  • "The cottage was in a good location, smelt nice when you walked in, a lovely welcome pack but there are a couple of things that could improved on."

The bed was very soft and uneven on the side nearest to the door so it was like you were sleeping on a slope which didn’t give you a good nights sleep as you felt like you could fall out the bed. The snug room with the tv in the sofa was very uncomfortable as the Velcro arms kept moving, the back was very rigid so you couldn’t get comfortable at all. For these two reasons we wouldn’t stop at this cottage again unless they were changed

Thank you for your feedback about your stay at Rock House. The 2 improvements that you mention I will address. This is the first time we have had a negative comment about the comfort of the bed, in fact, I am reading through the reviews and it is generally mentioned as a positive point ‘such a comfy bed’, ‘the beds are sooo comfy’, ‘comfortable beds’, ‘fantastic nights sleep as the beds were really comfortable’ all from this season, so I’m at a loss how to resolve this one as it appears one persons comfort is another persons discomfort. With regards to the sofa in the TV room, as soon as there is a gap in the bookings we are going to swap it for an L shaped sofa which I think will work much better Property Owner

I have never smelled such a beautiful house, it was amazing. The garden area turned out to be the best, so well appointed, having breakfast outside in the shade area or the sunny spot with a view of the mountains and their outline, was really special. Fabulous shower and bath and such a comfy bed. Would certainly go back.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rock House."

Lorraine the owner, left us a lovely welcome hamper which was very much appreciated. She gave us some great recommendations for places to eat out. We had a problem with the wi-fi one day and she made sure this was rectified quickly. The house itself is lovely and we were very comfortable. There is a really nice decking area, which unfortunately due to the weather we never got to make much use of, but this would be great to sit out if the weather allowed. We all enjoyed our stay and enjoyed exploring the beautiful areas of Angelsey, we would recommend Rock House as place to stay

We were blessed with great weather and enjoyed time outside on the fabulous deck relaxing and enjoying the wonderful views. The house is well equipped with all mod cons, comfortable beds and a good shower. It was stormy on arrival so we had a toasty night in by the log fire. Day 2 I was applying sun cream on the terrace! Rock House provides a cosy cottage feel in a perfect location with many beautiful beaches and restaurants nearby. The outdoor area on a 3 tiered deck has more than ample seating for outdoor socialising and has stunning views of Snowdonia National Park and the Menai Bridge, it’s also a fantastic sun trap! Will definitely be returning with the family and booking Mount View next door (same owners) as well and making full use of the stunning terrace at Rock House. Cannot recommend highly enough and the owner Lorraine made sure we had everything we needed and left us super little welcome treats. Parking available directly outside the property too.

We were lucky enough to have warm sunny days during our stay and so were able to enjoy the lovely tiered sun trap of the terrace. It was so peaceful with only the sound of the birds and the wind chimes, really relaxing. We had fantastic nights sleep as the beds were really comfortable. • "We have just returned from a fantastic week away at Rock House and would highly recommend the property for anyone looking for a stay in Menai Bridge / Anglesey."

The images on the website look great but the property is much more spacious than they portray. We received a lovely welcome pack, which had been put together with great attention to detail and included treats for our 2 year old boy, the bottle of wine was very welcome after the drive over. Every room is finished to a very high standard and clearly Lorraine has good taste with interior design. The outdoor area has a number of decked levels with good quality rattan furniture to lounge on with a coffee / drink and look over the mountains and views across to the Britannia Bridge. We have stayed in a number of properties over the years in N Wales and a common complaint is the lack of kitchen utensils, crockery etc provided. This is certainly not the case @ Rock House, with good quality glasses, plates and cutlery. Location fantastic with a short walk down the hill to High St with plenty of options for cafes, pubs and restaurants, Waitrose a short walk away which was very handy. Communication pre and during stay was very welcomed, Lorraine provided a great list of recommendations for places to visit on Anglesey. There were tears from our son when we left, it really is a fantastic home from home, looking forward to visiting again soon.

  • "The location of the premises were excellent."

It was a quiet cottage and the host was kind enough to leave a lovely welcome pack. However, we had to clean the property again on arrival due to spiders/cobwebs and dog hairs downstairs. Parking is a nightmare. Twice being woken up to move the car for trucks as the road is not wide outside. Overall Menai is a lovely place, the cottage is nice and the host is very easy to contact. Outside is very well designed and the bed is very comfortable.

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay at Rock House but sorry and surprised to read about the cleaning as all other customers give that aspect a glowing report. As we had plenty of contact leading up to your stay and whilst at the property, I was even more surprised you had not advised me whilst you were there, as it could have been resolved immediately and I would have been able to alert the housekeeper. Rock House is delightful, quirky, clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped, and we really enjoyed our 5 day stay there. Lorraine, the owner, left the most generous welcome pack of foodstuffs we have ever experienced in a rented, holiday property - even including dog treats. We would return here anytime. The only criticism we have - and it is a very minor one - would be the use of the slate chippings on the path leading up to the front door. The path is quite steep (because the road is steep) - but the slate could make it a slipping hazard for anyone with mobility problems - luckily, there is a garden wall to hold onto. Apart from this - no problems at all, and we loved Rock House.
