"Lovely cottage in a lovely area."
Very comfortable and cosy. Generally clean, although dog hairs on the floor under the table and dusty shelves where the crockery is stored. That aside, a lovely place to stay and it had all we needed.
"We had a wonderful holiday and are already planning a return trip."
The facilities were all as described and everything worked perfectly. The bed was very comfy. The location was exceptionally beautiful and the garden was wonderful. It was lovely for our two dogs to have such a nice big space. When we arrived, the fire was on and there were flowers and wine on the table and milk in the fridge. The owner is incredibly nice.
"The cottage was an excellent location to explore Snowdonia National."
Park, Anglesey & all the other lovely beaches of the North Wales coast. The cottages itself was super with everything you could need & most importantly a properly secured & enclosed dog friendly space which was a real bonus with stunning views. The only very slight negative point was that the sofa wasn't overly comfortable but that is often the case when sitting on a sofa bed. Everything else was just perfect for a couple & their four legged companion. Thank you
"We had a wonderful week away in this cosy cottage."
Perfect location in beautiful surroundings and the location is perfect for exploring Snowdonia. The cottage was well equipped for self catering and nicely decorated. On arrival we met Maureen the lovely owner. She left some fresh cut flowers, a bottle of wine and some milk which was nice. I personally found the mattress very soft and the pillows were quite lumpy. But still slept reasonably well. Overall we had a fabulous stay and thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and surrounding. Great for the dogs who had plenty of treats and toys to play with in the large garden. We would stay again! Thank you Maureen!
Thank you very much for your helpful comments we are glad you enjoyed your stay and the surroundings. We have now replaced the mattress for a newer one that isn't as soft. We hope to see you again! Property Owner
"Lovely cottage and well equipped for self catering with a good selection of glasses crockery and cooking utensils."
The oven instructions would have been helpful. Great location and lovely to have milk tea and coffee and a bottle of wine arrival. Fresh flowers on the table were a lovely touch too. Some of the light bulbs did not work and the tv remote didn’t work either. The garden furniture needed cleaning as covered in moss lichen and bird mess but there was an outside tap for this. Useful local info was available. It was very hot so a fan would have helped with a bit of airflow. Bed is a good size but mattress very soft and not comfortable if you need more support.
"Overall Feedback: We had a lovely stay at Beudy Hywel."
It's a beautiful cottage in the perfect location to explore. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the owner, who recommended her favourite places to visit and kindly left us fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and some milk in the fridge. We loved driving/walking through the field and watching the wild rabbits have fun in the garden. The views from the cottage are stunning. Considerations: For anyone with a bad back, I personally didn't find the sofa or the main bed very comfy, but with lots of cushions it was manageable for a short stay. There isn't a washer/dryer at the property. After experiencing the unpredictable Welsh weather, in hindsight we would have benefited from one - especially travelling with a toddler after trips to the seaside, or outings in the rain.
"We had an amazing holiday at Beudy Hywel with our 2 teenage daughters."
The Sofabed worked out fine and we loved all the welcoming touches with Wine, Tea, Milk Coffee etc, it makes such a differences after a long drive. The cottage is just as seen in the photos and a great location to explore Snowdonia. Recommend Zipworld for kids and we went to the theatre in Llundudno which was something different and a very good production. and the cottage is close to all the other Snowdonia villages and beaches that we enjoyed as well. Can't recommend the cottage enough and the owner was very friendly and helpful.
"The cottage and it’s garden were really excellent; we had a great time and found everything to be perfect us."
"Great cottage and knowledgeable, thoughtful host."
Beautiful views and everything we could have asked for. Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet haven in Snowdonia.
"Excellent property,exactly as described."
Owner attentive but not intrusive. Will return again and recommend.
"Beautiful cottage in a lovely location."
The cottage has a high standard of cleanliness and is stylishly well furnished. A perfect place for a holiday with a friendly welcoming host. Would highly recommend the cottage and would stay here again without hesitation.
"Such a beautiful location."
