  • "It’s difficult to think of how Bryn Dale could be improved."

It’s such a well maintained and presented holiday home - everything from the decor, standard of maintenance, layout, parking, to how well it is equipped, the location and the overall ambiance is all perfect. We have stayed in countless holiday homes in and around Holyhead and this is by far the best we have visited. Congrats and thank you for a lovely stay.

  • "Holiday home was satisfactory."

Cleaning was not brilliant, dirty glasses, ( still had beer in them) kitchen utensils greasy. Fridge not clean, few cobwebs too. Asked Sykes (twice) for beds to be ziplocked . Sykes had not told the owner! Had to contact owner, she had it sorted same day, cafeteria was cracked, owner had it replaced. The house was comfortable, beds , sofas great. Loved the location, we all had a fabulous holiday with the grandkids & dogs.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Please accept my sincere apologies on behalf of the team that on this occasion your communication was lost and the beds were not made up as per your request. We are extremely pleased that the owner was able to rectify this on that same day, also providing you with a replacement cafetiere. The cleanliness issues you have raised have been passed on to the housekeeping team. At Menai Holidays we endeavour to present properties to a high standard which meets guests expectations and beyond, we work closely with our owners who genuinely want guests to enjoy their properties as much as they do. Your feedback is extremely valuable to enable us to monitor the quality of our service. We are pleased that you and the family enjoyed the property and location despite these issues which, on this occasion, failed to meet our quality standards and will be rectified going forwards. Thank you, the Menai/Sykes Team Property Owner

Inside, the kitchen is well equipped with all manner of crockery, utensils and gadgets. The beds were very comfy and the showers excellent. Great place to stay.

There were 3 small issues we had: We couldn’t find the key fob for the beach, the king beds appeared to have mattress toppers that were too small so you lost some space there and the shower over the bath on the second floor didn’t seem to have any setting other than scolding hot. But none of this would stop us booking again!

  • "Wonderful house!"

Bryn Dale is very generously sized, has oodles of character but is very modern and well equipped. The kitchen is superb with quality fittings, a pair of splendid Neff ovens and hob, and very well stocked cupboards with everything you could possibly need. It’s a good size and a subset of our party often ate there. The children loved the breakfast island. There are patio doors onto the garden so you have a lovely view. We found the utility room and washing machine very convenient. There was an extra fridge here. The lounge/diner is similarly large and the table easily accommodated all 10 of us together. The patio doors were handy too. The sofas are nicely positioned to facilitate conversation and games. There are books, games, a sound system and of course TV, but we didn’t watch it much. The bookshelves also contained maps of Anglesey and books of coastal walks. The sleeping accommodation is very well arranged on the 2 upper floors and suited our family dynamics perfectly. The beds are so comfortable and all the linen, towels etc. hotel quality. The bathrooms are all luxurious and there was plenty of hot water. Outside, the garden is very private once the gates are closed. Our dog did manage to find a gap in the fence up on the higher level and jumped down onto the pavement. Fortunately he did not run off, but it was a shock to see him wagging his tail on the other side of the gate asking to be let back in! He’s never out of our sight for long either so it shows how things happen so quickly. The location is superb and about 5 minutes walk from the beach. There’s no busy road to cross. The local Spar was handy and sold newspapers. We also rented a paddle board from there. We would definitely visit Bryn Dale again. The house is even larger and nicer that’s the photos suggest. The owners are easily contacted and very helpful if you have a problem.

  • "We stayed the 1st week of July '22 for 7 days."

It's a lovely property, well equipped for a comfortable stay and cleaned to a high standard (though we did note a couple of spiderwebs and resident spiders). The perimeter is secure to allow dogs to roam without fear of escape, similar for young children too. A couple of points to call out, the shower over the bath on the first floor seems to have an issue with the temperature gauge, meaning it's stuck at a set temperature, that is quite hot. The property is equipped with a rotary washing line, however, it's tucked away in the shade, and grubby from being left out. It might be worthwhile providing a retractable line to allow guests to take advantage of sunshine over the garden, or equipping the property with a dryer. Several lightbulbs in the property appear to be early versions of energy savers, which take an age to come up to full brightness, and suffer from poor light output, it might be worth replacing with some modern warm white LED's to give a nicer even ambient light. The points above are all minor, and shouldn't be a reason to not consider this property. Its location is fantastic, 5 minutes walk to the beach, what more can you ask for!

The house is beautiful and very spacious. There was 8 adults and 1 child on our first family holiday and it was big enough for us. Not sure why someone had commented on the beds being uncomfortable as that was certainly not the case they all were extremely comfortable. The house was very clean for when we arrived we couldn't fault it. The kitchen was very well equipped with every utensil, pots and pans you can think of. Fridge is huge plus there is a second one in the utility room. We cooked 5 nights and ate out 2 nights. Highly recommend the Ocean’s Edge restaurant it was superb and only 2 minute walk. We had loads of space which was lovely, only downside is kids waking early as the curtains/blinds weren’t blackout in the slightest, so by the end of the week everyone was tired and and grumpy. That would be a really easy fix. A tumble dryer would have been super useful too.

  • "Whilst the house was lovely large and airy, for the price I would have expected simple things to be sorted."

All the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. 3 lamps in the living/ dining room weren’t working. 1 lamp in the living / dining room had a broken shade. Minimal amount of toilet rolls and tea towels. Both fridges felt like they weren’t completely working properly. Some of it just felt a bit tired and dated - think it needs a bit of sprucing up in terms of bedroom furniture and artwork ( the canvasses are a bit naff and dated). I have run a luxury holiday home and would always ensure these things were nailed before any bookings (which were at 2/3s the cost). Kitchen was lovely though and had everything we needed equipment wise. Great kitchen for those who love to cook. Great selection of games to play too! Loved the monopoly set. House was big enough to have our own space away from the family. The 2 dogs loved it too, and had a nice big garden to wander around in feeling secure.

Thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to hear you were disappointed with some of the amenities and features during your recent stay. In terms of the beds, additional mattress toppers have now been provided to allow guests the choice of a firm or soft bed. Light bulbs are checked regularly, but unfortunately, some can slip through the net. The lamps in the living room need to be switched on via the main light switch, as well as, the individual lamps, and we will ensure these are working. We will also check the fridges are at the correct temperature. Property Owner

Although there were only 6 of us, we were able to spread out and enjoy the space and number of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was also excellent. Everything is pretty much as you'd expect for a 5star property. Nice touches are also apparent, such as beach equipment, toys, games and books for the children and a range of DVDs. If we could criticise anything, across our group, we found the double/king mattresses throughout too hard and the broadband connection was dire. This apparently reflects the part of the world and not the connection to the property itself. Finally, if you're travelling with a little one, we would strongly advise bringing your own travel cot.
