  • "OMG We loved it."

A beautiful home and it is a home not a house!. So clean and with lots of family photo's and memorabilia with history. The back of the house is lovely with a garden and swing that overlook the sea. Its a short private walk to the beach over a field from the garden. So perfect for the dogs as well as the people. We are planning to go back next year.

  • "Disappointing to find no washing machine although listed, Asked to mop floor but no clean pop or bucket available."

We knew that a family cottage was near the property we rented but the reality is greater than the description given. There are three 'family cottages' and if the family were using all three, privacy would be compromised. A few days in one of the family cottages was used by owners children and although we knew the cottages might be used the reality was disconcerting and made us feel a loss of privacy and isolation. We value privacy and isolation on our holiday and because this may or may not be available at Both Arian we would not stay there again.

Firstly, we would like to apologise to these guests for any perceived inconvenience for our family staying in the nearby Boathouse. Due to the Pandemic our grandsons planned travelling abroad had, for the 3rd time been cancelled. Unusually for this time of year, they asked to be allowed to use our family holiday house. We limited this to the Boathouse as it has completely separate accommodation in our 3-acre garden. The boys didn’t use the main lawn or any part of the garden fronting Borth Arian. Our understanding is that they kept noise levels to a minimum, were at all times polite and respectful and stayed only 4 days. The occasional possible use by family IS clearly mentioned in the particulars but once again we apologise to those guests- this has been an unusual and upsetting two summers! Property Owner

  • "What an amazing place to stay!"

The home, garden and location were a real treat. So secluded and tranquil! The views are breathtaking and the link from the side of the garden to the beach, and many walks were a real adventure for our two dogs and the family. The wildlife we saw outside the windows was a bonus! We would love to stay at Borth Arian again. Only down points for us were the missing washing machine (listed in your details) and hose pipe for the dogs mentioned in arrival notes. Thankfully we came prepared with towels and sofa throws. A hose would have been a real help with two big dogs keeping the sand and mud out of the beautiful home. Also the bathroom shower tap is stuck to very hot so couldn’t be used. Thankfully the en-suite shower could be shared. Fabulous holiday, beautiful location in a stunning part of the world. Thank you to the family for letting it out! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Huge garden and it felt like our own private beach just a few minutes walk away. Would definitely recommend and will definitely visit again.

  • "The location was perfect, the property was perfect, which was close to a stunning beach."

However, the game changer was the fact we shared the grounds including the garden with the owner's relatives. This had a major impact on our stay there as we had a German shepherd puppy with us, and felt compromised. For us, it spoiled the holiday. We will not be going back due to this sticking point. Also, no washing machine there, and the mattress and pillows were shocking. Such a shame because overall it was such a good place to stay.

  • "We had a wonderful weekend at Borth Arian."

The view is just extraordinary on all sides, the house is comfortable and quirky and feels loved. The outside space is great for kids to explore. There is a wonderful beaches within a ten minute walk from the beach and further walks from the door that lead to spectacular views and hidden coves. We couldn't have loved this part of Wales more.

  • "Location and property excellent."

However, it would have been helpful for the owner to have informed us that contractors were arriving the evening prior to our last day's holiday to relay a floor and fit a kitchen which was quite noisy for my elderly aunty and uncle who were there to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary and aunty is in poor health.

About the location

RHOSCOLYN

Valley 2 miles; Trearddur Bay 3 miles; Holyhead 5 miles.

Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, supermarkets, harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. Watersports, bathing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding are the main activities in the summer months, plus golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course, and the area is also a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve. An excellent location with plenty to see and do!
