  • "Plenty of space, good location."

    Could do with a bit of care and attention. The washing machine does not rinse therefore have to hand swill. No clotheshorse to hang wet clothes. Shower in attic room does not drain well.

    Everything was fine lots of utensils glasses cups ect only negatives was only one half of the toaster worked, poor reception on televisions and wifi not working in some parts of the house great garden especially if you have pets overall we had a really good time Thank you

  • "An enjoyable holiday and in making due allowance for the difficult conditions still felt this house lacked some basic essentials such as more than one knife fork and spoon per person, there were no hooks for wet coats anywhere, and we had to drape wet coats all round the dining area."

    Also no hooks on back of bedroom doors. Several light bulbs not working. We were appreciative of the new Bar-B-Q. Constructive comments I hope as although the weather was not good we had a good time.

  • "All guests had a fantastic couple of days."

    The property has a real 'wow factor' about it, was very clean, and exactly what we wanted. The only feedback that we have to improve the experience would be: - The check out time of 10am on day of departure is quite early for such a large property. Simple things like washing up after breakfast take time & it felt slightly rushed to get everything done + the property checked before leaving. 11 or 12 check out would make a huge difference for a small amount of time. - There were no tea towels at the property which seemed a little strange when bath towels are provided (unless is was just us that couldnt find them!?) - Some basic instructions for the cooker would have helped as we could only seem to get one oven to work.

  • "A really wonderful House in a magnificent setting."

    We had a great time there in the Winter but you could see how good it would be in the Summer with the lovely grounds and so close to the Beach.Shops and a great Pub nearby,we couldn't fault it. The only thing we did say was that the photos didn't do it justice!

  • "Bitterly, Bitterly disappointed in this property."

    Yes it looks great in the photographs but in reality quite the opposite. I booked this property for a special family occasion but it certainly did not live up to the five ticks given by Sykes. There are numerous maintenance issues with the property, some previously mentioned by past guests, which have not been rectified. We had problems with no heating/hot water, two bedroom radiators that still did not work even after the plumber had been out to rectify the fault on the ancient boiler, scalding hot water, the cooker which has one oven door that does not close properly and a second oven which is impossible to regulate, stained carpets, numerous other maintenance issues, very tired throughout. On stripping the bedding off the beds in the family room (first floor) before leaving, I was appalled to find the duvet, pillows and mattress protector soiled and stained !! absolutely disgusting.

  • "Our stay was great and the location was perfect for our needs."

    The property itself was a little tired but fine for the length of stay. We had slight issues with a leaky toilet downstairs (which we managed to fix), a small leak from the upstairs shower into the kitchen and had to declog one of the other shower drains to allow us to use it. The pool room was a great addition as were the extensive grounds for playing outside. We would certainly recommend the property for large groups wishing to stay together.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Tan Y Graig, the property was amazing!"

    Plenty of room for all of us to be very comfortable, the beds were as comfortable as sleeping in ones own bed. There are lovely views from the house and it is in a fabulous setting, I think that we were all slightly reluctant to leave. Would definitely recommend this property and look forward to the opportunity to revisit.

  • "We have just returned (13 adults) from a 3 night stay at Tan Y Graig Hall for a 50th wedding anniversary weekend."

    The hall is very tired and seems to have lacked any real care and attention for a while examples being, many light fittings were not working, windows either cracked or patched with black tape, damaged paint work, broken telephone socket, windows and paintwork in general filthy dirty, externally weeds everywhere including growing out of the guttering an the window cills ect the BBQ was rusty and full of water, I have photos of all of the above and more! The kitchen was tiny in comparison with a small table and chairs that seated 4 only and 2 of the cahirs are also broken, the range cooker is difficult to use and takes an age to actually cook anything. In the sitting room there is the smallest TV I've seen in years, again we need to fix the ariel to actually get this working. On a slightly more positve note the bedrooms and bedding were clean and comfortable and the supply of cutlery, bowls and plates ect were fine. All in all we were very very disappointed considering the price we paid and that that the owner also required a further £100 refundable bond on top of the holiday price in case the property was lnot left in a suitable condition upon departure! - I find this hard to understand when you take into account the condition of the property that its currently in. We all felt that this property has been neglected and in no way kept to the standard that you are advertising.

  • "Tan-y-Graig was a fabulous place to stay."

    The small things that could be improved on, were several of the window blinds were broken. Some of the lights didn’t work. The lock to get in to the pool table room was very stiff, and worries that the key may break in the lock. Despite this, it in no way spoiled our enjoyment of staying there.

  • "Me and my family stayed here over Christmas and had an amazing time."

    The home is beautiful and well kept. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Due to us staying over Christmas we were worried there might be things missing in the home for dinner etc, however this was not the case as everything was there. The grounds were lovely also. The bedrooms are lovely, especially the two biggest en suite rooms. There is plenty of space in the lounge and hall way/ dining area too for the children to play. They loved exploring the home. I would fully recommend this home for a holiday and would return.

  • "We all enjoyed our stay."

    The pool room an asset for teenagers. We did however find the kitchen small in comparison to the building, with the sink etc., so close to the doors. Not much room to manoeuvre. Could do with updating. Nevertheless, these are observations, not criticisms. I also spoke to a local lady who advised us not to park on the beach too close to sea as tide comes in from the river side. Good advise as we found out next day on visit to beach. Perhaps this could be noted for future visitors.

  • "Rather tired property with small kitchen (few working surfaces) - difficult to cater for 9 people."

    Had to borrow large saucepan from local pub. 2 frying pans had no non stick coating left. Large saucepan (on top of fridge) too filthy to be considered. No chalk for pool cues (again local landlord came to the rescue). All these quite minor beefs for a comfortable holiday. Great location - coast walks around Angelsey and Snowdonia within easy reach. Local pub - The Panton Arms - very welcoming.

    Lots of bedrooms, no shortage of bedding and a massive dinning table for dinner. We greatly enjoyed lunch in the beautiful gardens and it's proximity to the beach for the children.

    We were from 11-88 years of age! Everyone enjoyed staying at the property. The younger members also enjoyed the use of the games room. We had a very memorable long weekend in a grand property in a great location!

    In a very quiet and scenic area very close to the beach. Village about a mile away with very nice pub and friendly staff and landlord, taxi was very reasonable too. Lovely walks, and Red Wharf Bay, and nearby Beaumaris were our favourites.

Pentraeth is a small attractive village on the banks of the River Nodwydd on the north-east coast of Anglesey. It has a village church that dates back to the 12th century and is located between Llanddona beach and Red Wharf Bay, which has over 4.5 miles of sandy beach. Red Wharf Bay’s Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and provides safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 6 miles away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris which boasts a 13th century moated castle, excellent shops, pubs, restaurants, bistros and museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. This is a great location on the east coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, yet only six minutes from the Britannia Bridge to access the mainland.