The owner made sure
"An absolute gem of a find."
Everything at the cottage that you needed. It was clean, cosy and in an idyllic location. The paddock is amazing and our dog enjoyed himself exploring. We will definitely be back and it’s the ideal place to recharge your batteries.
"The cottage is perfect for a break with your four legged friend."
The garden area is large and secure and perfect for dogs to enjoy. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The owner left us some treats for the dogs which was a lovely touch. A bottle of wine on arrival was also a welcome treat. We would definitely return, the area is perfect and not too far away from lots of lovely places to visit.
"A beautiful cottage."
We had the prefect stay at Beudy Hywel. It had everything needed and more by a family of four. We were warm and comfortable. The kitchen had everything that would be needed . The bathroom was perfect having a shower and a bath. The garden is so well presented and although the weather was not for sitting out in during our stay, we could appreciate how lovely it would be to sit outside with the chimnea lit. Lovely little extras provided for us and our dogs. Very thoughtful touches. We would love to stay here again.
"Excellent holiday let."
Good communication. Ideal for a couple and a good base for walks. Dog friendly.
"We have had a lovely peaceful week."
Thank you so much. David and Deborah Watts and Beth, our mini schnauzer.
"Cottage was lovely."
The photographs of it’s beginnings is worth a look, very interesting.. Fantastic location, peaceful and amazing scenery. The garden was perfect for my dog. Cottage is a bit difficult to find when you first arrive. Maureen the owner is a very friendly lady.who lives close to hand if you have any questions. Excellent holiday, would definitely return.
"A beautiful setting."
Peaceful and quiet with a lovely garden and wonderful views. The cottage is cosy and had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our break and the chance to recharge our batteries. Our little dog loved the garden. We feel upgrading the TV to a Smart TV with better WiFi speed would be a huge improvement, although this would not stop us going back. The owner, Maureen, made us feel very welcome. We would happily visit again.
"We really enjoyed our stay in North Wales."
There was so much to see and do we couldn’t fit it all in! The property is really good value for money and if anyone is going to North Wales I will recommend it.
"The owner Maureen is lovely and welcoming."
The property has lovely views looking out towards the Snowdonia mountains from the large paddock adjacent to the walled garden. The garden and paddock is fenced off, where dogs can roam free, but need to be on a lead outside the farm gate where the sheep are. Between the gates the gravelled track is a sharp incline and quite a walk. The property is very warm and has good heating and hot water. The bath doesn't have handrails so my hubby had to opt for the shower. The 2 toilets are a bonus, the induction hob takes some getting used to as we had never used one but instruction books are left underneath. I felt it could have done with a bigger fridge, we couldn't fit everything in and it was low down. It feels remote but you soon get out in a couple of minutes onto the A4086 4 miles to Caernarfon where there are plenty of supermarkets etc I would recommend this property and would stay again but for the 8hr journey it took us.
"Great location for exploring the area."
Lovely clean house, good facilities, pleasure to stay.
"We really enjoyed our stay the location was just perfect for us and we will return."
Can their be a sign for the cottage on both sides of the driveway from the road, because after going over the bridge and up the hill there is no indication of the cottage on the right.
"Lovely property with everything you need, often stay at locations and find things cheap n cheerful, not the case here."
Well maintained property with all the essentials you would need for a comfortable stay. Ideally situated within easy reach of Snowdon, Anglesey and areas of North Wales for those who are able to take advantage of the surroundings. Bonus for us during our stay was the newly born lambs (some only a day or two old) in the field and watching them grow in a short space of time. Maureen the owner very nice, and helpful with local knowledge. We will be back again defiantly for a second and maybe third helping. Thankyou for a lovely break.
"We absolutely loved our stay at Beudy Hywel."
The accommodation is beautiful and has everything you need. The location of the property is also great, as it’s close to lots of beautiful places such as Llanberis which myself and my family enjoyed visiting. The owner was so helpful and lefts lots of advice on places to visit etc, there were also lots of little touches left by the owner when we arrived, which we didn’t expect. Our dog was also well catered for, with a dog treat, blankets and bowls. We would love to return to this property.
