  • "We loved The Granary in Rhoscolyn it was just perfect for our stay."

It is well equipped, comfortable and really clean. Great walks around the coastal paths. The owner was also very helpful with a change we wanted to make. Thank you Alan. We would definitely stay here again.

  • "We absolutely loved this cottage and our stay."

The cottage is well equipped with everything you would need. Two lovely double beds one of which is en-suite. Well equipped kitchen/diner with welcome drinks and milk. Nice cosy lounge. Pretty outside patio/seating area and additional shared large lawned area. The location for us was perfect - 2 superb beaches (Silver Bay) and the nearest one Borthwen/Rhoscolyn both in walking distance. The White Eagle is a stones throw away with lovely dining and drinks. We used this as a base to walk some unwalked parts of the Anglesey Coastal Path. Will we come again - Yes without a doubt.

  • "On arrival at the Granary first impressions count I feel was not impressed with all the weeds growing outside the front door and by the key safe looked neglected."

Inside the kitchen is well equipped living room ok beds are comfortable and the ensuit is nice. Outside were more weeds dead plants and plastic chairs to sit on which aren't the most comfortable we left some suggestions in the book provided. The downstairs I feel is in need of a referbishment . Roscolyn is a lovely area a short walk to a beautiful beach and surrounding area. The White Eagle pub is a must good views of the sea and snowdonia with extremely friendly staff. The Granary is set in a lovely location peaceful and quiet.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I would like to address some of the points you have raised; 1. We do not use any chemical weed killer at the property, which sometimes allows the resident wild plants and flowers to proliferate between gardeners’ visits. I am sorry that has so severely impacted your opinion of the property 2. Due to the harsh environment and the salty sea air metal fixtures do corrode quite quickly. For that reason the key safe is replaced annually in spring time. It was most recently replaced in April this year. Upon inspection today the key safe unit appears to be “as new” and is entirely corrosion free 3. The “plastic chair” that you refer to is actually a £800 recycled ocean plastic picnic bench. We have provided this for guests to use as we strongly believe that we need to look after our environment and investing in this recycled product supports the work done by organisations that clean plastic for the oceans 4. The Granary is a rustic rural cottage. It is decorated as such and is presented exactly as it is shown in the listing photographs. Finally, we are very pleased to hear that the feedback you wrote in the guest book at the property is that you had a “Wonderful time in the cottage”, which you found to be “well equipped and spacious”. We do hope that you visit this beautiful part of the world again soon. Kind regards Alan Property Owner

Lovely cottage and nicely decorated and well equipped for family use. We love the area and already know our favourite beaches, bays and walks - and this was a fab base to access them all from. Thank you!

  • "We had a wonderful time in your cottage which the kitchen was well equipped and much more."

The cottage was very spacious and the bed was so comfortable, although the cottage its self is looking a little tired and dated. The coastal walks and beach are beautiful with some wonderful views. The white eagle pub is well worth a visit, food looked absolutely beautiful and the staff are exceptionally friendly. Thank you.

  • "This is a lovely cottage."

it was great we could walk to the pub and the beach. It is so peaceful here, we both slept so well. The lanes are a bit narrow but we managed. A lovely place to relax.

  • "Great little cottage."

We brought our 80 year old father/father-in-law for a week away. It worked out really well. We have noticed however, that with his grunts, shuffling and banging about, the experience is very similar to living with a wild boar! Great walks from the cottage, a 20 mile bike ride around holy Island, topped off with a dramatic circular walk from Trearddur Bay around South Stack. Cant fault the White Eagle and The Oyster Catcher for food and service. It is a great circular walk from The Oyster Catcher to work up an appetite.

  • "The cottage is beautiful and in a great location."

The weather was amazing as was the company. One of the good things about the cottage is the very friendly black & white cat "kitty" from the detached cottage next door. He is a dream and loves strokes and cat treats. Great holiday, will visit again soon.

  • "Lovely comfortable cottage in a beautiful location."

Our only issue was the freezer part of the fridge was very small, made smaller by the fact it was iced up! We only wanted to use it to put ice blocks in for our cold box to use on picnics but couldn’t even get these in!!

  • "We had a wonderful relaxing stay in your lovely cottage."

the cottage is cosy, clean and well equipped - I've added a couple of things which would have been useful in your suggestions book. We were fortunate to attend a wedding on the island at the beginning of the stay and our friends took us to and walked with us to some lovely paths on the island. We also recommend walking up Snowdon - it takes 6 hours there and back at a middle-aged pace! We also recommend Bedd Gelert. The pub in the village is welcoming and food excellent. We found the Lobster Pot over priced with very little atmosphere and food presented of low standard for the price charged. Stick to the White Eagle and at least you can have food and drink too and walk home! Many Thanks.

  • "Wonderful cottage, very comfortable & everything we needed."

Beautiful walks from the door, especially to Silver Ba, we were lucky enough to see seals down at Rhoscolyn. Weather could have been better but we still walked everyday.

  • "We are not used to driving through narrow one-car winding access roads."

It is unfortunate that no safe walks/public footpaths are available from the cottage and in no way could you safely walk to ANY beach. The beds and white beddings were remarkable. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were superbly appointed. The kitchen crockery and utensils were above normal. We missed the ice cube tray for our G&T. A black and white pussycat greeted us every day.

Everything we wanted, peace , quiet and lovely, spacious views. It is very well equipped. Very tastefully done. No mobile signal but the WiFi was first class. It’s complete with a Smart TV. And with Anglesey being a ‘micro climate’ we had lovely weather.

To find a fault with this cottage would be an injustice to it. Will most definitely he coming back to Anglesey and will be checking the availability of the Granary when we do. Handy for beeches and restaurants. Would be good to have some clothes hanging space. We were ok as we could spread things out in the second bedroom but could be difficult if 4 staying.

Thank you for your feedback. We have provided a freestanding clothes rail, which can be moved between bedroom. If you choose to stay at the Granary again I hope this helps. Kind regards Alan & Jo Property Owner

It is very welcoming and homely, but stylish too. It had lots of extras suitable for families with young children, and the garden was great for running around. The kitchen was very well equipped. It would only need improved by a bigger freezer. The property is tucked away in a quiet corner of Anglesey, but we enjoyed lovely walks from the door and drove further afield too. Wonderful surroundings, can see the sea from the property, well equipped, had everything we needed just a little cold in the house but we had cold and very stormy weather over our 5 nights. • "What a superb holiday cottage!"

Comfortable and well thought out, with everything you could possibly need to make your stay a happy stay. Perfect for families, the accommodation works really well as you can shower any sandy children downstairs to stop them traipsing sand through the place! My only request would be for comfier seating in the garden area - as a very pregnant lady this would be very appreciated. Rhoscolyn is absolutely beautiful, and the local beach is just a short walk away. Just beware of the local roads which are very narrow; walk rather than drive, if you can! A fabulous holiday and if we come back to this part of the world I wouldn't hesitate to book The Granary again.

Thank you for your feedback. We have bought a new patio bench, made out of recycled ocean plastic. If you choose to stay with us again we hope you find it more comfortable. Kind regards Alan & Jo Property Owner

As a result there may be some moderate wild plant growth between the gardeners’ visits (in spring and summer months).

Hopefully it won’t impact your enjoyment of the beautiful surroundings.

About the location

RHOSCOLYN

Valley 2 miles; Trearddur Bay 3 miles; Holyhead 5 miles.

Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches.
