  • "Great property which felt like home away from home."

Super nice it is dog friendly and clearly only let to responsible pet owners. I actually left an item of clothing behind (on the back of a door) and head house keeper Mel, very kindly posted back to me within a couple of days. Our family all agreed we would have no hesitation in staying here again.

We try hard to accommodate four legged guests - I know how important they are! Thank you for your comments. I’m glad you had a lovely stay. Property Owner

There was nothing we didn’t have to hand, and everything we needed for our family Christmas was available. The house is in an excellent location with views to all sides and from every room, the property felt cared for and loved! We had a wonderful week and would highly recommend.

Thanks so much Stephanie.. I’m really pleased you had a great Christmas at Ty Llywd! We look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

Lovely and spacious and spotless. Plenty of storage for clothes and the kitchen was well equipped. The property was nice and warm, but we did use the log burner in the evenings as it was nice to see the flames. Garden was well kept and we had a pheasant visit us everyday . Plenty of parking . You could not fault this house. It was perfect.

Glad you had a lovely winter stay and met Ty Llywd’s pheasant friend! We work very hard to get things right so your positive comments are appreciated. Property Owner

  • "Our 2nd visit and overall an enjoyable week made especially so due to the fantastic weather!"

The reasons for returning stood up again so the excellent location and views, homely and very comfortable house, and the outside space especially the decking. However, although not significant we too felt the standard of cleaning wasn’t as it should be for a property of this standard and price. The downstairs bathroom particularly needs a thorough clean to include behind the toilet and skirting boards. On this visit there were also examples of a few minor maintenance issues incl. an outside chair with a broken arm due to rot and we pulled to one side to avoid accidents. A kitchen cupboard door was half hanging off when we arrived due to a worn bracket, the upstairs toilet cistern needs attention as does the sink hot water tap. None of these worthy of immediate attention during our stay but equally when choosing to return to a property it’s often the detail that influences that decision.

Thank you for your feedback which i have passed onto my housekeeper and her team. I can confirm that the broken chair has now gone, the cupboard door screw tightened and the dripping tap resolved. Ty Llwyd has been treated to an exterior paint, new slide off the decking, new TVs, new loo seats, new oven extractor fan and new carpets throughout so is looking great! Property Owner

  • "We have just returned from a lovely family week in Ty Llwyd."

This is the fourth time we've stayed here but unfortunately on this occasion we found the house to be dirty and in some need of maintenance and repair. The downstairs bathroom hadn't been cleaned (there were still wet towels in the room) and all carpets and floors showed evidence of copious dog hair. I did hoover the house throughout and the hoover itself was very full and generally dirty. Garden furniture cushions again full of dog hair. The house is clearly very popular and well used but there is now evidence of leak and damp damage and it needs a deep clean. The TV Aries in the small lounge was broken but my husband was able to fix this. So it is now working. We love Ty Llywd and its layout and location are perfect but we would want to be assured of better maintenance and cleaning if we were continue to use this property and menai cottages.

Hi Liz I am so sorry that you didn’t find the house as clean as you expected. My lovely housekeeper has taken this up with her team. They spend six hours cleaning between each guest, and will have certainly cleaned the downstairs bathroom, albeit the floor may have been wet from mopping. I know there are a couple of small damp patches on the walls under the window seat (which is the downside of the Welsh weather!) I am getting these painted next weekend. I believe my housekeeper contacted you before your visit to let you know the previous guests had alerted us to an underfloor leak which was attended to by an emergency plumber, leaving a small watermark on the carpet. I hope you enjoyed the lovely weather last week and that we see you again at Ty Llywd. August: TVs have been replaced and the outside of the house has been painted, decking cleaned and new carpets fitted throughout. Property Owner

The property is well maintained with a nice garden and decking which would be fantastic in the summer - unfortunately albeit a warm October it wasn't quite warm enough for us to take advantage on this occasion. Very well equipped in terms of kitchen eqpt etc. We had a slight maintenance issue but communication with the owner was very quick and easy and everything was sorted. Would definitely stay here again - hopefully when warm enough to use the decking.

Choice of two lounges, both with very comfortable sofas & both with TVs. Large very well equipped kitchen & lovely conservatory. Comfortable beds with good quality bedding & bath sheets provided. Fabulous garden, not overlooked at all, with a large decking area with sea views, garden table, chairs, seating, perfect for watching the many visiting birds (due to it being so hot we put water out for them). We even had a visit from a female pheasant & her 6 chicks! There's also a barbecue. Very handy for the Seacroft restaurant & public house just over the road & a pleasant walk along the bay to the Sea Shanty & The Oceans Edge. Have visited Trearddur several times over the years, but this is our first time at Ty Llwyd, we didn't want to leave & hopefully will be back. Thank you.

In all honesty it’s very hard to find any fault but there were a couple of safety points that would Have helped . The downstairs shower could do with a shower mat as it was a bit sloppy and the head height as you go upstairs could do with a warning . Other than that I would Fully recommend it . Many thanks

We felt there was a view from each window and the beds & linen were extremely comfy, it felt like home. The property was spacious and we particularly liked the open kitchen/conservatory. Amazing view from lounge and would love to stay... with one change!!! However as per previous reviews, the oven doesn't work and as per previous clients it really does impact you when there's 8 guests staying over new year!! It never gets up to a hot temp, you can just about do a pizza in almost an hour. Most annoying is that I even emailed prior to the stay to ask if it had been fixed/replaced but got no reply. At £1,200 for the week can you just replace it!!!!

Thank you for your useful feedback- it's lovely to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the location and views from Ty Llwyd. Regarding the oven, I can assure you that I tested the main electric oven (one of two ovens) just before your stay, and after feedback from a previous guest it was double checked by an oven technician with no faults found. The range does however have a variety of options for settings, so I have therefore produced a new instruction sheet to assist when using the oven Property Owner

  • "The house commands a great position, but doesn't exactly overlook the bay as described in the profile which was disappointing."

The interiors were tired and in need of freshening up. I've stayed in many holiday properties on Anglesey and I do not understand why this one commanded a £100 household deposit. The windows, TV and mirrors were dirty, there were cobwebs everywhere and several lightbulbs out. It was nice but over-priced. I'd expect higher cleanliness, decoration and furnishings. Saying that, the house was warm, the wifi was great and the kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped.
