  • "Wow!!!"

What a week we had at Afallon! I honestly believe the photos don’t do this place justice! It is even better in person!!! Unreal views and an unreal house. My family and I will 100% be back again in the future. Pubs and beach a short walk away and cute villages a short drive away. Thank you to the owner for making us feel so welcome.

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, it means the world. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic house which was warm and welcoming when we arrived."

The weekend was lovely. The only negatives were that the wifi was pretty patchy and the driveway was quite steep. When I rang a taxi for the following day they refused to come up to the drive and didn't offer any alternative. We ended up driving, which wasn't part of the plan but we were soon back at the house for the rest of the evening. We didn't drink the wine left by the guest or the Bara Brith as we bought so much food we had tons to take away. A lovely gesture though :)

Thank you for such lovely feedback and for your 100% score, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The good news is that Fibre Broadband directly to the home is now available in our location so is being installed in March which will ensure a stable WIFI connection going forward. To be elevated to such a beautiful position with such a stunning view, the driveway does need to elevate but we have never had any issues or a taxi refusing to come up the drive before so it is such a shame that you had to experience this. Great news you have been in touch to return to the property too so we cant wait to welcome you back. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely but as per my complaint, that was closed without being dealt with, the hot tub wasn’t warm enough to be able to use it on the Friday night."

This isn’t acceptable when paying a premium for a cottage with a hot tub but only being able to use it one night out of the two night stay.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. The hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refilled after every booking to ensure everything is clean and safe for your stay. Once filled the hot tub can take up to 12 hours to get to the desired temperature which means that on occasion, it may not be at the full desired temperature on the first night of your stay. This is only done for your safety. We hope to welcome you again soon. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed the holiday home, the views were amazing and all rooms beautifully decorated."

The minor issues we had were dealt with by the property managers and host in a very polite and friendly manner. They requested feedback and seem to sincerely care about providing a nice holiday home for their guests. The area was also great with lots of things to do. All in all a great holiday.

Thank you for your extremely positive feedback, it is so kind of you. Such a shame that the high winds caused issues with the WIFI for you but pleased we could rectify it for you as quickly as we did. We cant wait for Fibre Broadband to come to the area in March 2022 to avoid any issues like this happening again. Thank you once again. Property Owner

  • "The cleanliness of the place could be better, it wasn't unclean by any means, but for the price you pay it was expected to be cleaner."

There are also a few areas which could be improved or included such as the back door being slightly out of line and the kitchen was lacking in the basics such as oils to cook. There is also no supply of charcoal or wood for the fire. Again, not a big issue, but you just feel it is lacking for the price you pay. All in all a lovely stay, and the views and location are great though, just needs a few finer details and attention to detail.

Thank you for such a high score of 88% for your stay at Afallon, it is much appreciated and is great to hear that you loved the location and views as much as we do. We do leave cooking basics for our guests but unfortunately, sometimes guests take them home by accident which leaves the guests directly afterwards without any until they can be replenished, so apologies this happened in your case. Thank you so much for your feedback regarding leaving logs or coal for guests, we haven't stayed in a property that has left this before so we didn't even think about it, but we think it is a great idea so we now leave a starter pack for both our open fires in the property for guests to enjoy. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "Booking the property was easy but staff did not have good knowledge about the property when I called to check details The property is really lovely and very comfortable but it does not sleep 10 adults - there are 2 doubles, 1 twin & 1 larger than a single size bunk bed."

Amazing view and lovely space to spend time together relaxing All the rooms are a good size and very comfortable The hot tub was a bonus that we all enjoyed Local pub the Gazelle was an easy walk with great food and service we would visit again but just with 8 people

Thank you for your wonderful feedback and I am so pleased you will be returning to us in the future - we look forward to welcoming you. The double bunk beds in the 4th bedroom are as described on the website, a small double and we have had many bookings with 10 people that have found them ample of space but it is of course personal choice. The Gazelle pub is definitely one of our favorites too, being able to look directly out across the straits in both directions is quite stunning so we are so pleased that you too enjoyed it. Hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "We loved the place!"

The only thing I would say is that for a British holiday a tumble dryer would have been useful. We didn’t find a washing line but that’s not to say there wasn’t one but it made drying clothes more difficult. There are probably a few areas that need some attention, like the conservatory door and the back door which have seen better days but it didn’t detract from our holiday and I would certainly recommend the place.

Thank you so much for your amazing feedback. We have a tumble dryer on order and although we do have an airer in the property - we will order another to ensure there is plenty of space to air clothes following washing them. Look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

  • "Views across the Menai Straits are amazing, from nearly every room."

Lovely holiday home. Well equipped house with large table that seats ten, nice decor throughout. Kids loved the hot tub. Would definitely recommend. Gazelle Hotel was great too and very close.

  • "The location is great and the view is amazing and we spent all our time in the conservatory."

The house is well appointed, however for the cost of the accommodation we felt that there should have been a tumble dryer, more equipment in the kitchen and at least basic condiments such as salt and pepper. The cleanliness was not up to standard, lots of dust under the furniture, the conservatory needed a deep clean as the windows and framed were very dirty. The wardrobes and draws in the front bedrooms were dirty and dusty so that you could not unpack your clothes. The double bunk beds were very squeaky and the top frame was dirty. One bathroom is also difficult when you have a large family staying, I think that the description states up to 10 people.

Many thanks for your fantastic feedback. Thank you so much for your suggestion for installing a tumble dryer - we now have one on order and will install when we next have an owner maintenance slot. We always ensure there are basic condiments in the property but unforetunately some guests take them home with them by mistake which is what had happened with yourself and the cleaners did not have time to replace before your visit. I have also spoken to the cleaners regarding the conservatory and although we ensure it is thoroughly cleaned on the inside, the window cleaners that clean the outside only attend once a month. We have however requested that they attend every 2 weeks instead now so thank you for your feedback. Thank you also for your feedback on the double bunk bed and the fact that it squeaks, we were unaware of this and so have ordered another one of these and will replace in September. Hope to welcome you back again soon. Property Owner

One thing to be mindful of is the fact the garden is not dog secure so dogs can easily run into woods or down drive onto road.
