  • "Our forth holiday this year in this spacious, well equipped and very clean home from home."

50 Ger y Mor offers everything a family could need, very close to wonderful beaches, a short walk to town and Maelog Lake is just a couple of minutes walk away. The enclosed rear garden is also ideal for children, pets and outdoor relaxation. We look forward to returning to this lovely holiday home next year.

  • "The house is in a great location, near the beaches and the bars and restaurants."

The driveway is long and narrow, but easily fits two estate cars. There have been improvements since we last visited in 2021, three new beds, a new smart TV and a dishwasher, much appreciated. The kitchen is dated but contains a good quantity of everything you could need, not the usual 6 plate setting. The garden contains a good sized table and chairs set for BBQs. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom are of a good size and meet our extended family circumstances well, leaving the upstairs for the younger members of our group. We have already booked again for next year. The only constructive criticisms I could make would be to make the driveway entrance a little wider, maybe utilitizing some of the front paved garden as the neighbours have done and to perhaps replace the downstairs bedroom window overlooking the garden with patio doors. We don't mind not having direct access to the garden from the house but this has been mentioned by others and this would resolve this issue. Thanks again for letting us stay in your house, we had a great week and are looking forwards to our next stay.

The family have just spent 2 weeks in this spacious and very well equipped holiday home, great for a family of six. Very close to the glorious beaches and town centre. We have stayed here on 3 previous occasions and have further booked for end of October. This property also features a good size garden, ideal for evening bbq’s and a family pet. Looking forward to our return visit.

  • "Lovely accommodation, it had everything you could ask for."

The beds in the twin upstairs rooms need to be replaced, luckily it was only our 5 year staying on it, it would have been very uncomfortable if an adult was to stay on it. The sofa could do with updating The taps all seemed a bit still. All that being said we would defiantly stay again and recommend to others.

  • "A spacious, clean and well equipped holiday home."

Also has the benefit of a lovely, well maintained garden. This was our third holiday at 50 Ger Y Mor and we have already booked another 3 weeks this year. We used to receive a very useful welcome pack but one was not provided this time. Spare bin bags would have been useful. The single black wheelie bin is not sufficient as it is only emptied every 3 weeks. These are minor issues considering what the property has to offer, including its very close proximity to glorious beaches. 50 Ger Y Mor is our choice of holiday accommodation in Rhosneigr and we are about to book further holidays there next year, but it is more of a financial challenge as prices for next year are rocketing.

Our first stay was during the summer heatwave but sadly the weather this time was pretty grotty - but then it was November! The good point was that we had a warm house to return to after a walk on a wet and windy beach, with all the cooking utensils needed to make a full roast dinner and a utility room to store wet boots. Would happily return!

Light and spacious and very well equipped, felt at home. We always cook so appreciated the range of kitchenware. There is a huge amount of storage, & great garden. There is a good sized fridge-freezer in the utility room. I must admit a fridge in the kitchen would be nice, as you have to go next door for a splash of milk in you tea... but just me being lazy. I am sure we will be going back.

  • "Rather mixed: location was good, 5 minute walk to beach."

House a bit odd - fridge in the laundry room, not the kitchen; no direct access to garden (due, I think, to owner’s large private extension). We thought the poor design of the house wasted a lot of space. Still, the house was well furnished and fairly comfortable. One downstairs bed had a lumpy mattress and there was no hairdryer; we had to buy rinse-aid for the dishwasher (not available in the village shop). This may sound a bit grumpy, but we have previously experienced very high standards with this agency

The house is exceptionally good location for the beach and amenities plenty of open space in the garden and indoors and the welcome present was a lobeky added touch we where comfortable but got a bit cold in the evening but i found the electric heater tucked away, could do with an extra tv especially for a 6 birth house and we didnt notice the fridge freezer untill we used the utility room I already had filled the one in the kitchen, I was curious about the lodgings and private door in the house it made me nervous wondering if someone was in there, the instructions on hot water and heating could have been laid out in a more obvious planner and didn't understand the need for the paying customer to strip beds especially leaving the mattress protectors and pillow protectors on (which i found unhygienic especially when the property is fully booked) never done that in other holiday lets or sort the bins out property needs some TLC bed linen looks tired and the outside needs painting to make it look more attractive looks like the worst one in the area especially when the price has gone up 25%

  • "The location is superb."

The house has everything you need for a holiday including a nice size garden. The only thing I would say is the house could have been cleaner when we arrived. Some kitchen items looked like they hadn’t been washed properly and the floor in the lounge area wasn’t cleaned under the furniture ( as we found when my granddaughter dropped her pencil case). Just small things that are easily corrected but makes you question everything.

  • "The property is spacious and in a great location."

