. we are a different culture and maybe that’s was the reason . We’ve been interrupted by cleaning personnel one time and front door to apartment wasn’t locked as we didn’t have a key , that I find awkward and anytime someone can enter the property which ain’t great / car park we’ve been told we are allowed only two cars . Scenery around wales and Anglesey impeccable Many places to visit ! Snowdon and zipworld … like I said Walles is impeccable

  • "Really liked the house, beautiful, well appointed rooms with all ameneties but felt it needed something like a pool table/games area."

Not sure where the garden was and the outdoor seating wasn't particularly inviting. Overall, didn't think facilities were great for a family holiday involving children. More suited to adults. Baths were very slippery when used for showering and it was rather disconcerting when the the bathroom descended into darkness because of the sensor activated lights.

  • "Absolutely amazing property, has everything you could possibly need."

Beds were super comfy. Close by to shops and a pub. Perfect base for exploring North Wales and Anglesey. The only negative was the upstairs is way too hot with no way to cool it down, windows don't open further than 1cm which led to a few sleepless nights.

  • "This is a great house !"

The open living area is spacious and loads of room for large groups. The garden is a nice sun trap in the evening but would benefit from a bbq. The bedrooms are all very comfortable ( beds a bit too soft ) and the bathrooms well appointed ! Overall highly recommended in a village with a few shops and easy access to Canarfon for larger stores.

The rooms were beautiful and everything was pristine and well thought out. Really nice outdoor seating area and we were lucky with the weather too. Really quiet area, just what you want for a break away but still really close to shops and pub about 10 minutes walk. Absolutely great place for family get together and break away.

  • "We throughly enjoyed our weeks stay."

Capel Mawr was very comfortable, furnished and equipped to a high standard. Only some minor attention to detail that we would like to point out for future benefit - The heating seemed to be on constant, even when we thought we had turned it off! The owner could save a fortune in heating bills if this was sorted out. Dusty bedside lamps. Sensor lights in bathroom turned off whilst in the shower / bath, which was inconvenient but made sure we left the door open to the bedroom for light! Would have been helpful to have had more tea towels, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, bin liners, unless you point out that guests should bring these along. Really only attention to detail, small issue that can be sorted, no major issues at all. Capel Mawr is a fab property which is well located for Snowdon, Llanberris, Forest walks, Betws-y-Coed, Portmeirion. Local chippy worth a visit for supper. Spice restaurant or takeaway recommended. Peak restaurant in Llanberris excellent but you need to book ahead. Plenty to do out and about, or just chill out in this lovely house.

  • "The accommodation was excellent for us as we were staying as a 3 generation family group so there was plenty of spare room for the children."

They loved the TV which gave them some downtime after their exertions during the day. There was enough parking for all our cars & access was easy. The owner was friendly & helpful when we couldn't find the internet access code & met us as we were leaving. After all the problems generated by Covid it was a relief to be in a safe, clean environment. A wonderful postponed 70th birthday experience.

The only drawback was the lack of things to do in the village. We had to drive every day either to the coast or into the countryside - both of which were very nice but the roads were busy and there were some road closures and road works.

The location is absolutely amazing, as you are close to all the local landmarks. The basement flat, no expense has been spared. The kitchen is absolutely massive with a large breakfast bar. There is a huge table for a more formal dinning experience. The flat had everything and we could not have asked for anything. It was immaculate when we picked up the keys, and the owner is extremely friendly. Place is ideal for a large family gatherings. Our kids loved the flat and did not want to go home. Real great character and furnished beautifully. The photos are completely accurate yet don’t show just how spacious the property is, doesn’t feel overcrowded at all. Property was certainly clean enough aside from the odd bit of dust which is totally understandable in a house that size!! Would definitely recommend and would like to return!

  • "Capel Mawr basement is a beautiful apartment with plenty of space in the main living room; it is also in a great location."

The parking is ok for 3 cars - it is shared with the upstairs apartment, as is the main entrance. The four upstairs bedrooms are comfortable. The downstairs bunk room is quite small. The owner is friendly but needs to ensure that a few issues are addressed properly, in the current climate, such as the plumbing but above all the cleaning. I hesitate to recommend this property at the moment due to the lack of cleanliness; the kitchen area needed to be extensively cleaned by us on arrival, along with several other areas. Most of what Sykes said would be put in place, due to the pandemic, had not been addressed.

  • "A magical Christmas."

.. The moment we arrived was just an amazing experience, beyond our expectations. There were 4 adults and 3 children staying for an amazing Christmas time and this property didn’t let us down. Walking in everyone was in awe, such a beautiful design and furnishing was of a very high standard throughout. We wished our 5 day stay was longer from the get go. We ventured out on Christmas Eve to the local pub (Glyntwrog - 5 minute walk) for a couple of merry drinks but couldn’t wait to return. Christmas Day was unreal, the kids woke us up at 3,4 and 6am although we were just as excited. Theres so much space here, we were all playing games throughout the day, then switched to a movie on the huge TV. Turkey was perfect even if I do say so myself, really helped with the two double ovens and kitchen space to prepare everything. I can’t praise this place enough, I wouldn’t hesitate to book again...and I will! Will definitely recommend to friends and family to stay also. Thank you for making our Christmas 2019 so amazing, treasured memories we will never forget.
