  • "A cosy well appointed cottage with all the comforts of home."

Beautiful views in a quiet, but convenient location. A lovely welcome from Olwen and John. Would definitely stay there again.

  • "The cottage was very neat and tidy and of a very high standard."

The views from the cottage over the bay are excellent and the beach is in walking distance if you feel like a walk but the hills are very steep coming back. The addition of the outside play area and a selection of games inside kept our Grandson amused for hours. Thank you to John and Olwen for the use of their lovely cottage and the welcome homemade bara brith was gorgeous. We look forward to visiting again.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay here."

The cottage was so cosy and had everything you could need. The view was amazing! The play area was a god send for entertaining our 6 year old. Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather but there's so much nearby thats just a short drive to. Our hosts Olwen and John left a lovely welcome pack on arrival and were there if were needed anything. Fantastic! You will not be disappointed here!

  • "The cottage is ideal for 2 adults ( + 2 children) with beautiful views of the sea."

Parking is directly opposite and the garden/ play area is an adventure for any 3-6 yrs. old. The owners are very friendly and live next door in a bungalow but do not bother you in any way. We are both in late 70's and loved the place. Mind you weather was kind to us.

Pity weather wasn't a bit better so that we could make more use of the patio and barbecue area with views over the sea. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Great location to explore Anglesey."

Quiet & comfortable with welcoming hosts on hand. This bijou cottage has everything you need plus fabulous views and good outdoor space for a barbeque and to let little ones play. Things to consider narrow steep stairs & sloping ceiling in upstairs room.

John and Olwen were fabulous hosts and the homemade Bara Birth was great. The view was spectacular any time of day and the location was ideal. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped and a big thank you for letting us store our road bikes in your secure garage. Sure we will return.

  • "The cottage is small but very comfortable, with everything you need."

It is situated in a beautiful part of Anglesey, with wonderful views over Red Wharf Bay. The owners, Olwen and John, are very welcoming and friendly. We can’t wait to visit again, which we definitely will.

  • "Although directly on the lane down to Llandona Beach the cottage is located in a quiet and untouched area even by Anglesey standards."

One local said “Schhh” don’t tell anybody.....there are no caravan parks and little tourist accommodation. The garden area overlooking Red Wharf Bay is actually across the lane and would really be for use in exceptionally good weather or by families for the play area. The view from the cottage’s small patio was equally good and ideal for a late afternoon or early evening sit in the sunshine. Apart from the many other great spots on Anglesey we particularly recommend circular walks along the coast in either direction...to the idyllic Fedr Fawr cove or around to Red Wharf returning via the lovely woodland or vice versa. The 7 minute walk to the pub is worth it for a change and has pleasant staff, but it is neither touristy or anything special food wise.

  • "The owners were lovely."

The cottage was spotlessly clean, the fixtures good and the attention to detail excellent as was the fruit cake as a welcome. The only downside for us was the narrow lane from the main road to the cottage. We found it quite stressful having to back up into passing spaces both travelling to and from the cottage.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
