  • "With a bit of investment and attention this could be a lovely holiday cottage as the location is excellent."

The kitchen is modern and well equipped. The house is relatively spacious and the garden is enclosed. Garden furniture is available but with limited hard surfaces in the garden we couldnt use even though the weather was fine. The owners should ensure that a thorough clean is carried out between rentals in future.

  • "Like the house and its location, we were ‘4 plus 1 and lounge area Ok but imagine stretched if more staying."

Bathroom facilities could be improved. A shower downstairs needed; only one not sufficient. Better arrangement needed for first floor shower, constantly mopping up floor outside cubicle. You are aware of sheet issue on first floor double bed. Aside from that, all good. Kitchen facilities and equipment very good.

  • "Great location close to beach and shop ect."

Well equipped with everything you need. Enclosed garden great for dogs. Could have been cleaner on arrival. There was no instructions on how the heating could be controlled and we had to wear fleeces to keep warm. Perhaps we should have contacted owner to resolve. Overall a pleasant stay but could have been better with attention to the above .

Very clean and comfortable. Really good facilities. A minute’s walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the shops. Great walks with our dog. Just what we needed

Just didn't want to leave, it's a short walk from the beach and the town. It was comfy and there was plenty to do. We could have stayed even in winter as the house is so cosy.

  • "We had a really enjoyable stay."

The property is walking distance to the beach which is brilliant with two very young children. The property is spacious and comfortable, we felt very at home. The house was very clean and the welcome pack was a lovely extra. Great garden space and the sun room was perfect for drying. The cul de sac is very quiet and only a short walk/ drive to the shops. I would happily stay here again, Rhosneigr is beautiful. Many thanks

  • "On first look at this property it looks nice but on closer look it needs a good clean - dishwasher full of old food not been cleaned for months so I cleaned it."

Trays in oven dirty, crockery obviously washed in dishwasher so had old food stuck to it so we had to wash crockery etc before using. Downstairs playroom/bedroom smells of urine and had sweet wrappers on the floor. Freezer had not been cleaned and had a bug in it. I contacted the housekeeper Adam and sent videos but he told me to contact Charlotte and I never heard back from either of them despite sending videos. Menai contacted me and wanted to send someone to clean - this was 7 days into the holiday - what was the point when I had already cleaned. House is in need of black out blinds as light pours in when it gets light. Windows are hard to open. There was dog mess in the garden from previous occupiers I picked it up not what you want to do on your holiday. Some of the cupboards also need a clean. Given the cleaners are given extra time to clean I am not sure why the property is not clean. Very disappointed and I have not heard anything further from Menai or Sykes. We left early. It’s such a shame because the property could be nice and because I’ve cleaned it should be nice for the next people. I suggest the cleaners look at cleaning the cupboards and getting rid of some of the oven trays and giving the dishwasher a good clean. A lot of the plug sockets don’t work either and there’s no wardrobes apart from in the bunk bed room. There is room for wardrobes so not sure why owners have not put them in.

  • "A good cottage with plenty of space for the six of us."

A well stocked kitchen with lots of dishes and implements. A handy back porch for drying coats. Literally a one minute walk to the beach! Despite the horrendous weather we were cosy and warm. Small grumbles- no hob cleaner so we had to leave it dirty. My son said that the upstairs mattress did not have much support. Big grumble from me- why are bed laundry and towels always washed in highly perfumed washing powder and fabric conditioner??(this happens at most cottages). Not great for people with allergies! Luckily I took a single quilt and sheet with me and had to sleep in the playroom.

The heating system would not switch on and had to ask for someone to attend to remedy the problem. We had to provide some light bulbs as one was missing and the other one did not work and there were no spare bulbs in the cupboard.

  • "Rhosneigr is a great location with a very good beach within seconds and minutes from the door; and an excellent base to tour Angelsey."

