We ate in the Boat House twice, both times the food lovely. We didnt manage the Ship in. The only downfall for us and this is not the house's fault. The wooden floors did not work well with our dog and he had to be carried up the stairs. There is everything you need in the house couldn't fault it. An alarm went off in a box in the utility room and the owner came out within an hour which was brilliant. Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • "We had a lovely holiday."

Great location and accommodation. What has spoiled our holiday is within 24 hours of return the owner sends photos of a knife with a chipped end and a knife block with a missing knife, with a shrouded accusation of us breaking/losing/taking them. The kitchen utensils were not all complete when we arrived, eg missing egg slice from a utensil tree. There was a chipped plate and glass. Some of the covers on Downlights in the living room were missing We would never dream of raising such as an issue or photographing such things as they tend to occur in rentals and don’t adversely affect our holiday A threat to charge us for the broken/ missing items is hugely offensive to us. We regularly holiday in the Uk at similar rentals and have never had an issue like this. We left the house clean and tidy, stripped used beds and placed towells ready for laundry. I hope the owner of this property finds the “missing “ knife in the drawer and accepts a chipped blade is simply a matter of wear and tear.

Parking at rear in gated courtyard for two cars. The house was very clean, and we had a bottle of lovely white white and fresh flowers too waiting for us, thank you very much. Fluffy towels, constant hot water, lots of seating, plenty of space and storage. Kitchen well equipped, (a non stick pan for fried eggs would be helpful). Utility room on ground floor with shower if you were to come off beach and be sandy. Pubs close by so could walk for meals in the evening, but booking essential. Red Wharf Bay is very peaceful and nice walks along the coastline. Just a minor comment, when top bathrooms both in use the showers stop suddenly then start up again, so made sure each couple knew who was using shower beforehand! We all had a wonderful stay in a really beautiful house and would recommend 4 The Quay to everyone.

  • "A couple of point's to note 1) the towels had an unpleasant smell and needed to be washed."

I suspect they were damp and not 100% dry when folded up for use. 2) the shower head in the bottom bath room can not be positioned correctly.

Thank you so much for leaving your comments, without guests leaving feedback it is difficult knowing if we are on the right path providing a good experience. We are sorry that you found the towels had an unpleasant smell and needed to be rewashed, not what you wanted on your arrival. We have also had a word with the house keeper to make sure they check the towels are completely dry when they are left for guests. In respect of the shower head not working as expected, we will be replacing it with a new shower head and appreciate you pointing this out to us. Thank you for letting us know your observations. • "We absolutely adored the accommodation."

It was very clean and comfortable and spacious. Only some very slight niggles - on our arrival there was a lingering smell in the kitchen of someone having had a big fry up on the morning before we arrived, but it soon dissipated when we opened the patio door. There was an issue with the main tv in the lounge - the signal strength seemed very weak and in the early evenings the tv was unwatchable due to constant pixellation and freezing up. We tried everything we could think of to fix it but nothing worked. We gave up in the end and watched blue ray films we had brought with us. But none of the above impacted on our enjoyment of our stay in a wonderful venue with such stunning views. Would happily stay again there again and would highly recommend it to everyone.

Thank you for your lovely comments, we are always pleased when someone has enjoyed staying at the Quay. We are sorry to hear you caught a smell of previous cooking, and have mentioned this to our housekeeping team. As to the TV, if we had known we could have popped over to try and sort it out for you. We are taking the precaution of replacing the TV signal amplifier in the loft. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Property Owner

The actual property is nice but needs some attention to detail. A screw sticking through the bottom of the cutlery drawer ( which I caught my finger on and cut quite badly) the bottom of the dishwasher was filthy and needed cleaning before it could be used, some chipped glasses and plates still in use.

Thank you for taking the time to write some feedback for Four the Quay. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay in the area. Please accept our apologies- our housekeeping team takes great pride in presenting the property to high standards, unfortunately you found this to be below standard on this occasion. I'm sorry that you cut your finger, please be reassured that feedback like this is useful to us and this screw has been rectified, likewise the few chipped items of crockery replaced. Thank you. • "Well located property with wonderful views."

Maintenance of the property sadly lacking: bathroom extractor fan not working; fridge door storage compartment broken; drawers to chest of drawers coming apart; dishwasher detergent dispenser broken; kitchen clock faulty; windows needed cleaning. The worst of these faults were reported and thankfully temporary fixes were made during our stay. The biggest issue was the noisiness of the plumbing when water was used in any of the bathrooms or kitchen. Even the owner was surprised when she called round to apologise for the other faults. We failed to understand how to use the television, DVD and sound system. Some instructions would have helped.