We benefitted from good weather and enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed was available (a dishwasher would have been great but we knew there wasn't one when we booked). A pleasant surprise was the smart TV with Netflixs - which wasn't mentioned in the house details and was a definite plus. The house was competitively priced and the issues mentioned in previous feedback could be easily addressed on arrival or by the owners in slower time. As previously mentioned the house is quite old fashioned in style/furnishings and would benefit from an update in soft furnishings, a neutral paint throughout and the removal of most of the art work on the walls (the Victorian kids playing in the streets amongst others). The layout of the furniture in the lounge was simply fixed with a quick regig. We needed to use the entire dining table so having the arm chair in the archway through to the kitchen did not work for us. The spare room/games room downstairs would make an ideal single bedroom. We didn't use the room for games - we used the kitchen table. A wardrobe in the master bedroom would be good too, rather than having it on the landing - there is a wardrobe sized gap in the room. Not being able to access the garden directly from the house was unusual but not a problem for us. The driveway is rather narrow though for parking more than one car and we had to park very close to the house to be able to get passed the car to access the garden. (And move the second car entirely to get the bins out). Nextdoor have converted the front garden into a parking space which worked well. As the front of the house is already paved this would be an easy solution. Having two bathrooms was great for our extended family group and there was plenty of hot water. The house was clean and tidy on arrival and the back garden was private, a lovely space for a BBQ with a good quality table and chairs set. We would happliy book again. Thank you.

  • "I should have read the details in more detail but the let really would have benefited from a dishwasher."

I have now stayed in 4 holiday lets in Wales, all had dishwashers. For a property sleeping 6 it leaves a lot of manual washing up. Dryer also had big notice not to use. Crockery was dirty, cups had teas/coffee stains down the side (dishwasher would have sorted that). Utility room was tatty with cupboard doors hanging off. Design is poor with sleeping for 4 upstairs but having the tiniest bathroom I have ever seen, must have been a laundry cupboard. Wardrobe to double bedroom was on the landing. We left an item when we left and it took 4 phone calls and emails to get back which took weeks and a hefty £30 charge. Calls to customer service took 45 mins to be answered. Will go back to Quality cottages.

  • "Location of the property is great."

You have a choice of 2 beaches within 5 minutes walk and the centre of Rhosniegr (for shops and cafes just 2 minutes further). Bedrooms were all spacious in the cottage and the back garden was secure to let the dog out in (however, as others have said, disappointing that there isn’t direct access to the garden from the house - you have to go out the front door, down the drive and through the gate). The property is tired though and could definitely do with a spruce up. Like others we cleaned crockery before using it- most of it was just stained rather than dirty but it was better to be safe. The set up in the living room is odd and so we rearranged the sofas while there for all to be able to see the tv…..and yes, what everyone says about the key safe is correct - it’s too high and they need to relocate to somewhere lower. Mattress are the cheap ones you can feel the springs through and there were no mattress covers. Overall the cottage met our needs but I won’t book again - particularly as the same week next year (first week of June) has gone up from £550 to £780!! Not worth that price.

Thank you for your feedback and we note your comments. We are glad you enjoyed Rhosneigr but are sorry the property fell short of your expectations. The key problem has been dealt with and the mattress covers put back on. Beds and mattresses are subjective and we have not had any problems previously but we will check it out.. We are also looking into the possibility of installing a dishwasher. As regards the pricing for next year this is due to the extra bank holiday making it a premium week due the Queens Platinum Jubilee Property Owner

  • "Access is gained by a keysafe which is situated in a relatively high position to the left of the front door."

Bearing in mind arrival time was not permitted until 5 pm and it was dark at the date and time of arrival, it would have been impossible to see the code of the keysafe had I not had the foresight to bring a torch with me. Further, as I am only just over 5 ft tall, this was made even more difficult as I could only just reach the keysafe itself. (I had to stand on my small suitcase to reach). I suggest the owner either lowers the keysafe and installs a security light which comes to to give some light to the area in the winter months, or at least suggests persons bring a torch with them. It was raining on arrival, and it took at least 10 minutes to access the key. Not a good start to a holiday! As far as booking the holiday with Sykes, the advertised price was £360. However, when booking via the telephone, I was charged £366. Upon querying what the extra £6 was for, I was told it was an "admin fee". Why is this not stated on your bookings page? I could find no reference to the extra charge anywhere on your website. With the current Covid 19 pandemic affecting the lives of many people, in particular their finances, I find this extra charge quite insulting to people who just want a holiday to help lift their spirits when times are so difficult.

  • "This property is spacious, clean and very well equipped."

It is also in an excellent location, walking distance from the beach, eateries etc. We are likely to return. The only downside was that there is no access to the back garden from the back of the house because the part of the property which is off limits to visitors includes the room which has french doors onto the garden. It's not a major problem, but instead of opening the back door to let the dog out early in the morning, you have to get dressed and go through the front door (which is open to the street) and through the back gate. The same if you want to eat outside - you have to carry the food through the front door. The owners kindly left milk, wine and welsh cakes for us, which was appreciated.
