cow's mooing in the evening giving a nice countryside experience. Really enjoyed our stay here.

"We had a fantastic time over our 4 night stay."
The bathroom was fully equpit, the jacuzzi bath was a massive plus. Kitchen and living room were also lovely and came with most things we needed. We needed to buy washing up liquid and sponges however but that wasn't a major issue. Even though it was a little cold at night, the cottage had loads of blankets and a thick quilt which kept us comfortable. Overall was a fantastic stay and we would happily return to Hafod again! Was the perfect couples retreat!
