  • "Hello. Had a very lovely stay at your cottage."

Perfect weather too. Would have been nice to have had some tea towels though and maybe a bit more toilet roll.... Staircase was a bit narrow and took a bit of getting used to.... but a very quirky and overall comfortable place to stay and explore beautiful Anglesey

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at our cottage and that the weather which we ordered for you arrived in time for your visit!! We do apologise for any inconvenience that you may have experienced. We can only state that the provision of tea towels and an adequate toilet roll supply is, of course, our customary practice and all we can do is to try to ensure that such an anomoly is not repeated. • "Location was ok."

Cottage was a lot smaller than expected.Despite warning signs saying mind your head I managed to bump my head several times in the first few days.Spiral staircase was quirky but was surprised you couldn’t take a suitcase upstairs so had to take clothes out of suitcase before putting them inthe bedroom.Wi-Fi was virtually none existent.Kitchen because of the roof was extremely hot when the sun shone when you were cooking.

Thank you for your comments. We hoped that the description and photos of the cottage would have forewarned you of the issues you raised. In relation to your comments about the strength of the Wi-fi signal, no one has previously registered any concern. We would have anticipated that you would have reported this to Menai Holiday Cottages so that the problem could be resolved. We do not like to hear that any of our guests have been unhappy with their stay so it is disappointing for us to read your comments. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage, it was very clean and well decorated."

Bed very comfortable, and good facilities. Quiet location was a bonus. Helical staircase was interesting, but not really an issue. Definitely recommended. Thanks!

  • "Quite shocked to find only one way in and out No back door Not really dog ..."

Quite shocked to find only one way in and out No back door Not really dog friendly as floor is wood and our dog kept sliding on it No enclosed garden As for location - perfect- peaceful and beautiful views

Thank you for highlighting your reservations about the cottage. We apologise for any misconceptions regarding the facilities. However, the description offered on the web site includes photographs showing both the wooden floor and single entrance to which you have drawn our attention. We have now updated the written description to clarify these details. We do feel that, on the whole, the wooden floor is hygienically more practical for 'pet visitors' rather than carpet covering in the lounge. We are in the process of addressing the issue of ensuring the patio area in front of the cottage is fully enclosed to improve the security for pets. Property Owner

  • "3 Lon Fawr is a beautiful little cottage hidden away in the countryside."

It is compact inside but doesn’t pretend to be anything else. It’s full of charm and character and perfectly suited for 2 adults wanting to explore Anglesey. We had a lovely week in the cottage! The facilities were perfect and all clearly explained in the welcome guide. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable and we were kindly given the option to check out later on our final day which was an incredibly generous gesture! I would wholeheartedly recommend this cottage if you’re wanting a chilled out countryside retreat on Anglesey!

We are grateful for your positive comments and your appreciation of the nature of just what the cottage has to offer. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit and hope that, should you return to the island for a future break, you will consider another stay. Property Owner

  • "Cottage was lovely but very tiny."

No back door tiny front garden which led straight out onto Rd not at all secured so not suitable for dog. Very low beam into tiniest kitchen. Staircase upstairs was very narrow and steep. Hot water didn't run fast was only dropping through so couldn't take bath. We ended up leaving 2 days early. Cottage was lovely but was not very clean. Lots of cobwebs in corners and dusty on floors.

We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at the cottage. This is our first poor review and we would like to address some of the points you highlighted. The photographs and description on the website do draw attention to the small kitchen, narrow stairs, low beams over the doors and size of the garden. However, we have taken on board your comments about the lack of a garden gate and will attempt to address this concern. The welcome pack / file does explain the reason for the slow running hot water in the bathroom wash basin but the water pressure in the bath is strong and the bath does fill quickly. In relation to cleanliness, the housekeeper meticulously prepares the cottage immediately prior to guests' arrival but we cannot prevent cobwebs being formed after cleaning. A hand-held vacuum cleaner is available for guests to use, should they wish to, during their visit, as there is no housekeeping service during guests'stay. We will endeavour to make any changes that we can to improve our visitors time at our cottage as we would not want our guests to have a less than enjoyable experience . Property Owner

About the location

PENTRAETH

Red Wharf Bay 2 miles; Benllech 3 miles; Beaumaris 6 miles.

Pentraeth is a small attractive village on the banks of the River Nodwydd on the north-east coast of Anglesey. It has a village church that dates back to the 12th century and is located between Llanddona beach and Red Wharf Bay, which has over 4.5 miles of sandy beach. Red Wharf Bay’s Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and provides safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 6 miles away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris which boasts a 13th century moated castle, excellent shops, pubs, restaurants, bistros and museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. This is a great location on the east coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, yet only six minutes from the Britannia Bridge to access the mainland.