The cottage was ok - but very overpriced for what was provided. Would like to thank the owners for the Welcome Pack. However, although it did meet expectations as said above it was a late booking and Crows Nest was only one of a few properties across all rental sites for Angelsey that was left so grabbed it, and on that basis didn't expect too much of it. I know not listed as having any views Crows Nest, despite its name, does not have any views at all - in fact Fish Bowl would be more acurate as it is overlooked from all angels, and with no blinds or nets to offer any privacy we kept the curtains drawn all week - luckily we were out most of the time and it gets dark around 7, so we managed. Guest Information Book was basic; eg does not mention how to operate the central heating system - apart from the bathroom towel rails which were very good - it was chilly in the evenings and first thing so all we had was the noisy fire which drowned out the TV so we often turned that off and snuggled up in our car blankets. The TV instructions given on the TV unit are opposite to that given in the GIBook using 2 remote controls so very frustrating as it kept switching off - I would have given up and read my book but hubby persisted and chanced random success; we had what we had. The double bed downstairs was comfortable offering good sleep quality, but smells of age. Crows Nest is in need of complete refurbishment; damp damage in the hall ceiling as a welcome was a real put off, caused by the upstairs shower which due to its position opposite the shower door just pours out onto the floor when first switched on and walking in despite lowering the shower head, and from the misaligned broken seal as it runs down the door and straight onto the floor, nothing we could do to stop it. Some table lamps not working and much of the furniture is old and grubby, lounge suite included, faded mouldy curtains all causing the smell of age - didn't want to use the chest of drawers (even the paper linings were old) our clothes would have smelt the same. Kitchen good, but cupboards packed with unnecessary old unusable inventory that you are expected to rummage through as just rammed in - crockery good though and thankfully found a very good frying pan at the bottom of the pile. My comments are based on personal expectations of any holiday accommodation and as a former holiday accommodation provider so I know what is both expected of guests and possible to provide. Would return to Rhosneigr but would not return nor recommend Crows Nest unless improved.

  • "Lovely location minutes from a great beach."

Spacious, clean, tidy & comfortable house. What follows is not a criticism but just some recommendations. It needs a proper information pack with instructions on how to use the appliances & a selection of local brochures etc. It took us a while to locate the tumble dryer for example. And the appliance user guides were tucked away above the fridge. The terrestrial TV signal was very weak at the time. We had to watch everything through the BT hub which worked OK. We could have done with a little bit of heating on a couple of evenings but there was no way to turn it on that we could work out. The shower cubicle upstairs is very confined. A thought for the future would be perhaps to sacrifice the bath downstairs & install a bigger shower unit. The outside drying lines could do with stronger anchors on the fence & with middle pole supports. The gate into the garden needs attention as the sliding bolt is misaligned. It would also be so much easier for getting surfboards into the garden if it opened left to right instead. It took ages to find the cottage on streetview .For anyone trying to find the cottage for the first time the "what3words" location code would have been helpful, it is: "strongman.whirlwind.laminated" . But all in all a very nice holiday let.

I think the location is awesome , the village is brilliant and the property lovely . I dont think you sell it enough , personal view, the beaches are t o die for , the pubs were excellent and the fish and chip shop magnificient. The surfing side of things is not something for me but should be mentioned more perhaps and we took our dog , its a dog walking paradise. The beaches at Red Dwarf Bay and even more so at Newborough were spectacular. We are seriously looking at booking another week in October , so any offers you want to make ?

There were things we needed to know e.g. the towel rails, heating, rubbish and recycling, TV, which we either had to ask the handyman or a neighbour, or work out eventually. Also, there was very little toilet paper, and no hand towels. The directions to the property were inadequate, the numbering of the street is very difficult to fathom and we drove round for a long time before happening on it. Having said all that, we throughly enjoyed ourselves despite the weather. We would come back to the same property.

There are lovely restaurants and cafes in Rhosneigr - but without he weather so good we spent most of our time on the beach . Could just have done with another shower over the bath ?
