  • "Beautiful house in a very quiet position."

Spotlessly clean and only 10/15 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to The White Eagle pub. We were out of season so it may be a little bit busier when the camp site is open but this shouldn't affect the house. Hosts were super friendly. We didn't use the dish washer so for us the only thing missing was a washing up bowl.

  • "Excellent on hand welcoming by Peter."

Peter said to call him if any issues or queries. We had a lovely comfortable stay in the house. Kitchen and facilities were excellent. House was warm and shower was good. Beds comfortable Weather was good last day was flooding but no issues Excellent access to the Anglesey coastal path. We walked to Trearddur bay and back. Excellent secure garden for the dog. The White Eagle pub was within walking distance expensive but good for a one off treat… would advise to book if visiting. We didn't get a takeaway not sure if the Chinese delivers. Waitrose delivery in this area was good. Amazon deliver as well as my walking boots were knackered We went to walk to Valley as well and would advise a torch as walked on the road but accessed costal path from four mile bridge. We went to south stack which was unfortunately shut but the RSPB cafe was nice. First time staying this side of the island and was impressed

(not a big problem). We had a small dog who could get through the bars of the main gate. It would be fine for larger dogs. Lovely walk across the fields and down the lane to Borthwen beach. We also enjoyed Penrhos country park just outside Valley on the Holyhead road.

Amazing view of the sea from the master bedroom, so lovely to sit in bed in a morning with a coffee and look at the amazing view. Great walks with the dogs from the door, and we spotted lots of seals. Fantastic pub serving great food two fields away, and the village Church is beautiful. Lovely owners who lived nearby. The best thing for me was lack of mobile phone and internet signal, which is the main reason I booked the cottage after reading this in some reviews.. The house is immaculate, and has everything you could possibly need. The view from the double bedroom is amazing. The owners are lovely and welcoming. There were 5 of us, (2 adults, 3 kids) and the house was a perfect size for us, with a lovely garden. The beach (and a great pub) are both a nice stroll over a couple of fields, down the lane to the beach, and up the lane for the pub. The house is actually at the bottom of a small campsite, and although the toilet/shower are attached to the back of the house, we were never disturbed once and didn’t hear any noise at all, even from the campsite on a busy weekend. We all walked to Treaddur Bay one day from the house, along the coastal path - amazing views!!! We will definitely book this house again.

About the location

RHOSCOLYN

Valley 2 miles; Trearddur Bay 3 miles; Holyhead 5 miles.

Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, supermarkets, harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. Watersports, bathing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding are the main activities in the summer months, plus golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course, and the area is also a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve. An excellent location with plenty to see and do!
