  • "The location of the propety and the garden is enormous for the children to play in plus a 5 minute walk to the costal path."

    spot on

  • "The weather was fantastic for the whole week & so this showed off the area & the setting of the cottage to perfection."

The location of the cottage is 5 star; the accommodation at the cottage is 5 star & the facilities at the cottage are 5 star. However, some of the decor, some of the furnishings & some of the kitchen utensils & crockery are rather tired & really do need updating. But overall we had a fantastic stay at the cottage.

  • "Gardd Llywarch is a very spacious, very comfortable and beautiful house set in a spectacular remote location mid-way between Treaddur Bay and South Stack."

We were two OAP couples each needing its privacy, and the house served us perfectly. April 21-28 was generally rather cold with strong winds and rain, but the house was always warm. For additional comfort we lit a fire in the woodburning stove, and we might have boosted the central heating once or twice had we been more confident about the controls. The kitchen is very well-equipped (work-surfaces seemed a bit sticky), but we did have particular difficulty in trying to master the microwave: an instruction booklet close to hand would have been very welcome. Garbage is collected early on Mondays but the boxes are hidden in the enclosed courtyard accessible from the rear lawn (‘back door’ is confusing) and visible (just in time!) only from the upstairs bedroom. The two main paths to the coast were disappointing, one because of its evident popularity with dog-walkers and fly-tippers, but both because the winter’s rainfall had converted them to impassable bogs. But these are very minor comments: Gardd Llywarch offers first-class holiday accommodation.

  • "The house and location was absolutely fantastic, the house itself was extremely comfortable and had everything you could wish for."

The location was extremely peaceful just what we were looking for. Plenty of opportunities for walking, bird watching and photo taking. We found that there were plenty of places to eat within easy reach. We were extremely lucky with the weather and would definitely consider re booking at a later date.

The property

Trearddur Bay 2 miles.

This detached cottage is situated on a remote headland, two miles from the ever-popular Trearddur Bay.

The cottage is down a quiet track and is 10 minutes’ walk from secluded sandy beaches, making it an ideal base for families and friends to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

This delightful cottage has been decorated and furnished to a high standard, and offers two living areas, both with a cosy woodburner.

One is in the bright summer room with bi-fold doors opening on to a terrace with panoramic sea views and a stone-built fire pit.

The other woodburner is in the main sitting room, with a more formal dining area together with a leather topped writing desk, which makes a welcome area to relax long into the evening.

There are four well-appointed bedrooms with a variety of bed layouts, making the living accommodation very flexible which will suit families and friends, particularly as three of the bedrooms boast en-suite bathroom facilities.

The gardens are lawned and spacious and there is patio seating to ensure you make the most of the superb, peaceful outdoor location and can enjoy the fresh sea air and distant sea views.

There is also a sheltered, enclosed, courtyard which is a fantastic suntrap all day long, and then in the evenings, you can light the fire pit whilst dining alfresco.

Doorstep paths lead onto the Anglesey Coastal Path and along to the Blue Flag National Trust beach at nearby Porth Dafarch, which is renowned for its coasteering activities, and where you can see guided groups jumping and scrabbling along rock faces perilously close to the sea.

This lovely cottage is in the South Stack Cliffs Nature Reserve and RSPB sanctuary and is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with a wide variety of birds and sea life to see all year round.

There are many attractions within driving distance of this comfortable cottage, including the South Stack Lighthouse itself, and a wide variety of water sports in Trearddur Bay.

Further afield, perhaps a fishing boat excursion or even a day trip on the Holyhead Fastcat to Dublin will appeal to you, although with so much on the doorstep, you may just want to park the car for the week and explore around the cliff tops on foot.

Whatever you choose to do, there is something for everyone at this lovely cottage.
