  • "Cottage was spotless, well appointed for a comfortable short stay."

Information pack was great, with contact details of a caretaker if needed, we did not have to make any contact. Fabulous small bay 5 mins walk away, used a restaurant which was included in the welcome info, rarely went anywhere else!

  • "A lovely cottage just a short walk from the beach and local eateries and amenities."

The cottage was very clean with all basic necessities provided on arrival, including tea towels, washing up liquid, tea, coffee, sugar and milk. There was also a bottle of prosecco and bara brith to welcome us!! On one occasion, the boiler stopped working due to low water pressure but a call to the caretaker saw him arrive to fix the issue within 45 seconds...yes, seconds, not minutes or hours!! If eating in, may be worth arranging for a delivery from Morrisons etc for time of arrival as local Spar has limited choices. If bringing your dog, be aware that garden area is not fully enclosed. Recommend Sea Shanty cafe as good place to eat... they allow dogs up till 5pm.

  • "The property could have been a lot cleaner."

We had to clean all the cutlery and utensils on the first day before we could use them. The dishwasher was not working properly, although it switched on the water wasn't heating uand the tablet didn't get released, I tried 3 times on different settings. The shower leaks and it seems to be from under the basin which meant that the floor and shower towel was soaking after every shower. If these defects were put right this is a comfortable property

  • "We've had a lovely stay."

The cottage is in a great location. Our only small gripe is that we would have liked a slightly bigger settee as we both like to put our feet up when watching TV especially after a day out walking but thats just us! Also the dishwasher wasn't working but we only noticed it the last night as we hadn't used it the rest of the stay. I'm sure it would have been sorted if we'd spotted it earlier. A lovely little complex.

  • "It may be difficult to fix but the shower has been leaking for years."

Tools to mop it up would be really useful! We bought some extra washing up clothes, but it needs something more substantial. Couldn't leave it as clean as we would usually do as there is no vacuum anymore.

  • "On the whole we enjoyed our stay."

This is our third visit to Tyn Towyn and we love the proximity to the beach etc. The welcome pack of milk, coffee, prosecco, welsh cakes is a nice touch. The cottage is small but a perfect size for 2 people. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed as we ate out quite a bit. In comparison to the other properties Bwthyn Haf felt a bit dark (probably because of the small windows especially the lounge). The lounge dining area lacks character and as stated in other review the sofa is not the most comfortable. I am not sure that a sofa bed is the best option as the lounge area is small and with the only bathroom being off the bedroom would make having additional guests tricky. We would return to Tyn Towyn but feel the prices this summer were too high and hope they will be more realistic going forward. The feedback book in the cottage ran out of space in 2019 so does need replacing.

  • "We were most disappointed with the cleanliness and comfort of the property."

We have already raised these issues with Menai and hope they are being dealt with by the owner, as promised, so that future holiday makers can enjoy their stay without similar experiences

  • "Met by a filthy front door gaps in and you could see the road through from the lounge."

The settee in the lounge should have been on the local tip it was dirty and most uncomfortable. The kitchen was dirty and the cutlery should have been in the bin. The bed was uncomfortable and the duvet and covers had disgusting stains on. The bathroom shower leaked all over the floor from under the tray but the shower itself was good. This survey is not based on the cleaners they do the best they can, it’s the owners fault the whole place needs renovating. This cottage should not have any star listing until work has been done on it. Would go back again BUT to a different cottage.

ON ARRIVAL WE NOTICED THERE WAS NO REMOTE CONTROL FOR THE MAIN TV I TEXT A MESSAGE TO THE CARETAKER WHO CAME TO THE PROPERTY WITHIN THIRTY MINUTES HE APOLOGISED AND ORDERED A NEW ONE WHICH WE RECEIVED THE NEXT DAY I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED THE ONLY DOWNSIDE WAS THE SETTEE IT'S NOT VERY COMFORTABLE I APPRECIATE IT IS A BED SETTEE BUT I THINK SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS CUTTING A PIECE OF PLYWOOD TO SIZE AND PLACING ON TOP OF THE BED FRAME WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM WE HOPE TO VISIT YOU AGAIN LATER IN THE YEAR.

  • "Second time renting this cottage."

Well laid out but although there was plenty of hanging room in the wardrobe we found small clothes storage a bit lacking, as only one bedside table/drawer. Should have been enough room for another, or some accessible shelves in the wardrobe. Electric oven was switched off (probably for safety reasons) so we had to ring for support to get it started. Perhaps an extra and clearer instruction needs to be written as we didn't find a clear answer in the leaflet. Also the microwave, which we couldn't use, needs extra info for electronically-challenged users without an electrical engineering degree. The plastic-handled knives and forks are getting old and handles loose to use. Plenty of different-size drinking glasses, but maybe could do with a couple of new cereal dishes, some of those available are too shallow to use without losing some of your cornflakes and milk on the table or floor. Heating works well, just dial up/down the wall thermostat. Sofa was plush, but too soft for us and the seat cushion too long for shorter people. Definitely need to get out walking to straighten the body up. Conclusion: really very good but some minor improvements could be made.

  • "The cottage looks nice, but the standard of housekeeping was poor, our clothes and slippers were continually covered in dog hairs from cushions and the floor mat."

we were unable to use the cooker as we were unable to operate it even though we followed the instructions we were unable to get it to heat up. The biggest problem for us was that there was water pressure releasing every 10 minutes throughout the night somewhere in the bathroom, which meant we did not get much sleep, so we decided to come home a day early.

Warm, comfortable, well equipped. Sofa bed very good as then the 2 of us had a bed each. Living room TV did not work, fortunately there was another in the bedroom. We could not get the electric oven to work The gas hob was fine.

  • "Better than previous apartment where the bathroom was quite restricted and bedroom was tight too."

This cottage a definite improvement. Would book this one again. Kitchen was good. 2 cupboards were full of glasses, too many really unless a large party was taking place. Therefore room for dry goods was restricted. But we managed to put most of glasses in one cupboard. Space in the fridge was wanting too, badly designed in the first place. Cooking facilities good, although we went out for most main meals.
