  • "I wouldn't recommend staying there It started well with a very nice welcome from the host and chocolate left for us when we arrived but then everything else was unpleasant."

The place is not very clean, there are spider webs all over the place. The plates and glasses were dirty when we arrived and the blanket had stickers on it so hadn't been cleaned since the last guests. The water in the shower doesn't get very warm and the temperature changes during the shower from cold to hot etc. As a side note, the TV barely works, there are no board games and the wifi only just load web pages. The place is also right next to the A-road (16 feet at most) so there are lots of car noises especially in the bedroom and it make it difficult to go for a walk from the cabin, especially if you have kids, because the A-road has no space to walk on it safely. On top of that we ran out of gas after 3 days (and were blamed for it), so we spent 24h without heating, hot water and cooker as it all runs on gas. We still enjoyed our time in Anglesey, it's a very nice place to visit.

  • "Lovely little cabin; the owner is soo friendly!"

We were given a little gift of wine and chocolates on arrival ( which was greatly appreciated) they also went in and put the heating on so it was toasty warm when we arrived. This is our second time staying here and we’ll be back again. A simple little cottage; no big frills but clean, comfy and perfect for what we needed also a complete bargain! Beautiful surroundings too.

  • "The cabin was very comfortable and spacious that made a great base for walking and exploring the wonderful coastline around Anglesley."

The welcome pack was nice and it was good that the side pathway slabs were completed. The TV did often not work very well but was not required as had taken my own audio device as none there. Every thing else was good and very much enjoyed my stay there and would consider going there again.

  • "Despite being warm and comfortable there is seemingly an ongoing problem with maintenance as has been mentioned in previous reviews."

There was thick black mould around the bath, the plug mechanism in the basin was broken, no live batteries in either of the two torches, the two tv remotes or the central heating control which was flashing very low when we arrived and which we replaced!! The old Freesat Box on top of the tv worked intermittently which was really annoying when you're trying to relax on a dark evening. The hooks on the curtain tiebacks were coming out of the walls in places and there was a general lack of proper maintenance all round. We couldn't use the LPG oven as there were no instructions and it's quite different from a normal oven and we decided it was safer to manage without. In fact there were no instructions for the tv or microwave either..it was all guesswork! No phone numbers or contacts for doctors etc..all in all very disappointing and not the standard we've come to expect from Sykes holidays. The final problem is the exit/entrance onto a blind 60mph bend..we had to wind the window down and listen for cars, cross our fingers and just go for it..it's an accident waiting to happen and there should be a mirror on the other side of the road which I can't believe would cost that much to install. Needless to say we won't be returning!

  • "I was extremely disappointed."

It was very tired and dated. It was dirty, the bedroom windows didn't close properly, therefore it was really cold at night. The gas ran out on our 2nd night so we had no hot water or heating. We were told we would have to wait until the next day. The bath sealant was black, the shower curtain was mildew, the shower hose was black. The toilet brush was disgusting. The dust on the pictures above the bed was thick, cobwebs everywhere. This was definitely not a 5 star accommodation, I feel very let down, this was my only break this year and I feel ripped off. The entrance to the main road is blind onto a 60 mile per hour road. It needs a mirror across the road, it was terrifying trying to get out. I don't mind basic but expect it to be clean, warm and have hot water. I don't think that's too much to ask. I've given this one star only because I didn't have an option for none.

.. window in kitchen broken, kitchen cupboards not shut properly, mouldy shower curtains, area outside the cabin is very waterlogged and muddy so we had to park on the driveway.

  • "Our 3rd stay in less than a year, and, it won't most certainly be our last!"

Again, Milk,Wine and Chocolates on arrival, clean and presentable accommodation. The accommodation is close to the road but a little care when exciting the site negates any issues, you will experience some road noise, predominantly during the day, however,if you've gone to Anglesey to sit inside all day then I personally think you're missing the point! The Island is indeed stunning, beaches galore and miles and miles of coastal paths, people, tourist and locals alike are very friendly and we regularly end up in 20 minute conversations. If you require luxury accommodation then pay more for it, as I said " We'll be back" !!

  • "On arrival, we found wine, chocolates and milk that had been left by the owner, which was very much appreciated."

All was good except that we had no wi-fi all week, except for our first day. We reported this but it was not dealt with and no one came to fix it. This provided a high level of inconvenience as we needed it to do our work online. It was very disappointing that there was no attempt to rectify the issue. Would recommend to others but when problems arise they owner should at least attempt to fix them, text messages were vague and offered no solution.

  • "Kind and helpful owner; the property is well appointed and the location is tranquil except for the noise transmitted from passing cars who drive up and down the hill very close to the home."

Initially difficult to spot as it comes straight after a corner that cars take at speed; driving out of the property requires careful listening to ensure there is no car coming past at speed. It would benefit from some kind of warning that there is a property just around the corner. Were it not for these issues we'd have scored it even higher.

  • "Where do I start, received a lovely friendly text from the owners, the welcome pack was nice, the cabin heating had been put on to ensure it was warm when we arrived."

This is without any doubt the nicest place we have stayed on Anglesey!!! The Grouse were amazing, literally dropping n of a morning, if you are looking for a base to explore the Island, this is perfect, if you want Luxury accommodation, it isn't for you, there's nothing wrong with it, it's more "home comfort" than luxury and at the price we paid, that was more than good enough for us, Would we recommend it, in a heartbeat, we WILL be returning! Think the owners should update their listing though and advertise the freezer that they have put in, how could they improve things .... extend the decking and put a hot tub in and charge £50 a week more for the accommodation .How would I rate it out of 5 stars? A well earned 5 Stars! SO friendly and a beautiful location. See you very soon...

Beautiful location with great views and very much in the countryside. Horse paddock directly outside and we saw plenty of pheasant and the occasional fox along with loads of song birds. Occasionally busy road and awkward to pull on / off the main road but I only note it as the only thing I can really pick up on. I would 100% go again

The hosts are friendly and if you need them, they are there to help, but leave you to enjoy your stay. The lodge itself was different to the pictures shown and the first night we were absolutely frozen and could not sleep. The mattress was so old and without any support. Fortunately when we spoke to the owner she switched the central heating on to run as we needed, and provided a different mattress for us. We got the impression that everything was done on a very tight budget. We asked for a freezer to be provided, which the owner did. They were very polite and helpful but the accommodation was not very good.

We used it as a base for visiting family and fitted the bill fine .Holyhead retail park not to far away and an Chinese in valley . The only thing we would say is no instructions for recycling we took all our rubbish home as we have a far simpler system in use as they seem to have a lot of containers for different items. We have one recycle bin and everything goes in .But that aside the fact there was no instructions at all was very nice as some places we have visited have a manual for everything .Here everything was very easy to figure out so no pressure at all nice start to our holiday .And we will book again, thanks to the owner for a pleasant stay .
