  • "We had a lovely Christmas at Minffordd with extended family."

On Christmas Day our ages ranged from 2-93 and we were all happy. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and bedrooms airy and comfy too. Kitchen was well equipped too. And great to be able to get straight out on dog walks without the need to get in a car. Really great place for multi family stays.

  • "Lovely comfortable spacious holiday house, great for a family of 3 generations plus 2 dogs (an older lurcher and a middle-aged greyhound)."

Fabulous location near the most beautiful walks around Newborough nature reserve. The owners were very lovely, very helpful. We had a really great time and would highly recommend this house. (I'm adding a useful note for people with dogs who might want to know how secure the garden is: - we were not entirely confident that our large dogs could not jump/step over the wall at the front of the house (which faces straight onto the main road through the village), so we did not let them off-lead in the first part of the garden. This maybe ideal for smaller dogs though. There is also a very large lovely secluded garden (big enough for kids to play football) beyond the gate which we did let them run around while supervised - this is mainly very high hedges, with a small section of fencing / gates of about 4 foot. The very back boundary of the property is a bank with a small wire fence across the top, very overgrown with shrubs and weeds so my two more sensible older dogs did not attempt to push through, but if you have younger, smaller, more determined dogs or you visited in the winter months when the vegetation had died back you would need to be careful that your dogs do not escape through here. I hope that this information is useful, but please check first as each dog is different! Our dogs had a fabulous holiday and loved having some garden to run around)

The house was an excellent, easy to get to, base for Newborough Beach and many local attractions which the Grandchildren visited. It has a great layout for several families getting together with 3 shower rooms all with toilets and a lovely spacious dining room off the well equipped kitchen. Dogs were well catered for and could be kept in the utility room which has its own outside door into the very large garden. David, the owner, was easy to contact, helpful and flexible. We would recommend staying here and even had a Red Squirrel visiting the garden !

! Fantastic huge garden, due to brilliant weather we were able to sit out and bbq, whilst the children, and the dads!! played ball games. Just a 5 minute drive to the amazing Newborough beach and Island, it felt and looked like we were in the Caribbean! Well stocked shop just a few houses down the road, and an excellent chip shop with the biggest fish ever, everything we ordered cooked to order and big portions, very good value for money.

  • "We had a great week."

The location was perfect for us and we enjoyed the walk through the nature reserve to the pristine Newborough Beach (worth noting this takes about an hour). The large garden was great for the kids playing football, and for sitting outside to eat. The property felt spacious - large rooms, plenty of bathrooms, two living rooms etc. it was very handy having a shop & pub within 5 minutes walk. I was very grateful to David for posting back some items we accidentally left in the house. We’d stay again

  • "Comfortable house."

The listing pictures don't do the space justice. The breakfast table in the kitchen is a bit of a tight squeeze and a narrower island would be perhaps more practical. Otherwise there was loads of space for the 8 of us and could easily accommodate 10 adults. We loved the fact that none of the bathrooms were en-suite as we were a group of friends rather than a family. We would definitely consider going back again

Brilliant hosts who looked after our every need. Have travelled to Anglesey many times over the last ten years but this house became our number one "go to" for cleanliness, space (inside and outside),ideally situated for beaches, eating spots, superb chippie on doorstep. 99/100. Parking is tight on the drive, unless you have a small car I wouldn’t try it! The garden is super, so much space and nice to lie down and watch the *massive* sky and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen is really well equipped, we were cooking for 7 and there lots of serving dishes and big trays etc. Dining room/conservatory was my favourite room, spacious, big table, played lots of games on there. 3 shower rooms, luxury. Otherwise we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and could not fault the cottage which fully suited our requirements. Our only complaint was the difficulty in contacting your staff prior to our holiday and arranging for our booking to be brought forward by one week. We also found your endless bombardment with general advertising e-mails annoying - we only wanted e-mails about our specific booking! We now have a credit balance of £415 on our account, and as our booking has been satisfactorily completed, we request that this sum is refunded directly to our credit card during the next few days. We were comfortable although one bed in the attic was a tad lumpy for an adult. I did mention to David that blackout blinds would help in the bedrooms as at this time of year it's daylight for approximately 18 hours and the children aren't always aware that they don't need to get up with the birds when on holiday!!! Except for these two points it was a great destination and would not hesitate recommending to my friends.

It had everything we needed and more; from two fridges and a large cooker through to large dining table, three shower rooms and a delightful garden. Plenty of kitchen equipment meant that even the children were able to do a bit of cooking which they all loved. The house was big enough to house all nine of us with plenty of room to play, watch TV or read and to invite family and friends for meals. A forest car park is just minutes down the road where we enjoyed a ten mile walk through forest, sand dunes and beaches to the beautiful Llandwyn Island, voted the favourite activity of the holiday. David was the perfect host and we look forward to staying at Minfordd in the future.

Very safe enclosed garden for pets. Sheep in adjoining field. Only negative is beware of the very narrow drive into the property car parking spaces, tricky even with a small car . Easily scratch the car on wall and house.
