"Lovely little cabin; the owner is soo friendly!"
We were given a little gift of wine and chocolates on arrival ( which was greatly appreciated) they also went in and put the heating on so it was toasty warm when we arrived. This is our second time staying here and we’ll be back again. A simple little cottage; no big frills but clean, comfy and perfect for what we needed also a complete bargain! Beautiful surroundings too.
"The cabin was very comfortable and spacious that made a great base for walking and exploring the wonderful coastline around Anglesley."
The welcome pack was nice and it was good that the side pathway slabs were completed. The TV did often not work very well but was not required as had taken my own audio device as none there. Every thing else was good and very much enjoyed my stay there and would consider going there again.
"Despite being warm and comfortable there is seemingly an ongoing problem with maintenance as has been mentioned in previous reviews."
There was thick black mould around the bath, the plug mechanism in the basin was broken, no live batteries in either of the two torches, the two tv remotes or the central heating control which was flashing very low when we arrived and which we replaced!! The old Freesat Box on top of the tv worked intermittently which was really annoying when you're trying to relax on a dark evening. The hooks on the curtain tiebacks were coming out of the walls in places and there was a general lack of proper maintenance all round. We couldn't use the LPG oven as there were no instructions and it's quite different from a normal oven and we decided it was safer to manage without. In fact there were no instructions for the tv or microwave either..it was all guesswork! No phone numbers or contacts for doctors etc..all in all very disappointing and not the standard we've come to expect from Sykes holidays. The final problem is the exit/entrance onto a blind 60mph bend..we had to wind the window down and listen for cars, cross our fingers and just go for it..it's an accident waiting to happen and there should be a mirror on the other side of the road which I can't believe would cost that much to install. Needless to say we won't be returning!
"A comfortable, cosy ,cabin with g ood sized bathroom and kitchen."
Described accurately by Sykes. Excellent value for money. Would stay there again. Thanks.
"I was extremely disappointed."
It was very tired and dated. It was dirty, the bedroom windows didn't close properly, therefore it was really cold at night. The gas ran out on our 2nd night so we had no hot water or heating. We were told we would have to wait until the next day. The bath sealant was black, the shower curtain was mildew, the shower hose was black. The toilet brush was disgusting. The dust on the pictures above the bed was thick, cobwebs everywhere. This was definitely not a 5 star accommodation, I feel very let down, this was my only break this year and I feel ripped off. The entrance to the main road is blind onto a 60 mile per hour road. It needs a mirror across the road, it was terrifying trying to get out. I don't mind basic but expect it to be clean, warm and have hot water. I don't think that's too much to ask. I've given this one star only because I didn't have an option for none.
"Looks like a lovely cabin but upon closer inspection theres a number of issues that need addressing."
.. window in kitchen broken, kitchen cupboards not shut properly, mouldy shower curtains, area outside the cabin is very waterlogged and muddy so we had to park on the driveway.
"Friendly owner and nice welcome pack on arrival."
Property a little tired and several minor repairs required. Road noise very intrusive and access off the road tricky.
"Our 3rd stay in less than a year, and, it won't most certainly be our last!"
Again, Milk,Wine and Chocolates on arrival, clean and presentable accommodation. The accommodation is close to the road but a little care when exciting the site negates any issues, you will experience some road noise, predominantly during the day, however,if you've gone to Anglesey to sit inside all day then I personally think you're missing the point! The Island is indeed stunning, beaches galore and miles and miles of coastal paths, people, tourist and locals alike are very friendly and we regularly end up in 20 minute conversations. If you require luxury accommodation then pay more for it, as I said " We'll be back" !!
"There were a few things broken in there i."
E toilet seat Window Cupboards in kitchen were not put up right And there were cobwebs everywhere and it needed a little tlc
"On arrival, we found wine, chocolates and milk that had been left by the owner, which was very much appreciated."
All was good except that we had no wi-fi all week, except for our first day. We reported this but it was not dealt with and no one came to fix it. This provided a high level of inconvenience as we needed it to do our work online. It was very disappointing that there was no attempt to rectify the issue. Would recommend to others but when problems arise they owner should at least attempt to fix them, text messages were vague and offered no solution.
"Kind and helpful owner; the property is well appointed and the location is tranquil except for the noise transmitted from passing cars who drive up and down the hill very close to the home."
Initially difficult to spot as it comes straight after a corner that cars take at speed; driving out of the property requires careful listening to ensure there is no car coming past at speed. It would benefit from some kind of warning that there is a property just around the corner. Were it not for these issues we'd have scored it even higher.
"Where do I start, received a lovely friendly text from the owners, the welcome pack was nice, the cabin heating had been put on to ensure it was warm when we arrived."
