  • "Had a great stay at Gwynfa, lovely old house with lots of character and charm."

Great location for some great walks on the beaches and not to far from town.. Could do with someone having a look to see why the outside lights aren't working as very dark on arrival and had to use touches to find key box and very narrow gate to get a car through and curtains in dining room need repairing.. All in all had a great stay and would return if above sorted... Many thanks..

  • "What a fabulous place."

Great cottage and location. The red squirrel and blackberries in the garden were a bonus and our 7 and 9 year old loved the table tennis. The local beach was fabulous and only a 15 minute walk away and Moelfre was only a 30 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend

  • "There were a few very minor , cleanliness points ."

There was a paper tissue behind one of the cabinets in the second bedroom and a hair scrunchie left on the mantelpiece also the drive area has lots of large weeds growing through it . The curtains in many of the rooms are very difficult to slide along the poles. Other than these points the place was immaculately clean and was very well maintained. We only stayed for 3 nights but would have liked to stay much longer , we will recommend to our friends.

  • "Even arriving after 10pm this property still had the wow factor!"

Spacious, clean and newly decorated with new bathrooms and looked like new carpet throughout. The views in the morning were stunning, countryside and sea all in one. A beautiful property in a breathtaking location. There was a lovely beach with a good small pizzeria/ cafe just down the hill too. Beds were comfy, although you might need to bring your own blackout blinds as the morning sun does wake you up at sunrise in both double rooms as the curtains don't block out much light. We enjoyed eating breakfast in the kitchen or the garden and saved the dining room for evening meals to soak in that view. We all enjoyed playing on the table tennis table, but it was a shame the air hockey didn’t work for us. A brilliant time here, we would definitely love to return. Thank you

  • "Beautiful cottage with amazing views, good location, very well equipped, the only issue was that the property was advertised with a enclosed garden which was one of the main thing we looked for due to having small children but the gate wouldn’t close, this meant we had to put the bin and flower pots across the gate."

  • "The cottage was pretty much as described."

It was very clean, which at this time we felt was extra important. The sea and countryside views from the rear garden were lovely, and we even managed to sit out one afternoon, but we did use our own comfy chairs, as only a picnic bench with fixed seats is available. The local red squirrels make regular visits to the garden, and these kept us entertained, and there are some nice walks in the area. The cottage is fairly well equipped, and the big fridge/freezer very useful for a full weeks shop But the one thing we really missed was a TV in the lounge area. This was a really nice room, but we never used it. One of the sofas in the snug was ok, but the other was not very comfortable. This is the one thing that really let the property down, especially at this time of year when the nights are drawing in, and you don't spend as much time outside. We read other reviews saying that a little TLC , and we would agree with that. We parked on the verge outside the cottage as the car would not fit onto the drive. Overall we enjoyed our stay, despite the Covid-19 restrictions.

  • "We have loved Gwynfa and have been back for three years."

Rated 2 stars down as feel it need some a bit of love again- and as we were paying peak rate of £1100 expected a better experience . Small things like the bedside lamp shade held on by masking tape that fell off, no overhead light shade in the bedroom, curtain in master bedroom completely off the wall (although a remedial solution was found but wasn’t ideal as couldn’t be opened). The guestbook with info is falling apart and not complete (we had to hunt to find and work out the main bin) and it mentions a house keepers book which couldn’t be found. I was also surprised by the slight ‘meanness’ of what is provided in the cottage as supplies - no washing up liquid (even a small amount would have really helped), no soap in the loos, and loo roll only in the top not bottom bathroom, only 2 teabags so not enough for everyone. Our online delivery was 3 hours late so the tea bags was felt! It could also really do with a bbq (we had to use a disposable one on the floor) and some permanent garden furniture- we were not sure if you could take the furniture in the sun houses outside as so heavy? As I said- we have loved Gwnfa but I don’t know if I would book it again
