  • "We have stayed at Cefn Mawr multiple times now and there's a reason we keep coming back."

The location gives us easy access to the beaches we love and the house is comfortable , warm and large for the price. Our party of 6 easily fitted in with our dogs and Anglesea worked its magic. Thanks for another great holiday.

  • "We found the cottage very clean and homely, and we had lots of room so not under each other’s feet."

The dog loved it as they could walk in and out and kept safe, also they had the paddock to have a good run around. If I had a small complaint it would be the tv it’s a little on the small side and we had no channels between 2 and 9 but that didn’t spoil our holiday,we had a wonderful time and would love to come back again sometime.Stan,Rita Jim and Lorraine plus the two dogs molly and Mia .

Thank you for your feedback its always helpful, as for the TV it appears that the last guests had switched to a home device, and the TV needed re-tuning, please if ever you need help please just call at the bungalow and if we can hopefully sort things out. Property Owner

  • "A wonderful house which we absolutely loved but would highly recommend adding grip bars on the walls in the wet room."

We chose Plas Cefn Mawr because of the downstairs accommodation but my mum (who is disabled and reduced mobility) could not have a shower all week as she didn't feel confident to stand on the wet slate floor without something to hold onto. Other than this we had a wonderful week with everything we needed (other than the weather!

. We thank you for your response and will consider grip bars in the wet room, but we are not informed if guests have mobility problems on the booking list . Property Owner

Very well equipped kitchen and a brilliant paddock for the dogs to have a run round playing ball. Owner was lovely and even brought us some fresh home grown tomatoes and cucumber which were delicious in our salad. Drive very big we took 2 cars a van and also a small fishing boat. I would definitely recommend.

Morning Lyn & Family. thank you for your feedback, its important to us that we try to provide a comfortable stay for all the guests and hope the men ( boys enjoyed the fishing) also a big thank you for leaving the cottage clean and tidy, have a good year, and take care. • "We have had the most wonderful holiday in this beautiful house, six adults, two grandchildren (5yrs and 6 weeks) plus our little dog Molly."

We were so impressed with the property, it is well equipped, immaculately presented and so comfortable (never slept as well)! The bonus was having a huge drive for 3 cars and the outside area was perfect for us all, the paddock being especially popular for all types of games, relaxation and controlled tomfoolery. We had privacy and peace..even the sound of the neighbour's cockerel made us happy (especially our 5yr old).Lots of lovely places to visit locally with the children on the island and we had a couple of takeaways from local businesses which were delicious. Newborough Warren was the highlight which was a short distance away. The weather was very kind but the house was the cherry on the cake.

So pleased that you all had a super relaxing holiday, it makes us happy to know that you loved the island and were comfortable at PCM the cockerel always makes me smile he is quite a good-looking bird will let him know that your grandson loved him, thank you for your feedback it means a lot to us, enjoy the rest of the year. Warm and well equipped. The beds were really comfy, it was so quiet, we all slept incredibly well. The weather was quite wild during our stay so having the wood stove was great. The dog loved having a paddock to herself! The property and outdoor area was well maintained and gated so felt very safe.

The cottage is plenty spacious, enough seating and spacious rooms. Our family of 6 and 2 dogs all fit perfectly without feeling like we were ontop of one another. Everywhere was spotless, beds very comfy and we had no complaints! The TV in the lounge is alittle small and would be nice to be updated to a slightly larger smart tv. The wifi was incredible and our family had a joke about how 'great Pat's wifi' was. There was plenty of parking space outside and the added fenced field attatched to the garden was perfect for our dogs! There was even some badminton things under the stairs that our kids in their 20's enjoyed playing with. Everything was well equipped and provided, but there could be a baking tray or two in the kitchen, luckily we had brought our own! The propertg is on a fairly busy main road but the noise cant be heard inside. Overall a fantastic stay, noone wanted to leave and we would definitely return!