"The cottage is beautiful in an ideal location to explore North Wales."
Very well presented and the owner was so lovely and friendly. Have stayed twice and would definitely stay again.
"Lovely, comfortable cottage in a fantastic location."
After some very wet and windy walks up and around Snowdon the cottage was really great to come back to and relax. It had everything we needed, Rusty was very happy with his doggy bits and pieces. The cottage smelled lovely and fresh when we walked in. It's in a brilliant location, out of the way, but not too remote that you can't get to anything. Just perfect! Thank you Maureen, we will definitely be back!
"Beautiful cottage with stunning views."
Fully equipped with everything you need for the week and more. Lovely box of goodies for the dog. Location was great for us and very quiet. We will definitely be back.
"This property was idyllic and just what we needed to have a well earned rest."
"Lovely cottage, perfect for a week-long family holiday (with two Primary-School-Age children)."
The bed was extremely comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the cottage beautifully presented. The garden and paddock offered lots of space for the children some independence to play. The views towards Snowdon were fabulous with a cup of tea in the morning (or a glass of gin in the evening)! Perfect location for exploring both Snowdonia and Anglesea. Would thoroughly recommend visiting nearby Padarn Lake/Country Park - book in advance if you want to hire water sport equipment, though!
"The cottage is a little gem, so very pleased we found it."
It is set on the edge of a village with good facilities, but the approach to the cottage is quite surprising, along a track across two fields, then the cottage appears to be set in the middle of nowhere! So very quiet and peaceful, a pretty garden and bbq area, with views of the mountains, gorgeous! The cottage itself certainly had the 'wow factor', well equipped and furnished, comfortable bed and lovely shower, everything you could need for a holiday away from it all. It is a perfect base for exploring the area and Anglesey, lots of places to visit, would recommend the garden centre Fron Goch at Carnarvon for their coffee and scones, and plants too, of course! Warm welcome from owner Maureen, lovely lady, helpful but not intrusive. The milk in the fridge and wine were appreciated.
"Excellent accommodation in a fantastic position overlooking Snowdon."
Margaret has thought of everything including nice little extras for the dogs. Definitely recommend and would stay again.
"This location has so much to offer."
The cottage is lovely, very well equipped and comfortable and offers wonderful views and local walks. Welcoming touches such as milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine were most appreciated.
"Lovely cottage and lovely location…."
Perfect to explore north Wales … We were a family of 4 and a dog and the garden was great for playing and relaxing with the lovely views!
"This was a delightful cosy cottage, furnished to a high standard in a wonderful setting, We will certainly be going back"
"I have to say from the moment we walked into this cottage we instantly felt at home."
It was so cosy and warm and had everything you could wish to have. Had views of Snowdonia from the large garden and was in a very good location for visiting the area. We visited to the 2 local pubs in the village, the Glyntwrog did do food and for all we didn't eat there i have to say it did look very nice. Both were only a short drive but probably a good 20 minute walk away. I would recommend any couple to visit this cottage and will definitely return ourselves
"Peaceful location perfect retreat for a relaxing break."
The owner was friendly but respects privacy. Everything you require both at the property, nearby and the location is perfect for exploring Snowdonia whilst avoiding crowds perfect get away for two during the current covid 19 crisis.
"We had a lovely holiday - we went as a couple with our dog - perfect base for exploring the area."
The cottage was exactly as shown in the photos and very well equipped - we had a bottle of wine in the fridge when we arrived which was a nice thought.
"Our second visit to a great little cottage - all was as we remembered it - fabulous place"
"This is our "go to" cottage in Snowdonia."
For us we would consider no other. This is our 6th visit and the cottage is just fantastic and feels as new as the first time we went. Beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. Warm comfortable ticks all the boxes. Our home for home
"The field full of sheep with 2 gates to open can be a bit tricky to navigate, particularly in the dark & if it's muddy."
