  • "It would have been good if a welcome park had been provided."

  • "Lovely bungalow is nice location with easy access to all area of the island."

Disappointed we were unable to gain access at stipulated time because the accommodation wasn’t ready. Waited two days for duvet cover to be delivered even though we have notified our requirements 48 hours prior. En-suite shower cubicle and shower heads were filthy with mould, toilets also had mould and were unclean. (All now left sparkling clean!) Crumbs on table, carpets required vacuuming. It would appear the bungalow had not been cleaned since the previous guests. Our biggest disappointment and problem was the overpowering and continuous smell of oil fuel from the boiler which was noticeable at all times throughout the bungalow. We were provided with a ‘odour eliminator’ spray which was totally ineffective.

  • "We thought the cottage/bungalow was in a lovely, quiet location but within striking distance of local beaches, the shops and facilities in Benllech and never far from any of the sites we visited on Anglesey."

The cottage was spacious and well laid out, which was important for our grandchildren who really liked the place. We felt that it was safe for them both inside the building and in the garden. It was really well decorated and very clean (in times of covid we felt this was important.) We found that all the internal equipment (cooking, eating, etc) was more than adequate. We particularly enjoyed chilling in the front conservatory, with and without grandchildren. We enjoyed several BBQ's in the garden and it was wonderful to be able to seat the family outside on the patio furniture for our food. We made several walks and enjoyed numerous sightings of red squirrels. All considered, we would very much like to return there in the future and are very likely to do so. One slight hiccup - we were disappointed that we could not let the children play on the green opposite (we know it belonged to the farmer, so out of the owner's hands) but it would have been ideal to kick a ball around or fly a kite. Thank you owners and Sykes Cottages.