Thank you for your comments, we do try to accommodate most things in house as we would like to find when on holiday, glad Pat,s wifi got top marks hopefully we will see you all again. Pat & Islwyn Property Owner

  • "A good sized house for myself, my husband and our 3 adult sons."

The twin room would benefit from zip link beds so that all may have a double. The upstairs family bathroom was a decent size but the adjoining door to the bedroom made it slightly awkward. The wet-room downstairs, which was an ensuite to the downstairs bedroom, could not be used once we had showered as the floor was saturated for many hours. This meant the only usable bathroom was upstairs. The living room was a good size with ample seating. The TV in that room, the only tv in the property, felt small for the room but sufficed. The kitchen, which was mostly conservatory was a disappointment. The dining table, pushed against the side of the conservatory had a 'nursery rhyme' wipe clean covering. The chairs were not as depicted in the phots but were office chairs!!! I was astounded! Not suitable and very disappointing. There was ample crockery but all small sized. The cutlery was not suitable and poor quality. We cooked steaks but there was no knife suitable to cut it. The utensils were mismatched and random. There were no baking trays so we had to use the pizza tray to cook a pie. The only tongs were wooden and not fit for purpose. My sons were reasonably happy with their beds but the downstairs bed which I shared with my husband was very uncomfortable. The mattress left me with terrible hip pain due to ridges digging in. I had to put throws from the living room under the mattress cover to soften the feeling but it didn't help much. The most disappointing thing was no 'welcome pack'. Admittedly, one was not promised, but after a 41/2 hour drive I had to go out to find a shop for the essentials of tea, milk, bread etc. It would have been helpful to have a few tea bags and some milk provided. We have been renting holiday cottages around the UK for 25+ years and rarely has there been no provision of tea bags and milk! On the whole, the property is fine for a week away but is not 5 STAR, not even close. There needs to be more attention to detail and some touches of luxury to rate that highly.

Nice & roomy cottage for a family of 5 & our dog. The photos on the listing need updating as the dining chairs have been replaced with office meeting room type chairs & there is different garden table & chairs. I think we've been spoilt with other holiday locations where a welcome pack has been provided meaning you can have a hot drink when you arrive, whereas nothing was provided, a little thing but goes a long way.

The place was spotless and the size was perfect for us, the kitchen was well equipped for self catering ! The dinning table and chairs has been changed from the picture on the listing and has been swapped for different ones - this wasn’t an issue just wasn’t as photographed. Also the property is located on a main road - we didn’t notice this from the advert but the paddock has the main road running along side it so it isn’t very private - again not an issue for us just wasn’t clear in the listing !

Mr and Mrs Owens the owners are a lovely couple. The cottage is beautiful, everything you need is there. The dogs love the paddock. We missed Hippo the Shetland pony this visit, she sadly passed away earlier in the year. The visitors book is full of positive comments, that's all you need to know really. Sadly we cannot go in Septmber as Plas Cefn Mawr is already booked so we are trying another property on Menai's books. My car is on the Google Earth photo of the cottage parked on the driveway lol.

We were in love with the log burner which made every evening so cosy. The bedrooms were so lovingly decorated and I loved waking up every morning and going downstairs to the large kitchen and making coffee for everyone. My Labrador loved the paddock in the morning and we saw Hippo too most days! We loved spending Christmas day here but just wish there had been a few more utensils and pans to deal with a busy cooking day. Apart from that I would recommend this beautiful cottage to friends and family without a doubt. I also loved reading the history of the area and the cottage in the guest help book and would have loved to know more. My grandma was particularly taken with the little window in the lounge! Once again a beautiful and cosy place to stay any time of year.

We were welcomed by the owners Pat and Wynn and once the rest of our family arrived it soon felt like 'home'. The cottage was an old building with lots of interesting history, beautifully decorated but the kitchen was equipped with modern electrical goods. Comfy beds and plenty of room for all our family, six adults, three young children, a toddler and a dog! Our youngsters especially appreciated the field beyond the garden to run off some energy!
