! Kate was a gem…couldn’t say higher! The cottage, albeit could do with a touch up here & there, was warm, comfortable & extremely well situated for bars & restaurants in Menai Bridge. Delightful quiet area…..& lashings of hot water, which is imperative in my books…shower-10/10!!! Thanks you Kate x

It looks like a little cottage in a narrow street but once inside it’s quite big. It could do with a bit of TLC, the kitchen was well equipped with everything you will need. We stayed at new year and was a little cold at times. There are two electric fires but we couldn’t work out how to switch them on. I would stay there again.

The property is spacious and has everything there you néed. Location is good for exploring Anglesey, Menai Bridge is a lovely town, with pubs and restaurants you'd never get bored staying here. Lovely walks around church island. Our dog had lots of fun exploring, most pubs are dog friendly. Anglesey is my favourite place and can't wait to return.

and great for exploring the local area (The nearby Belgian promenade and St Tysilio's Church was a nice interesting walk) and Bangor is only a two mile stroll over the bridge. All in all, we had a great little break and Rufus the hound gave it five wagging tails out of five.

THE property was cosy with plenty of room & in a great location with shops and pubs near by , The small toilet has a bad design iwith the sink behind the toilet witch sprays up the wall when used witch is not very good and looking at the comments book has been like it a while and not rectified witch is not good maintance also the bedroom on the top floor the hand rail is loose coming out of the bedroom on the left and could be a bit more sturdy, The property could also do with a lick of paint to Brighton it up a bit in my opinion, and the property did smell a little damp, all in all we had a great stay for a few days to celebrate our daughters graduation at bangor University kind regards Mr CARLO Iaquaniello

  • "The cottage is lovely, ideally situated in Menai Bridge, within a short walk to shops, cafes and a very convenient Waitrose."

It's dog-friendly, although we didn't bring our dog, she would have liked it. One of the best equipped kitchens I have ever stayed in! Four spacious bedrooms and a lovely patio space outside for when the weather is friendly. Very convenient for visiting Anglesey and North Wales, high recommend trips to Beaumaris, Conwy, Snowdon etc. Only reason I haven't given it top marks is that I have mobility issues and hadn't quite realised that there is no step-free access to a loo (both are on first floor) and it was sometimes difficult to park near the house. Not a particular issue for us but the towels and bedding were a bit worn and some of the doors tricky to open, might be a problem with small children. But if these aren't issues for you this a lovely place to stay and I would definitely come again for the location.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Chwech, its location was close to family which made for a very happy Christmas."

The house was lovely and warm ( important in winter) and very clean. Towels and bedding were high quality too. Washing machine and tumble dryer were very much appreciated with small children. Kitchen was well equipped. New sofas would enhance the property and the option for a real fire isn’t available at the moment so maybe Sykes need to alter the listing. A electrical check on the lighting would be beneficial as not all switches worked first time. The owner was supportive and speedily responsive to any questions I had. Overall a great stay and we would return.

The house is spacious for a family and well located for town and local amenities. The views of the Menai Straits from the living room window seat was a bonus we weren't expecting! Cwech is well equipped with everything you need on holiday. The home isn't fancy but it is very comfortable, especially as we have dogs. We would stay again next time we're visiting North Wales.

  • "The house is well equipped however there are a few things in the house that just let it down making it feel more like a student house than a holiday rental."

There is no underlay underneath the carpets upstairs, the sofa cushions on the backrest of both the sofas are missing & have been replaced with scatter cushions, some of the pine furniture drawers & doors don’t open / close properly, the pine doors to the rooms upstairs don’t close or open properly possibly because the doors are thin & of poor quality. One bedroom door in particular is very difficult to open & our 6 year old struggled to do it on her own which presented a problem when she needed the toilet in the night. The dining room lighting is poor, dimly lit. The house requires modernising & some money spent on it to make it feel more luxurious & better quality.

  • "This is an excellent holiday house for a small group of people!"

The bed and sofa are so soft. We all enjoy cooking together. The spaces inside the house are large enough and wisely separated. Especially for the 4 bedrooms. There was an lovely outdoor space, and if we could be back next time, we want to try having breakfast there. If there were some minor shortcomings, I would say the sound insulation inside the house is quiet weak than I expected. Plus, we turned radiators at night but found the water circulation noise is quiet high for sleep.

  • "The house itself was lovely and exactly as shown in photos online."

Couldn’t recommend the house enough for the location and ease of exploring the island and nearby areas. The kitchen is full stocked with every pan and utensil you’d need, the beds especially the attic bed is amazingly comfy, great WiFi and a lovely sun/roof terrace. There are also some great restaurants by Menai Bridge just a couple of minutes walk from the house. I would definitely stay here again in the future. Also there was a lovely little welcome basket waiting for us with wine, milk, bread and welsh cakes which was a very nice touch so thank you! My only negative is nothing to do with the house but the booking process. I booked the house through Booking.com and then straight away received emails off Sykes cottages yet there was no mention of who they was. The emails then said they were running final checks whatever this was even though it had been booked. We received the key collection email when first booked but then no reminder closer to the stay so had to trawl back to find the key code etc which was booked months earlier. As much as the booking process was simple it’s nice to receive important information a day or couple of days prior to the stay which is good customer service. Like I said though the house was perfect, the host left information inside the house for the guests so I would definitely return in the future.

Bedding, towels and kitchen equipment are all of a high standard. There was even a slow cooker! Welcome basket really well stocked. House nice and clean. On road parking could be problematic at busy times. Location excellent for walking to restaurants and pubs.
