  • "Loved our stay at Brookfield, thank you"

  • "Just 54 years since we lived at Brookfield for 6 months in 1969 while I was on Advanced Flying Training at RAF Valley it was an absolute delight to be back in Brookfield and Rhosneigr."

The cottage was then our first married home and has hardly changed except much improved internally and the field with a horse in that was then behind the cottage is now a housing estate.... progress sadly ! We were delighted to meet Gilly the owner, such a lovely lady. Happy memories......again.

  • "Fantastic holiday place for a family to stay."

It's a very cozy cottage with a great garden and room to park 2 cars and still have plenty of garden space for the kids to run about.

So pleased you enjoyed Brookfield and had a lovely holiday. Thank you for the feed back. Gilly Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed Rhosneigr and Anglesey, the property is in a good location, however for the premium price charged there are issues."

Not the most comfortable of holiday lets we have stayed in. Seating generally unsupportive apart from dining room chairs and kitchen bench seating. Obvious signs of wear n tear around the property, and lapsed maintenance which really lets the place down. We had issues with the lock on the front door sticking intermittently. Sharing a bathroom between 5 of us was challenging. The outside toilet in a dirty outbuilding with no handwash basin is frankly poor. The small sized bath towels were useless. Also, the extractor vent in the bathroom was filthy [we have photos to show this]. Surprisingly there was no information about the heating system to hand, nor the usual tourist information and places to visit provided? Nor instructions for recycling? We found a recycling bag stashed away in a cupboard on our last day, which was far too late. We will return to Rhosneigr again, but it will be to other accommodation.

  • "Fab location, 2 minutes to the beach!"

Clean and comfortable and dog friendly with everything you need home from home. Only recommendation would be to try and input another shower as with four adults staying, it took a while for all to shower before going places.

  • "Although your property is lovely and full of character it does require some attention - some things seem to be a tad dated and broken - simple things like blind cords that should really be fixed before someone stays."

The house is in need of a lick of paint here and there - the pictures are more appealing than the property itself in my opinion. I think we feel like this because on reflection we paid well over the odds for 4 days compared to other properties in the area and in Anglesey overall. All other properties we have stayed in over this season have left a little welcome pack which is a nice touch - for the price we paid this would have been nice. Maybe you have now dropped the price as we booked early in the year - but we feel we were ripped off now we have been and gone.

Brookfield has been extremely popular this year, we have been fully booked from February 1st until October 28th. Normally Brookfield is painted inside and out every January. Last January we had a new flat roof put on the lounge, which has caused a problem by the front door the white paint persists on peeling it has been retouched every month but still peels off. Our lady who cleans did report the chain on the wall had worked loose and we did have it repaired after you left. As for costings, we never take short breaks only full weeks. Firstly because our cleaner can only go in on a Friday to do the change over and secondly you pay the same for 4 nights as you do for a full week. That’s why we only do full weeks! In November we are going to block off a full week, we have a Painter/decorator going in to paint interior, we were hoping to wait until January but agree the house has had a lot of foot fall in the last 10 months and needs a refresh. As for welcome pack if I lived closer I would leave Milk and Welsh cakes, but I live 150 miles away sorry it’s not posable. I am extremely lucky with Julie who does an amazing change over and leaves Brookfield spotless week after week, I would not impose on her to go and shop for welcome packs. Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was comfortable and very tastefully decorated."

However despite previous glowing feedback we found several unacceptable issues. The freezer had not been defrosted, was full of frost and the fridge always had an accumulation of water at the bottom which constantly needed to be cleared. Holiday makers are advised to take a shower mat as one is not provided. The cubicle has no grip on the base and my grandson slipped and fell in the shower cubicle on the first evening. We had to buy a shower mat before anyone could further use it. Outside was very neglected. The outbuilding should be locked up and not used, with the washing machine being resited. The toilet in this outbuilding was very clean but there was no sink. The whole room was damp with black mouldy plaster falling off the walls. There were dirty , insect ridden window net curtains, holes in the concrete floor and generally filthy. Outside there were weeds and brambles along the paths, with weeds being the predominate growth in the plant containers. There were broken concrete edges adjoining the garden / sitting area, particularly dangerous for young children. We have stayed in other similar sized properties in Rhosneigr and found them to be superior in many respects and considerably cheaper. Brookfield could be so much better, but sadly we will not be visiting again. If required, we have taken several photographs to substantiate our points of issue.

The garden was great for the kids and dog to run around in. The house is in a perfect situation in Rhosneigr and is very peaceful and quiet, turn left out of the gate for the beach and right for the nearest pub. The house is very well equipped, tastefully furnished with lots of room. We have already booked to go back we enjoyed it so much.

  • "The property was as described, generally well equipped and clean."

It's in an excellent location close to the beach and the town centre. The negative points are that a single bathroom and toilet is not really adequate for a property sleeping 6 people and the lack of a dishwasher is also an issue. Despite these drawbacks, I'd still recommend Brookfield.

  • "The cottage is in good position no road noise close to village."

It is well presented but without being precious which with dogs allows you to relax. The garden is spacious and sealed off again great with either dogs or small children. Our only small gripe relates to one of the beds which needs replacing as the mattress and springs are past their sell bye date.

We arrived at 11.30pm (because of the gales) to find an outside light had been left on which was very helpful to find our way. The piano in the dining room was an added bonus. Brookfield is a lovely holiday cottage in a great location suitable for any time of year.

The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Area perfect for us . Only fault was the cafes, pubs and shops closed very early . One cafe didn't serve food after 4:00pm . The chip shop was closed even though it said open until 8:00 pm every night . If there were few customers they closed when ever they wanted .We had to drive out for a meal which is what we wanted to avoid . The area is very quiet and relaxing. • "The kitchen floor was filthy, there were cobwebs in the lounge with dead flies in it, and the Windows had lots of bird poo on them."

we couldn't find a washing machine, or a key for the bike shed. There are no power points next to a mirror, in either bedroom. No twin power point in the bathroom for toothbrush or shaver. A definite shortage of coat hangers. Also it would have been nice to know that the property that this house is behind, is undergoing building work, it was like staying on a building site, they started at 7.30am Having said all that, the decor was very nice, some lovely touches.