Definately recommend a good torch & wellies in winter. Apart from that it's beautifully appointed cottage with all the facilities you need, with a fantastic view & peaceful setting, especially with the bunnies outside first thing in the morning. Easy access to Llanberis & Caernarfon, plus the pretty village of Beddgelert is not to far either.
"The cottage is located in a peaceful spot surrounded by sheep, wonderful location."
"The cottage is in the perfect area for the whole of north west Wales."
Equipped with everything you need and beautiful grounds to relax in after a busy day visiting the area. Easy and convenient commutes to Anglesey, Conwy and Colwyn Bay. Yet the cottage is snuggled at the end of a quaint looking field which plays host to some sheep and a family of rabbits. Beautiful views of Snowdon and over Llanrug. The journey to Llanberis is a mere 10 minutes where there is not only the start of the Llanberis path up Snowdon and the Snowdon Mountain Railway but also the beautiful Lake Padarn, the country park and the Lake railway. Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog is a 45 minute drive through the fantastic Snowdonia mountain range. We will definitely be coming back again soon.
"The team at Sykes are very helpful."
The cottage is a lovely building, well converted and comfortable inside. Facilities are good, including outside seating and space. Pub within walking distance is dog friendly.
"We Have never been disappointed by Sykes."
"What a fantastic little cottage."
It has it all - comfortable, cosy, beautifully appointed, stunning views, some fantastic little touches (unexpected WiFi for example!) which I won’t detail because they are a lovely surprise, especially if you’re there with your dog like we were. Had a wonderful weekend, very relaxing, great location for Llanberis but also central to the whole of Snowdonia. For example, one evening we went for dinner at the far end of Anglesey and it was only 30 minutes back. Thank you!
"A lovely cottage in a very peaceful setting."
Good low level walking from the door and mountains a short drive/bus ride away.
"Every detail of the cottage was perfect, From the approach through the fields and then then this beautiful cottage came into view."
Will definitely visit again.
"The cottage was lovely everything you wanted very comfortable lovely setting."
Wild life was amazing. Very local to all main attractions very easy to get to.Would definitly go there again
"We’ve been back twice now and we absolutely love it."
The owner is so lovely.
"A wonderful cottage in a lovely setting, perfect location for all of the local things to see and do."
Maureen was very welcoming, friendly and kindly left milk, wine and fresh flowers upon our check in. She also was really helpful with ideas for places to go. Thank you, we had a really special holiday.
"Gorgeous cottage, a real home from home."
Lovely and cosy after a day out in snowdonia. Great location, easy access to Snowdon, Caernarfon and Anglesey. Spotlessly clean and fully equipped kitchen. Great garden with views of snowdon, we loved watching the lambs in the adjoining paddock and the rabbits. The cottage owner is very helpful and friendly but not obtrusive. Definitely somewhere to go back to again!
"A lovely owner and a lovely property!"
A perfect base for exploring Snowdonia and North Wales.
"A wonderful cottage, felt at home as soon as we arrived."
Contacted by the owner to ensure we were happy with everything.
"Our second visit to this lovely cottage, and another warm welcome from Maureen."
Lots of extra little touches to make our stay special, and the dog was very well catered for too. So warm and cosy, and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely to get up to. Perfect place to get away from it all for a week, and for exploring Snowdonia.
"This lovely converted barn is ideally situated to explore both the mountains and coast."
The owner provided us with a lovely welcome pack, including a bottle of wine, as well as a welcome pack for our two dogs! We arrived in Storm Callum however, the barn was very warm and cosy! We have stayed in many cottages over the years but this is by far the best we have stayed in! It's layout is perfect for a couple with the luxury of two toilets and a bright en-suite bathroom. It has been well designed and furnished to a high standard with a modern and bright finish. It also benefits from its own WiFi rather than having a poor signal from the owner's property.
"The location was ideal."
Nice for exploring Snowdonia.
