  • "We had such a brilliant stay."

Location perfect for 2 families of 4 adults and 5 children. Safe environment being at the top of a quiet caravan site, whereby the children could go out on their bikes etc. just a short walk over to the other side is RAF Valley which we loved going to sit on top of the dunes and watch the jets. House was lovely and warm, very comfortable and had everything you need. Very well equipped kitchen. Would love to come back. Thank you

  • "A fantastic week in Anglesey staying in the superb Hafod Heli."

The house is perfect, a real home from home with all the facilities you need and more. Lovely and clean and very well equipped. It is just a short walk to the most beautiful beach and a small selection of shops and restaurants. I know this has been said before and not a criticism of the house at all, but a small map with directions to the house would be very helpful.. it was extremely difficult to find in the dark, and very frustrating after a long drive- but once you know where it is it’s absolutely fine.

  • "This is NOT a critique."

The post code was for the property on the main road. I had to call to ask directions, A picture of the entrance gate would of helped. The place was awesome, reminded me of some of my trips abroad in Africa. Everything was as promised, no stress, good information, shame we only had a few days. I hope we left it in the good order we found it, definitely a future consideration . I did break a cup and left it by the hob. Thank you all, Martin M

Thank you kindly all is well, the Post code does cover a few houses in station road and as we are set back on the private drive I do understand ,We will see if Menai/Sykes can add some extra details -Glad you loved the house . Property Owner

  • "Superbly appointed house."

Excellent location in Rhosneigr. Great outdoor space. Great decor. Specious and very clean. The directions are a bit confusing though as the postcode for the address is not close to where the actual house is.

We will ask Menai to show clearly where the house is located it overlooks the shoreside park and the golf course and as its set back it can get missed . Thank you for the lovely comments. Property Owner

  • "Stunning property in a beautiful location only a short walk to the beach and village shop."

The house itself has a large footprint easily able to accommodate 9 adults in the living room on an evening or round the dining table. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you’d need. The dog kennel area has another fridge if you have a big shop like we did. Garden is secure for dogs and well maintained. Hot tub was brilliant and spacious. Finally everyone in our party commented how comfortable the beds were so sleep was no issue either! Carl was an incredibly responsive host and we would definitely stay here again.

  • "Brilliant stay at Hafod Heli."

The weather was not on our side so it was great to have a big house to keep everyone entertained. The decor is beautiful and plenty of seating for everyone. We used the pizza oven to make super tasty pizzas after a bit of a practice. Seeing the jets fly over was excellent for the kids (and adults!). Super close to the sea, lots of walks around the area and a great base to explore Anglesey. Thanks

  • "We stayed at Hafod-Heli for a week in October & I’m delighted we picked this place."

Firstly the photos do not do it any justice whatsoever, it is stunning, very clean & has everything you could possibly want. The furniture & fittings are extremely comfortable, the secure garden was bliss for our 3 dogs & the hot tub was very much welcomed after lots of exploring & walking. It’s a great base to explore the local area with fantastic beaches & close enough to travel to Snowdon if you’re feeling brave & energetic. We especially loved Newborough Forest Nature Reserve with amazing beaches & glorious forest walks which is only a 10 minute drive away. Nothing was to much trouble for the owners of the property & we were made to feel extremely welcome with the little touches that they did before our arrival. I would definitely recommend this place & will 100% be returning.

£1,600 for 3 nights overpriced would not recommend Menai Holidays to anyone!!! The cottage itself was beautiful though in a lovely place.

"It was lovely to speak with you today & we explained the gas connector & regulator was attached to the BBQ and is not left connected to the bottle purely for safety. The log store is always full and there is usually some kindling by the log burner or in the garage. The main thing you confirmed you had a really Fabulous time and loved the house and we can only apologise on the booking situation confusion and hopefully we will never have such life changing circumstances as covid ever again." • "Beautiful property but it’s definitely more than five minutes to the beach."

The beach however is great for people who like water sports but not much else going on. The property itself was high spec but you do look out onto a caravan site. There is a nice selection of eating places but unfortunately due to Covid you could only eat/drink outside so couldn’t cater for many people at this time. No bakery just a couple of general stores so had to go further afield for shopping.

  • "Beautiful house , very well maintained, however the listing fails to mention the RAF landing strip just in the next field ."

We trusted the listing which describes the house as quiet but the breaking of the sound barrier from 8 am to around 6 pm is unbelievably intrusive and is the noisiest house I’ve ever stayed in . I’m sorry to leave such a negative review as the house is lovely but the fact of the matter is this noise element should have been stated , it would then be a choice rather than an endurance test .

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. Anglesey and Rhosneigr is home to RAF Valley, famed for Prince William's Air Sea Rescue training base and has been there for many years. We are glad you loved the house. Property Owner

  • "The property is for 10 but the fridge and freezer are not big enough."

The fridge was not cold enough and we had to throw away a chicken and several other products. The frezzer was so frozen it was hard to pull out the drawers. Also lots of dust under beds and spiders webs. The house is beautiful and they provide so many household items. It was lovely having 2 rooms to relax in. The Jacuzzi was brilliant.

Housekeeping are local and very proud to look after Hafod Heli, they are also very happy to attend at any time should anything be not quite 100% to your liking as stated in the welcome pack. There is a second fridge in the garage for larger occasions and we will endeavour to take on board the point raised. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely property but there are a few details that need to be included in the listing to inform people of things particular to this property."

    1. Access to this property is only through a campsite. That makes it not particularly private and subject to the campsite noise. We have a nervous dog who was scared of going through the campsite. Very simply, we would have not selected this property had we known of the access. 2. We did not have a problem about the additional dog rules (ie not in bedrooms or upstairs) but these should also be stated upfront. Both my husband and I have dog allergies (we have greyhounds that do not shed dander so are not allergic to our own dogs) and could identify that dogs had, indeed, previously been in at least the master bedroom (possibly on the long pile rugs). I can, however, understand that dog owners may let their dogs in the bedrooms if these rules are not being stated in advance. 3. There are plenty of pictures of, presumably, the owner’s family around the house. This is not a comfort to renters as it is both intrusive and protecting the pictures from damage becomes an unwanted concern. In addition to the above, Menai holidays should be aware that: 1. The welcome cake left for us was 3 days out of date on our arrival. 2. The state of the inside of the kitchen bin is disgusting and had clearly not been cleaned properly for some time. 3. The lack of recycling offered is disappointing - the welcome pack suggests that “To make life easier place everything in the Biffa Bin”. This is an incredibly short term view and I think your clients are much better informed about the need for recycling than this note suggests, particularly when Anglesey has an excellent recycling scheme. Making a small effort to place bins outside the campsite would not be a problem for most. Why not give your clients a choice what to do? Otherwise this was a very comfortable property and the kennels were brilliant for our dogs.
