  • "We stayed in the same property just after lockdown in April 2021."

The setting and house as a whole are still great and it is such a beautiful area. However, this trip we had no WiFi for the whole time we were at the house and with two teenagers this is expensive in terms of data. The boiler was faulty when we last visited and I must say it’s not really improved. It’s very loud and made some extremely strange and worrying sounds. Finally the shower tray still fills with water like it did in April 2021. I think it’s time for a few bits to be updated

  • "Great place to stay, very comfortable and close to the beach, shops and eating places."

Conservatory is a nice room to eat but we would have preferred a couple of chairs in there rather than what seems an unnecessarily large table. We can imagine this was very smart when first converted but is now looking a bit tired in places, like the bathroom. Also we had to go out to buy camping chairs to sit in the garden as the ones provided were so uncomfortable. Despite these quibbles this is a nice place to stay. The hot tub was great although we were there during a heatwave so it got less use than it might otherwise have done.

As many others have said would really benefit from a fence to enclose the garden. We booked knowing there wasn’t one. The main room has 2 twin beds which were zipped and linked with a mattress topper. Multiple bulbs were out and all but one remote had batteries corroded. Meaning we couldn’t use the dvd player. The fridge the light didn’t work either

The accommodation was very well maintained with everything needed so a comfortable stay and great for families. The hot tub was a great extra to have. Lots of lovely costal walks close by. Would highly recommend staying at this cottage and we will definitely be returning.

No sense of privacy in the garden. Bed was comfy and generous supply of towels and robes too

  • "We were trying to do some baking/cooking but there was a bit of a shortage of utensils in the kitchen."

Apart from that, we fully enjoyed the week, especially being so close to the prom, sea and also restaurants where we enjoyed fabulous dishes. We brought our dog, Max and he loved being so near to the beach and sea, and the café/restaurants are very pet friendly-being able to take him inside with us and Max was happier to be inside with us. We stayed in one of the Tyn Towyn cottages across the road last year and saw The Stables from there which I booked straightaway as it was so suitable for our needs, having a downstairs bedroom and bathroom-my sister and I both have disabilities and it was ideal. The hot tub was a big hit with my Support Worker who brought us but unfortunately we go in for health reasons! I would certainly book again.

Welcome pack was appreciated. A few things need looking at. Bin in kitchen and bathroom both broken. Kitchen could benefit from more accessories eg mixing bowls, fish slice, more mugs ( because of dish washer). We were only given two bin liners and two toilet rolls. Some plastic glasses to use in hot tub would be a good idea.

The hot tub is a great addition but the garden would benefit from a gate especially as the cottage is pet friendly. Laundry facilities on site is a bonus and we really appreciated the welcome bottle of bubble and packet of Welsh cakes. Whilst the location is beautiful and really close to the sea there isn't alot to do in trearddur bay itself. If your happy to take day trips out and about there are lots of things to do within an hours drive.

Wanted somewhere to relax and unwind and the house was a perfect place to do so. At a very windy and cold time of the year, the house was warm and cosy. The welsh cakes and bottle of bubbly on arrival were a lovely surprise too. The bed was large and comfortable and the house clean and tidy. The shower cubicle perhaps needs updating but apart from that, everything was just perfect. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to relax and head off to the beach for log walks and take in stunning views of the bay. 10/10 :)

Kitchen well equipped with all cooking essentials, gas stove, oven, microwave, utensils, fridge freezer, plus a dish washer which was a luxury as don't have one at home. Hot tub was lush & private, caretaker Kelvin was only a text or phone call away, as I did have to text and ask for WiFi password as had been taken down in the house, but he was helpful and replied quickly. • "The lower score for cleanliness relates mainly to the fact that previous guests had left baking trays and pans with remnants of food in them in the cupboards and this had not been noticed or addressed."

With Covid-19 being an issue I felt that there should have been more attention to detail with regard to cleanliness and hygiene. That being said, we were supplied with wipes, antibacterial spray and some hand sanitiser which was an excellent touch. The rest of the cottage was clean and exactly what we expected. It was a lovely holiday and we spent the days exploring the island (mainly the local coastline which is stunning). The hot tub gave us the perfect end to each day. Local restaurants are all within easy walking distance (15-20 minutes) and we had some lovely meals. Biggest surprise was the Sea Shanty Cafe which was not at all what I expected (but in a good way!)

The only thing we were unaware of was that the garden was not fully enclosed. Luckily our dog is well behaved and didn't stroll off. There was nice touches such as towels and bathrobes for the hot tub and the bottle of Prosecco for New Years Eve. It was lovely to all relax in the lounge on the amazing sofa and also have meals around the table. The only downside was on New Years Eve when the area had a powercut at 5pm. This was unfortunare as we was planning a night in and had got a lot of nice food in for us. We waited for 2 hours and then was informed from the website that it could be another 3 hours before it was restored. We had no torch in the house apart from out mobiles, which would not last another 3 hours and it was getting cold. I had called the caretaker when it originally happened, but we had no other contact. At 8pm we left the house, after packing up by torchlight and returned home. We was unable to stay in the house any longer with no electric, heating or torches as our phones were loosing power. The only thing we were unable to complete before leaving was the hoovering of the hall. I hope that the house was to the owners satisfaction. We were sad that our trip had ended in such a way.

  • "Enjoyed a long weekend at The Stables."

It's a 2 minute walk to a long sandy beach and there are various nice restaurants close by. Considering it is a pet friendly cottage there was no dog smell at all. The accommodation was good, the kitchen is well equipped but the living room could do with an upgrade, looks a bit tired. Beach towels and bath robes provided which was a nice surprise. The hot tub is lovely. WiFi worked perfectly. Didn't use the DVD or conservatory. A welcome pack is provided consisting of all the essentials - tea, coffee, sugar, milk plus a bottle of wine and local tea cakes. There was a key on the hook for the "reception laundry room" but couldn't find it. All in all I'd give it 8/10 due to 3 niggles: 1. We couldn't use the shower on arrival as the plug was full of other people's hair, which my hubby unblocked - yuck. 2. The superking bed is actually two singles put together with a zip up mattress and so the bedding doesn't fit adequately. 3. The duvet is thin, which is okay for summer but need something more substantial during the winter months. A welcome book/instructions on how to use the boiler and electric fire would have been handy.

  • "We would have given this cottage a 10 out of 10 if it wasn't for the kitchen."

We had to wash all of the plates and cutlery as there were crumbs in the drawers and wash the shelves in the oven because they had layer of grime on them. We also couldn't make use the BBQ for the same reason. I didn't put any of our own food in the cupboards as they had a layer of dust in and a bit of a musty smell. The king size bed is two singles pushed together, this was ok for us but one of the beds creaked everytime you moved, so may need to be fixed or replaced. A gate would also be a good addition as you can't let dogs out at all and I guess would be the same for small children. Other than that great place, great location and really comfy stay from then on, would most likely stay again and recommend, hoping that the kitchen cleanliness is addressed!

    Reviewed by KerryOct 2019

  • "Although generally aside from the large cobwebs the cottage was comfortable ."
