  • "We had a brilliant time at this amazing cottage."

We were looking for a peaceful and relaxing break away from the stresses of every day life and this cottage provided that in abundance. The house itself is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We especially liked the rainfall shower downstairs and the seaside theme of decoration. The views from the garden and upstairs windows were fantastic. We had coffee (courtesy of the Dolce Gusto machine and pods supplied) and Welsh cakes on the patio every day and just enjoyed the quietness and the views, whilst watching the passing boats. We had planned to do quite a bit of sight seeing whilst on Anglesey, but in the end hardly went anywhere because we enjoyed the cottage and Penmon Point so much. The owners left a really lovely welcome pack which included the aforementioned Welsh cakes and lots of other treats which we really enjoyed. We will definitely be booking to stay here again next year.

And we loved our stay. The only recommendation we would make is changing the sofas as they are not to comfortable.

Great place to get away from it all but a short drive to civilisation! Really clean and warm. We all loved it!

  • "Beautiful cottage with all we needed and more."

The area, Penmon Point, is spectacular and all of our party of 7 thoroughly enjoyed exploring the beaches, the surrounding area and the nearest town, Beaumaris. The owners couldn't have been more helpful, and quickly sorted out a small problem that we had. We would thoroughly recommend this property.

  • "The cottage is in a superb location in the NE corner of Anglesey, with fabulous views out over the coast to the mainland and, more locally, to Puffin Island and the Penmon lighthouse."

Despite being a little "out of the way", it's still only a 10-15 min drive into the busy and pretty town of Beaumaris and within an easy 30-45 min drive of mainland towns, Snowdonia and the rest of beautiful Anglesey. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and is plenty spacious enough for 5-6 people. The garden is dog-safe and enclosed, with great views. Really well-equipped kitchen, and we were really pleased to find the thoughtful gifts of milk, bread, beer and even dog treats on arrival! Would thoroughly recommend it as somewhere to get away from it all. Spent many an evening on the beach just below the house, watching the birds, seals and harbour porpoises until the sun went down.

  • "Coastguards cottage was excellent."

All we wanted and more. Storm Dennis was with us all week but the views from all rooms was enough to keep us happy. There was ample room for all 8 of us. Ages ranging from 6months to 82 years old. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back.

  • "We have stayed in a lot of self catering properties and I must say that 2 Old Coastguard House is the best we've ever experienced."

We stayed the first week of February and arrived in the dark, it was lovely that the house had welcoming lights on and was lovely and warm. There was a much appreciated welcome pack with lots of lovely local produce, plus the essentials of milk and bread. The house was extremely clean and we felt at home instantly. The house is beautiful and a lot of thought had gone into the decor and the dressing of the rooms. ( It has given me some ideas for when we re-decorate.) The facilities were great and there was everything we needed for our stay. The location - well wow !!!!! absolutely amazing. Fabulous views, lovely and quiet and lots of birds and wildlife. We generally never return to a property, because life's to short right ! We are, however, going to make an exception with 2 Old Coastguard House and will be returning next year. I highly recommend this property.

From here, you will enter a well-appointed kitchen/diner, completed with a fresh and neutral colour palette to complement the seaside theme and to provide a delightful area for hosting your family evening meals.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