"Ideal cottage for walking with lovely views."
...very comfortable bed....having two toilets is handy....in general a comfy warm cottage to come back to after a hard day's walking....
"A lovely cottage, like a second home, well equipped and to a high standard."
quiet location and helpful owner. Highly recommended for a couple (and dogs).
"Lovely cottage, great location, worth opening the 2 gates to get there!"
Lovely comfortable bed and bedding, nice bathroom and spare toilet. Didn’t see sight nor sound from the owner, only rang her on arrival day as broadband wasn’t working, which we sorted ourselves. Got snowed in on 3rd day, couldn’t get car out at all! Nice and cosy warm and comfortable cottage with great views, hope to return some time. Did have a couple of issues with cleanliness as several cooking utensils needed washing, the table runner was covered in other people’s old food ( yuk, I washed it!) and several cobwebs especially in the window recesses. Think we left cottage cleaner than we found it! Having said that we would still return.
"Best equipped cottage I’ve ever been too."
Cosy, warm, secluded yet not isolated at all. Local shop a few minutes drive away had everything we needed. We stayed over Xmas and there were even presents for my 2 dogs (a lovely touch). Not sure who enjoyed it the most, us or the dogs.
"Had a lovely week at Beudy Hywell was exceptional, ideally located for Snowdonia mountain range we couldn't have asked for more it was so warm and cosy just loved it."
The owner had thought of everything and should be very proud to own such a beautiful place .
"Had a lovely relaxing stay."
Cottage was clean, comfortable and a lovely location. Will certainly stay here again if we’re in the area.
"Very central spot for visiting all the things to see and do."
The house itself is comfortable. Also very quiet, we slept very well! Relaxing place in a beautiful spot.
"Wonderful cottage ideal location for walking up snowdonia, plenty of good walks near by, good local pub for food."
There is no washing machine but who wants that when your away
"Perfect break, lovely cottage"
"Cottage was just wonderful"
"A superb renovation making a wonderful holiday home."
Comfortable, clean, well equipped and fabulous mountain views. Well placed to explore Snowdonia, Anglesey and the North Wales coast. Also beautiful sheep in the fields leading up to Beudy Hywel !

Llanrug 1 mile.
A delightful, detached barn conversion, set in its own 1/2 acre of rough paddock, on a secluded part of the owners' land on their sheep farm, one mile from the village of Llanrug, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park in scenic North Wales.
This charming single-storey Llanrug cottage has been superbly renovated to offer light, airy and spacious accommodation, with an entrance hall that leads to an open plan living area with fully fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area.
The living area boasts a galleried ceiling, revealing exposed oak beams, plus an inglenook fireplace houses a remote controlled feature fire, and there is the added bonus of a corner sofa, which converts into a double bed.
A door leads through into a small dressing room and then into the king-size double bedroom with stylish en-suite bathroom.
Outside this Snowdonia cottage is a pleasant patio and lawned garden, which has a 'canal' water feature and provides an ideal place for enjoying a meal or cold drink on a sunny evening.
Herb and rockery gardens are also in the grounds, and guests have access to a paddock area where elevated views towards Snowdon Mountain can be seen.
This Llanrug cottage is approached via a private gravel track across sheep fields, which gives it a great feeling of isolation, however, you're only a 5-minute walk from the local village pub.
An outstanding Snowdonia cottage surrounded by countryside walks, ideal for romantic getaways or activity weekends whenever you wish.
About the location
Llanberis 2 miles; Caernarfon 4 miles; Betws-y-Coed 15 miles.
Llanrug is a small village with two pubs, two shops, a Post Office, a hotel with indoor swimming pool and fitness room, and a 9 hole golf course is nearby. The village is situated in the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountain Range, only 3 miles from famous Llanberis. Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris, and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. Llanberis is something of a 'mecca' for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdonia Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Llanberis boasts excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. Just 4 miles from Llanrug, on the coast, is Caernarfon with its magnificent 13th century castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd and many wonderful beaches.
