  • "An amazing property in an amazing location."

    A well equipped house that served a party of 4 adults and 2 kids very well, the views from the balcony over the beach / sea are superb. The tiny area of Red Wharf Bay is served well by the Ship Inn and The Boathouse, both of which provide good food and drink. We will definitely be back.

  • "We had a wonderful week at 5 The Quay."

    It's a beautiful apartment. and what a lovely setting by the beach. It was 5 minutes walk to the Boathouse, where we enjoyed a delicious meal. Fabulous views from the balconies were a real bonus and we witnessed wonderful sunrises and watching the egrets, as the tide went out. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen and lounge were well-equipped, although the toaster conked out on its second use!! We walked along the beach to Benllech and enjoyed drinks at The Tavern on the Bay en route. Thank you for the welcome treats! Highly recommended by the Adams and Godfrey families!!

    Balconies gave everyone changing views of the bay, and spectacular sun rises. Sykes were very efficient.

  • "Lovely property and the best place to celebrate my partners 40th birthday."

    We spent a week here and the views are spectacular! Really nice to enjoy the days we had good weather. The property was clean, far better than most properties at the moment! Bottle of bubbly with milk and coffee pods on arrival - lovely touch! Just a few pointers where we feel might be good to update/be aware of: bed in the top front bedroom was quite uncomfortable and pillows very lumpy. We had to sleep in the other bedroom one night (again on the top floor) due to the weather and although this was a comfy bed, there were stains all over the bedding (wasn’t pleasant), the odd spotlight didn’t work but didn’t cause us a problem, might want to look at cleaning the vents as they were thick with dust and maybe time for a new sofa? This was alright but the cushions are wearing…. Another review mentioned the water pressure with the top floor shower and they are right, but was fine for just us two as we used another bathroom - but would be worth looking in to. As I booked this as a surprise for my partner it would of been nice to have direct contact information for the property owners to organise just some balloons and banners to be put up - however this wasn’t possible (would of paid extra for this!) Lovely property! We would return with others too in the future due to the cost - but would recommend! On the other hand - will not be booking with Sykes again!! Highly disappointed with their service and how they very kindly fobbed me off and never dealt with my last complaint. Thanks Sykes but will not be booking with you again!!

  • "This is a lovely place with a fantastic view I just had to see past the easy fix issues of very old pans, towels with beech marks, pillowcaes that are stained, dirty tea towels, scruffy rug as you walk in to the hall, lights in the lounge area that don't work and rusty bathroom shelves and towel rails."

    .. just through them out! The sette needed a good clean it smelled stale but luckily I found the fabreeze. As I said I love the place and view but feel these things would take very little time or effort to get right especially for the price of a weeks stay.

So glad you love the place and enjoyed the view – it’s beautiful and ever changing, isn’t it? Nothing like waking up in the morning and being able to see the sea! Having visited 5 The Quay ourselves since you did, we have removed the rusty bathroom shelves and rails and had a proper run through any linen that needed updating. We’ve also had the sofa professionally cleaned; though it didn’t seem musty to us, we wanted to be sure to address it properly. Interesting feedback on the pans – we love cooking with them, as they’re extremely good quality chef-grade kitchen ware! As you can probably tell from the feedback, as the owners of the property it really matters to us that it’s in great shape, as it’s such a special place and we want visitors to get as much pleasure from it as we do.   • "Well located, well equipped and roomy property close to the beach and with access to good pub/restaurants."

    Ideal for our party and any with young kids happy to be beside the beach. We had a great time. However cleaning rather superficial which was a surprise given Covid situation - don't need to look too far behind/under the furniture to see that the property hasn't had a 'proper' clean for some time. Some of the bedding (pillows) and towels stained and so were the toilets! Hot water pressure to the top floor inadequate and need to run the tap for >10minutes to get hot water to the sinks. When water is being used downstairs top floor electric showers will not work as pressure insufficient. Also quite a few minor maintenance tasks - bulbs blown etc. Taken together t looks like the managing agent/owners are not carrying out regular inspections to make sure that these simple matters are being resolved quickly. The water issue really requires attention.

  • "A lovely large spacious modern 'townhouse' built right on the sea front."

    The balcony from the main bedroom was fantastic and gave great views across the bay. The kitchen is very well equipped including a good coffee machine. Plenty of plates / glasses etc. in good quality units. Beds very comfy and bedding of good quality. Only improvement I would suggest is for the blinds in the main bedroom to be individual / better black out (problem was it is one large roller blind that has to fully down and does not really block out much light when the sun rises at around 4:30 am!). Three places to eat / drink within walking distance (Ship Inn, The Tavern - both good). There is also the Boathouse restaurant which I understand is good but did not visit this time). A very pleasant week and hope to be back again in the future.

  • "Superb apartment with wonderful views across Red Wharf Bay."

    The main living area and principle bedroom balconies are excellent and the open plan second floor space is great. Top quality fittings and furnishings (although some in need of repair - easily done so why not do it?). Easy access to local restaurants and shopping in nearby villages. Living area needed a clean on arrival (bits of previous guests' breakfast around the floor) and needs an information pack on using heating, equipment, Wi-Fi, waste collection etc.

Beaumaris 6.5 miles.

Along the northeast coast of Anglesey is the very large (4.5 mile-long) bay of Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name of Traeth Coch (Red Beach) rining true as the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow, and at low tide almost 10 square miles of sand is uncovered to provides safe bathing, perfect for family fun, fishing and miles of stunning, scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 3 miles away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris, which boasts a 13th century moated castle, lovely buildings housing excellent shops, olde-worlde pubs, restaurants, bistros, museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. This is a beautiful location on the east coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey.
