Its very comfortable,I personally love the decor and the utility room is a godsend with having the dog but the main reason we book is the view and the proximity to the beach. Altogether an outstanding house.

  • "Sandy Bank is a lovely quirky house on the edge on the dunes."

First up, following other reviews, you do not need to go over the dunes to get to the beach…walk to the right at the front, and you’ll eventually find the river, head left and you’ll join the beach (you can also get on to this path at the side of the golf club or go the road way and down near the surf shop) - the dunes are fun if you can manage them. It’s in a great position and a 10 minute walk from the busier centre. A map with walks marked might benefit those who aren’t familiar with the area. The spacious house is filled with art and really quirky. The view from the living room and main bedroom is great for watching sunsets and the planes at Valley. Smart TV was great for evening films. For those needing to work there’s good wifi and a desk area which looks out to the fab view - the whole creative ambience made me want to sit and write a book! Comfy bed, had great sleep and enjoyed morning coffees laid watching the amazing view and sea rolling in. Practical note the twin room is off the main bedroom up another flight of stairs. The downstairs wet room was great (our preferred shower), and laundry room with ceiling airer was really useful. Sandy Bank is a quirky fun homely place, we’d definitely return.

  • "Let me say that this property is in a beautiful location however is busy with beach goers and does not feel private which only bothered us slightly with the continuous comings and goings."

The house had everything we needed and I must say the downstairs shower was amazing. We loved taking walks to the beach but it's not easy if you go over the dunes, my legs are still recovering lol. The house was very warm even at night we didn't feel cold which was a plus. The owner was easy to contact and we enjoyed our stay at Sandy bank however the house does need some updating and a bit of an extra clean as there were some questionable marks on walls and things and the plug socket for microwave did not work so we had to move things to another socket, though this did not spoil anything.if you love seeing the jets take off from the airbase this is perfect. We will definitely stay again in the future. Overall a enjoyable week.

  • "This was a great disappointment."

The view was great but could have been improved by cutting the grass. However, this is about all we could say that is good about this cottage. I should like to send you some photos that demonstrate the parlous state of this property. There is severe damp in several places, with paint peeling off, and the smell of damp in the kitchen cupboards is very obvious. An attempt to cover up the tear in the flooring in the front room had been made by putting a beanbag over it. This flooring, which also covered the landing and stairs, was very harsh on the feet when going to the bathroom in the night. The steps leading to the side passage are far too steep, it was very difficult with two hip replacements to go up and down them. We were unable to decipher which of the three sets of instructions regarding recycling was relevant. In any event, there was no way either of us could carry big boxes up those steps. In order to assure you that all of this is an accurate reflection of our experience, please provide me with a means of sending you the photos of the damp and the dirty state of much of the property.

The view of the beach was breath taking , again great watching the surfers from the comfort of the house. The drying room was a must to get wet coats and dog dried. The downstairs shower and toilet was a plus. We will be back later in the year. Spoiled us for staying anywhere else in Rhosneigr. Thank you

Found the whole experience excellent. The accommodation is great and geared to those with outdoor plans and if you have dogs. Downstairs wet room and wooden floors mean no fear of making things too messy ! Comfy sofas, good WiFi and tv options to watch in front of a real fire . There had been an issue with the fridge freezer which was handled really well with options offered and good communication. Kitchen warm comfortable and well equipped. Ive already looked at potential dates to return with the family. View onto dunes and Valley runway so expect to see and hear the jets in great detail!!

Loved the house and facilities. Would certainly book this house again. Children loved the location, especially having WIFI for the young generation and Netflix for their favourite TV programmes in the evening. Great front of house views and sandy path to the beach. Safe location. There is also a great downstairs wet room and plenty of hot water and space for the whole family. There is a easy to use log burner adding that great evening feeling when you have been on the beach all day and the evening is cool, log burner on with a glass of Vino lol. • "We’ve just returned from a fantastic, family, one week, holiday at Sandy Bank."

The house itself is perfectly located on the sand dunes and the view from the front of the house of the coast is just beautiful (the chairs in the front bedroom window make a perfect spot to quietly relax). It’s a short stroll into Rhosneigr itself, with it’s ice cream, cafe’s, bistros and shops, including two surf shops. Also a very short walk across the dunes to the beach, those with mobility issues can reach the beach through town via an access ramp onto the sand. Sandy Bank was clean, cosy and comfortable, everybody slept really well. With two children in our party, we spent a lot of time on the beach body boarding and playing in the sand, so having a shower room as soon as you came in through the back door and a utility area with washing machine and suspended drying rack was pretty perfect for us, it meant the house stayed free of sand! The kitchen was well equipped and family meals around the large table were a nightly occurrence (that and competitive card games!). The living room is large, spacious and comfortable, Netflix is available on the TV so a popcorn and film night is also a possibility for tired little people worn out by the waves! The owner messaged to make sure we had everything we needed and to say she was on hand should we have any issues etc, a lovely touch (thank you) - I would definitely recommend a stay here, perfect base for exploring Rhosneigr or Anglesey itself.

Felt like home from home. Comfortable, spacious and well equipped, but there were only two adults and two dogs there! Great location for visiting the island, which I have fallen in love with. Amazing view from the front of the house, with the sea over the sand dunes on the left, and RAF Valley on the right, watching the jets take off and land!! Enjoyed sitting in the small garden in the evening with a gin, watching the sunset. The jets are quite noisy, but didn’t cause any bother to us. Kitchen well stocked, and easy to use. Just needs some oven gloves! Cottage is located in the quiet end of town, so private and peaceful. Easy to walk in to the main part of the town. Nice walk down to the beach, but need to cross a shallow stream on the beach to get to the main beach. Anglesey Walking Trail just by the dunes, which takes you to a beach further along. Lots to explore! Will definitely be returning!

Very comfortable throughout, well equipped and very clean. The views over the beach were so relaxing even though the winds most days whipped up waves which allowed wind surfers and kite surfers to enjoy their sport every day we were there. What a tremendous sight. To walk over the dunes onto the beach and make sandcastles with the little one while our dog chased his ball was delightful. With jet planes and a helicopter on next door RAF Valley out on training every day this was a new experience for us all to watch and wonder at. We spent most of our week in Rhosneigr at the cottage but some great days were had too at Menai, Llandudno and Beaumaris. The local shops and eating places in the village all within short walk were ideal and everyone we spoke to very friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend a visit any time of year to this beautiful property and hope to return soon.