This is without any doubt the nicest place we have stayed on Anglesey!!! The Grouse were amazing, literally dropping n of a morning, if you are looking for a base to explore the Island, this is perfect, if you want Luxury accommodation, it isn't for you, there's nothing wrong with it, it's more "home comfort" than luxury and at the price we paid, that was more than good enough for us, Would we recommend it, in a heartbeat, we WILL be returning! Think the owners should update their listing though and advertise the freezer that they have put in, how could they improve things .... extend the decking and put a hot tub in and charge £50 a week more for the accommodation .How would I rate it out of 5 stars? A well earned 5 Stars! SO friendly and a beautiful location. See you very soon...
"Excellent value for money."
Thank you Julie.
"Lovely cabin, plenty of space and very comfortable."
Beautiful location with great views and very much in the countryside. Horse paddock directly outside and we saw plenty of pheasant and the occasional fox along with loads of song birds. Occasionally busy road and awkward to pull on / off the main road but I only note it as the only thing I can really pick up on. I would 100% go again
"We were able to have a memorably refreshing holiday."
This was because of the excellent facilities and the kindness and hospitality of the owner as well as the beautiful countryside.
"Such a gem of a property that is in an ideal location for visiting the whole of the island."
The property is very clean, packed with everything you need and even a little more with the welcome pack, which was very welcomed. The hosts are friendly and if you need them, they are there to help, but leave you to enjoy your stay. Waking to the sight of the paddock and the gentle going ok of the horses and pony never failed to make us smile. This was our second visit in 6 weeks, and we can't wait to be back soon.
"Had a wonderful week in the Cabin."
Clean cosy and comfortable. The welcome package was a nice surprise. Location is great for exploring Anglesey and the surrounding area. Convenient for Holyhead which has all local amenities, supermarkets etc. Great place to relax and chill out. Will certainly return.
"Great location found easily."
Cabin has all you need for a great break.Welcoming gifts were lovely and very thoughtful.Great communication from the owner who is lovely and who goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay.Highly recommend.A great 2 weeks and will return soon.
"Thank You for a lovely stay and Thank You for the welcome pack - wine biscuits sweets and a bottle of milk."
Very nicely priced for a weeks stay . Just one small recommendation - The main road is on a sharp bend when you turn out right. It could be useful to have a mirror assistance ; )
"Nice comfortable base within easy reach of beautiful beaches and locations."
"Lovely cabin with all you could need for a perfect stay."
Loved the horses in the paddock, very relaxing. The only down side was accessing the busy road on a bend, just need to be very cautious.
"Your description should say that there is a freezer, we thought it was a 2nd fridge as it didn't list a freezer and we put fridge items in it only to find them solid the next morning."
"Excellent place to stay to see the island."
Accommodation very nice. Julie the owner is very friendly. Only one negative it's very close to a busy fast road.
"The place was very difficult to find as it was on a bend in the road and we passed it three times before being helpfully shown the way."
The lodge itself was different to the pictures shown and the first night we were absolutely frozen and could not sleep. The mattress was so old and without any support. Fortunately when we spoke to the owner she switched the central heating on to run as we needed, and provided a different mattress for us. We got the impression that everything was done on a very tight budget. We asked for a freezer to be provided, which the owner did. They were very polite and helpful but the accommodation was not very good.
"Great location, had a great time with my family Definitely recommend"
"We enjoyed our break in Anglesey."
A nice location for the beaches and visiting Holyhead. The cabin was comfortable and the facilities were excellent. Thanks to our hosts.
"This cabin was everything i expected, the owner had included everything you could possibly need for your stay and more little extras that all added up to make it a lovely home from home."
i would definitely recommend. The island of Anglesey is an absolute joy
"Really nice little cabin and the host made the stay really comfortable, initially difficult to find but once we found the place it was a really nice cosy little place to stay I would recommend it to anyone."
"This is a very nice comfortably warm and cosy cabin with everything you would need for a holiday ."
We used it as a base for visiting family and fitted the bill fine .Holyhead retail park not to far away and an Chinese in valley . The only thing we would say is no instructions for recycling we took all our rubbish home as we have a far simpler system in use as they seem to have a lot of containers for different items. We have one recycle bin and everything goes in .But that aside the fact there was no instructions at all was very nice as some places we have visited have a manual for everything .Here everything was very easy to figure out so no pressure at all nice start to our holiday .And we will book again, thanks to the owner for a pleasant stay .
"Super clean and homely lodge and a wonderful host"

"We enjoyed our week in this comfortable, well equipped accommodation."
A nice country setting well hosted by Julie. The thoughtful unexpected extras were a nice touch. Many thanks.
"This little cabin was a little haven for me and my family."
Such a beautiful part of wales, gorgeous beaches and lovely walks. Julie was so helpful and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and some treats. The cabin itself is very homely and cozy, the garden is also one to explore, lots of trees and beautiful flowers with some rare butterflies. Had a lovely time and dropped lucky with the weather too. Sykes were also extremely informative with booking info and directions! Thanks again!
"Description didn’t do the cabin justice."
Basic but you don’t anything else on hols because you want to relax which we did. The girls got the kids on horses, and my daughter trotting in half an hour. There’s an embryo instructor there. Stunning area and great beaches. Extremely good value for money
