  • "We have been holidaying here for around 12yrs now and we thoroughly enjoy the peace and solitude of the setting and the wonderful wildlife right outside the door."

The cottage remains unchanged apart from a gentle lick of paint or a new patio chair. It's lovely but I'm a little sad to see prices have risen by so much in accordance with everyone else.

Few bits let the property down…..chairs outside were damaged and unusable, bbq was damaged and unusable. Kitchen had everything we needed.

  • "Lovely peaceful Cottage which was very clean."

Everything you could need in a kitchen was there. Comfortable furnishings. There was a useful book with lots of information on various walks, places to eat and all local details. The only things that need attention are the fencing, as there were several places in disrepair and our smaller dog managed to get through plus none of the outside chairs were safe to use as they were very rickety and unsteady. These minor problems didn't spoil our holiday though as there was only two of us and we managed with the garden bench and used the bins to secure the holes in fencing. In fact, on the day we left, we booked for 2022! Would highly recommend this delightful Cottage.

  • "Just back from a wonderful stay at Rhyd y Bont, the house is immaculate, warm & cosy."

Kitchen equipped with everything needed, glassware and crockery squeaky clean. However the track from the road to the cottage is only suitable for 4x4’s would be great it the pot holes were dealt with.

  • "The cottage absolutely exceeds expectations."

We are a family if 4 adults 2 kids and a dog. The garden is totally enclosed and is very relaxing with only the sound of the birds. The brick built BBQ was fantastic in the evening for cooking and chatting. The house was very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen very well equipped. We brought a small water slide for the kids, but there wasn’t a hose pipe, but we asked if there was one we could borrow and the manager of the house very kindly sorted it out for us. Absolutely 10 out of 10

The house is perfectly equipped with two ground floor bedrooms plus bathroom with a spacious walk in shower. The garden was a delightful place to relax and the double height living space roomy yet cosy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage, thank you for a great week.

Would love to return. Only slight downfall is there is no wi-fi and poor signal but being switched off from the outside world is sometimes a distinct advantage!

  • "A lovely property with all the comforts taken care of."

Really loved the tranquility of the garden, sitting on the bench outside the front door, listening to the birds in the undergrowth. Hope the property will be offered again in the coming years to enable us to stay again.

  • "Great cottage in a good location."

Very clean, the kitchen was well equipped but lacked cupboard space (not a major issue). Also the main room was a little chilly at night. The garden was a good size plenty of seating but not totally secure for a very inquisitive cocker spaniel. Plenty of walks nearby. Very good and would recommend.

About the location

RHOSCOLYN

Valley 2 miles; Trearddur Bay 3 miles; Holyhead 5 miles.

Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, supermarkets, harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. Watersports, bathing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding are the main activities in the summer months, plus golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course, and the area is also a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve. An excellent location with plenty to see and do!