Many thanks for contacting the Menai Team so quickly on the Saturday morning to highlight some areas of concern to you. Following your call, the Menai Team called me and I was able as you stated to replace the extractor fan in the bathroom and attend to the other issues The Handyman was able to do a temporary fix to the shelf in the fridge to secure it until a new fridge freezer will be replacing the existing one. The chest of drawers that was coming apart was fixed by the handyman on his visit to the property that day,. The faulty clock was remedied by the handyman by fitting a new battery later in the week. A faulty dishwasher dispenser part was ordered and replaced during the guests stay as we had to order a part. The windows are difficult to keep 100% clean owing to the great position meaning that they are exposed to the elements, but we have a regular contract to clean the windows in place with the management company. We very much appreciate the comment about the noisy plumbing as no previous guests had remarked about it and we were not aware of it being so irritating. We will be investigating the plumbing noise during our maintenance period that we have booked off for the property. The faulty kitchen tap will be replaced. It is important for the entertainment system to work and to be easily used and we appreciate it is essential to be able to use the TV, sound system and DVD. I will review and improve instructions for guests as it not as clear as they could be. We feel it is so important to respond quickly to guests comments and regard ourselves as proactive owners, we care about our guests stays and want to ensure that any faults are attended to as quickly as possible. We do appreciate guests taking the time to share their thoughts with us and for contacting us straight away, we hope your stay was enjoyable Property Owner

I have paid on the money for the cleaner to clean it. The property was cleaned mopped rubbished emptied and bed linen taken off, I don't see how I should of paid for the cleaner to clean as I did it all myself I will be putting my comments and poor reviews on all social media as I found it disgusting

Any issues should be reported upon arrival as mentioned in both the Welcome Book and your booking details, had this been done we would have been more than happy to help you resolve the problems. Having been letting for quite a number of years we do make sure there is a good initial supply of toilet paper and linen and towels are clean and fresh. Comfortable beds with clean towels & linen. Clean inside but need to pay attention to detail regarding cleaning maintenance, had to clean & de-Ice the fridge freezer, toaster, and washing machine filters (mentioned on previous reviews). One shower needs mould removing from runners. Given the extra 1hour added which is not used (as above), and a lack of welcome pack! despite other items left in property, considering the +£300 a day rate there is a an inconsistent use of Covid. Note, No4 is located ontop of the electric entrance gates, which bangs into the walls everytime used (affecting one bedroom), as this is the only means of ingress to the complex.

Poorly designed en suite in master bedroom, so that my husbands knees were touching the door. The shower was blocked and leaked into the kitchen below, which was cured by the housekeeper after a 48 hr delay and 2 phone calls. He gave no feedback until we crossed paths on changeover day. The lounge/ dining furniture is tired and in need of an upgrade, with stained fabrics and chipped paint on the dining chairs. The rug was so dirty that we took it up for hygiene reasons. The snug was locked, which is part of my complaint for which we already have a case number. The kitchen had no room to store our food, so we kept it in boxes. We left the kitchen in a better state than when we found it. The toaster was full of crumbs, which may have been there for weeks, and the freezer was iced up. The cream cleanser under the sink should have been used to clean the sink BEFORE we arrived. The pan scrub was soiled, but fortunately we brought our own. These complaints may seem picky, but because of the so called double clean, we were expected to arrive late and leave early ! We have stayed in 3 different 5 star Menai holiday homes, and this one was not up to the usual standard, even taking into account the enforced shutdown. The view is amazing!

We are sorry that you were disappointed with Four the Quay. It is a much loved property with many happy guests and we are on a continual cycle of improvements. Your feedback is appreciated and we will investigate and remedy any issues raised where needed. Property Owner

The property

4 The Quay is a townhouse with glorious beach and sea views across Red Wharf Bay on Anglesey.

This holiday house has a luxurious feel, has breathtaking views and is within walking distance of a brilliant pub and some excellent places to eat.

That’s not to mention being on the sandy beach within less than a minute from leaving the front door! Head upstairs past a wonderful painting in the stairway, and enter the open plan living space.

In here doors open out onto the balcony where you can take a cuppa or glass of wine and just soak up the sea air and the sublime sea views.

The sitting area has comfortable sofas around an unusual wall-set gas flame fire.

There’s a 40" flat screen TV with BT TV and a Sony BDV E3100 Blu Ray sound system with Bluetooth so there is entertainment aplenty.

The large dining table offers views across the balcony to the beach beyond.

If you throw open the doors, it will give you the feel of dining al fresco! The bespoke kitchen offers everything you need to make cooking easy!

There’s a coffee maker that only takes beans so the owner leaves you a bag, an inset sink, dishwasher, gas range type hob, electric oven and combination microwave cooker.

The large central island doubles as a handy breakfast bar.

A utility room has a washer/dryer and its own shower, ideal for rinsing off sandy toes after coming in off the beach. Each bedroom has a combination TV and DVD player with freeview.

There are two ground floor bedrooms - a twin bedroom and a double bedroom.

Both have views across the bay and they share a bathroom with shower over the bath, loo and wash hand basin. Upstairs is a master bedroom with balcony and ensuite shower room, loo, basin and stainless steel towel rail.

There’s also a twin bedroom with ensuite shower room, loo and wash hand basin, electric towel rail. Outside there is a garden with some grass front and back of the property.

There is allocated off road parking for two cars.

The balcony with stunning views, as well as the beach being so close, more than make up for the fact that there isn’t a garden. From 4 The Quay you literally step out of the front door onto the Anglesey Coastal Footpath.

Walks, activities, attractions and fab places to eat and drink are all close by.

If you want to recharge your batteries, you can always park up the car and stay put for some relaxation as there’s so much to do on your doorstep.
