About the location
Moelfre 7 miles; Snowdonia 25 miles.
The former market town of Llanerchymedd, is located in the heart of picturesque Anglesey, providing a gateway to the superb beaches around the coastline. Llanerchymedd was once home to a thriving cobblers’ industry with over 250 shoemakers in the town and numerous corn mills to provide food for the cobblers and also to supply the traders at the market. The village now offers a smaller community feeling, with a village pub serving good food, a small village shop, chip shop and launderette, which should provide for most of your daily needs. The pretty freshwater reservoir at Llyn Alaw offers an attractive circular walk and numerous country paths lead away from the village. The nearest coastal village is Moelfre, seven miles away. Situated on the beautiful east coast of Anglesey, Moelfre is a delightful seaside village, boasting little cottages, a picturesque port, a beach, fine views of Snowdonia, a working lifeboat, and two quality pubs/restaurants. There are stunning sandy beaches nearby, at Benllech and Lligwy, and the lovely Red Wharf Bay, with its miles of open sands and birdlife. A perfect location for travelling around this lovely island and throughout beautiful Snowdonia.
