  • "A lovely cottage with a great open plan living/dining/kitchen area that provides ample space."

Outside, the large garden wraps around from the rear to the side of the property; enabling a sunny seat to be found out of the breeze. The views across the lawn and out to Snowdownia make the most wonderful backdrop to a sunny breakfast on the outside table. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all well-proportioned with enough showers and toilets to cater for a busy cottage. The drive can easily accommodate double the stated 4 cars safely off the road. Location-wise, the cottage is central to the island, so any of the wonderful beach locations are around 20 minutes away in any direction. All in all a great escape for a large family or group of friends plus the garden is reasonably dog secure if your dog isn’t too determined to escape.

  • "Capel Bach is in a beautiful rural location with fantastic views of snowdon from the back of the cottage."

The ground floor was open plan which provided for lots of space. The beds were really comfortable also and the kitchen was fully equipped! There were two points to highlight about this properly from our stay. The cottage wasn’t overly warm even with the fire and heating on all day and the weather outside was between 6-10 degrees and then the dining chairs definitely need replacing, some were very wobbly and felt like they could collapse.

  • "Lovely property, lots of space, airy, very comfortable."

Loved knowing the history of the former Sunday school and all the artefacts on display. If you want to get away, this is a lovely spot…middle of nowhere, lovely view but you have to travel a good 15/20/30 minutes to get anywhere…which is fine but good to know. A nice big secure garden for the dogs…although we were visited a few times by a very athletic fence jumping sheep! The bed was super comfy and it was lovely relaxing in front of the wood burner after a December afternoon on the beach. I’m picking holes here…could do with some more shelving in both bathrooms upstairs (particularly the en suite) the towels had definitely seen better days and there were no ‘store cupboard’ items in the kitchen, other than salt & pepper (but there were dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and foil/clingfilm which I was very grateful for). But honestly, a really lovely stay and I wouldn’t hesitate going there again.

  • "Thou this place is lovely and claims to be dog friendly it's not dog safe as the your dog can get to the road in a flash."

As there is no wire between the big fence post in the garden or at the gate to the road.

Thank you for your feedback, we do consider the cottage dog friendly as we have had many guests and their pets staying over the years and have had no issues. However we will look into making the garden more secure without spoiling the view or the decreasing the use of the facilities. Property Owner

Perfect large grassed garden for the dog. Quiet location but well positioned for exploring (our favourite was walking at Newborough nature reserve forest and beach). Would highly recommend Capel Bach.

There is a lot to do on Anglesey although the island remains unspoilt. Chapel Bach is well situated for visiting everywhere within 20-40 minutes.

  • "Capel Bach appealed because it was a converted chapel and we particularly like conversions."

A little larger than we needed and more expensive but we chose it based on the pictures online which looked fabulous (obviously taken when first converted). On arriving noticed dead box plants in tubs at doorways - it had been v hot I guess. Once inside a cuppa was in order BUT all crockery in a terrible state - dirty and scratched. had to scrub them and keep 2 of everything to one side to use on our stay! Cleanliness a real issue. Kitchen grubby, toaster tray full up with crumbs from various previous guests, dirty cupboards, windows and kettle, fridge etc. Bedroom we stayed in was so dusty it made me wheeze. Beside and behind furniture dead flies and thick dust, bedhead had thick layer of dust and lampshades covered in dust. We were disgusted but little concern from Menai in truth although did get housekeeper in to clean again. Still not up to standard though. We left a few days early as felt we wold be more comfortable and clean at home. Disastrous and £800 down the drain. Were eventually offered £35 voucher to use with Menai which we didn't want. Then offered £35 and £35 from owners of Capel Bach, which we believe in no way reflects the disappointment and displeasure we had experienced. Menai advertise their properties to be 'spotlessly clean'. This was not so. I phoned on our return to speak with one of the directors but was not permitted to speak with her. I felt she should be made aware. I would have been very concerned if guests had had such a poor experience. It was a well equipped cottage in many ways but we couldn't use much of it as it was all very dirty. I had to start cleaning it myself- not much a break!Would appreciate a call from someone but it was all swept under the carpet - with all the dirt I suspect. Very poor customer care. £70 refund does not in any way recompense for our dismal experience with a Menai Holiday Cottage

  • "Setting is amazing."

The only downside for us was having just one wardrobe. There were plenty of cupboards just not enough hanging space for 4 adults and one child.

amazing cottage, fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans and everything you need to cook up a meal. Really comfortable beds, towels provided with a big back garden.

  • "Beautifully restored chapel, with lots of original features."

We had a few issues with the hot water at first, but, one emergency plumber later these were all fixed. Great service on the weekend before Christmas! There weren't enough towels for all six of us, but the rest of cottage and its location made up for that!

  • "Beautiful cottage and a lovely location with views over the surrounding countryside."

Beware, the roads around the cottage are very narrow with few passing places. We met a Scania truck coming towards us and had to reverse back up the lane in the dark and pouring rain! Not a good experience.

The property

Capel Bach is a holiday cottage located in lush Anglesey countryside with stunning views towards the mountains.

Capel Bach means 'Little Chapel' in English and was built using locally quarried stone in 1861.

It was, unsurprisingly, a chapel before it was a Sunday School and now a holiday cottage that bursts with character.

The kitchen has views out towards the mountains, gorgeous exposed stonework and double-height ceilings.

There’s a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and toaster.

The utility room is where you’ll find the washing machine, cot, highchair and children's toy box. Head through the arched doorway into the open plan sitting and dining room.

Squishy sofas are set around a wood burning stove which provides lots of warmth in the winter months.

There’s a TV and DVD player.

The dining table, complete with stunning traditional wooden chairs, will seat up to eight people.

French doors lead out onto the patio area. There’s a ground floor double bedroom and opposite is a cloakroom with loo and wash hand basin. Downstairs there is a cloakroom with loo and wash hand basin. Upstairs you will find three further bedrooms.

One double bedroom with king size bed and an ensuite with a bath with shower over, loo and wash hand basin.

There’s also a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. Upstairs is a family bathroom with corner shower, loo and wash hand basin. Outside there’s a lovely large enclosed garden laid to lawn with gravel patio, barbeque area and garden furniture.

Sit out here with your morning brew and enjoy the views!

There is also parking for up to four cars. Capel Bach is a holiday cottage retaining original features such as arched windows, a stained glass door and a handmade staircase built from the original pews.

Located in the heartland of Anglesey, it has incredible views across rolling Welsh farmland to the Snowdonia mountain range.

It’s also wonderfully peaceful.

If there are more than seven in your party, Ty Capel is next door and sleeps a further six people.
