  • "Fabulous location, outstanding views over Holyhead mountain and harbour."

Lovely beach just 10 minute walk away. Lovely clean and spacious cottage with a wonderful large garden. Only things that could be improved are as follows 1.the uncomfortable furniture in the living room 2. the small tv 3. the gap in the fence that makes the garden not dog proof.

  • "Penrallt is a lovely property in a beautiful, quiet (but isolated) location."

There is a wonderful view out to sea from the lounge. It has a large lawn to rear which is a great space for sitting out when the weather is warm & dry. It is a 2 bedroom property and the kitchen had been equipped with a family or 4 adults in mind and we felt a few key items were missing such as any smaller saucepans or a non-stick pan. Other than that this is an excellent property and we would recommend it heartily for either summer or winter breaks

  • "When we read the July 2020 review on the website we were so concerned we tried to 'phone to discuss it."

On all three occasions we were in the system, queuing, for over forty minutes. We had to decide whether or not we still went Penrallt, but we really needed the break so we decided to go. We were forearmed so we took with us a large TV, padding for the sofa (a sun bed cushion), extra cushions, an outdoor table, Febreze, cleaning stuff and a potato peeler. However, the owner had addressed most of the issues highlighted in the poor review and there was a potato peeler in virtually every drawer! Brand new patio chairs were in place and the curtains had been cleaned (we think). Overall, given our concerns, we were really surprised and pleased with the cottage. However, the sofa is incredibly uncomfortable and thank goodness for the cushions we took with us. The TV is small, but not awful. On the plus side, the view is spectacular. We set our picnic table up in the window and ordered food to be delivered from Book a Cook Wales and we had the finest meals you could imagine. The cottage is just a ten minute walk to a lovely cove, the location is quiet and it is super warm. The beds are comfy and it was, overall, very clean. The owner had supplied binoculars which was a really thoughtful touch. Normally, we change cottages each year but, if that sofa is changed, we would happily book again. At the end of the day, at the price per week of this cottage, comfortable seating is not a big ask.

  • "The cottage was very damp and had a very damp/sour smell that the owners tried to cover up with several very strong plug in air fresheners."

Some of the kitchen drawers were very dirty as was the sign in the bathroom and the information folder. The sofa was very uncomfortable and not very clean. The cushions were dirty and stained and covered in white hair presumably for a previous occupants dog? The cottage has great potential but for the price we paid I expected more.

  • "The cottage is situated in an absolutely stunning area, the garden was huge and lovely."

It was the interior that lets it down and was not value for money. We had to have the windows open constantly to get rid of the sour damp smell. The beds were very comfortable but the living room is badly in need of refurbishment. The sofa was extremely uncomfortable and the curtains stank. For what we paid we were expecting at least a decent sofa. Also the outside area is really missing facilities to eat outside. There is no table and chairs, just an old bench that was very uncomfortable, a little stone coffee table and just 2 deckchairs for four people??

We are very sorry you were disappointed with your holiday cottage. It has been a successful holiday let for many years. It is a 200 year old listed Welsh stone cottage near to the coast and all that entails. The Owner runs a regular programme of repairs and refurbishment. Property Owner

  • "Spotlessly clean cottage."

Very comfortable beds. Whilst the sitting room furniture looks most attractive, as an elderly couple we did not find it comfortable. Multi fuel stove was excellent. The kitchen lacked basic cooking equipment boasting four colanders and only two very large saucepans, only one of which had a lid. It was well equipped with crockery and cutlery but lacked large glass tumblers and considering dishwasher use there was a shortage of mugs. We found the location excellent with wonderful views across to Holyhead and were fortunate to experience very good weather for the majority of our stay, which always “makes” a holiday.

  • "View is better than we expected, lovely beach just down the road."

splendid isolation but within a easy drive of facilities.Plenty of home comforts. Like a previous customer mentioned a larger TV would be nice for the large living room. The smell of damp did hit you when you walked in to the bedrooms but after a bit of airing it did seem better.

Our only slight niggle is kitchen cupboards need a sort out .. no potato peeler and rather crusty looking jars/hotch potch of cooking pots etc!

  • "This was our third visit to this cottage."

We like it for the big garden for the dogs and the wonderful views. When we arrived however the cottage was very cold and smelled of damp. The storage heaters had not been turned on so we put on the 2 convector heaters. The rest of the week we were warm but by the evening the cottage was cold and we used the converter heaters in the evening. This property would benefit from central heating as the emersion heater providing hot water had to be continuously boosted. The television has not been upgraded, fair too small for the big sitting room, have mentioned this on previous feedback.Would definitely not stay there in the winter.

  • "A lovely cottage with a big garden and a paddock."

Fabulous views out to sea. The beach is just a few minutes walk away. Stoke up the log burner for a super cosy evening. A well equipped kitchen. The garden is almost dog safe but not quite as the sheep are also able to squeeze under the fence at one point!

  • "Wonderful cottage with fantastic views."

.. loved the feeling of remoteness but was within easy driving distance of village shop and the coast. Only slight quibbles was kitchen equipment and recycling boxes... having said that would definately love to stay again and would rcommend!

  • "Absolutely fabulous."

Amazing views, from the property and garden. A fairly remote but peaceful location, so you definately need a car, but perfect for a relaxing break, even with a 12 year old. Extrememly well equipped kitchen, including washing up liquid, cling film and kitchen cupboard basics like salt, pepper, tea bags and coffee etc The only additional item we would suggest is a potato peeler. We wouldn't hesitate to book again. Excellent beaches near by and so much to do on Angelsey.

  • "Everything was first class."

Only complaint was the TV was too small.

Extremely cold. Not fit for a winter let with small children.

  • "The cottage was ina lovely spot and very nice inside with lovely crockery etc."

However, our break was spoiled because we couldn't get the house warm. The storage heaters were not enough in such cold weather, and the stove only heated one room (and was difficult to light - we both have stoves at home, so we knew how to use it). We did appreciate the electric blankets though.

  • "Lovely little cottage, we had a great time here."

Very relaxing, 10 minutes walk from the beach and easy parking outside. Lacking mobile phone reception and WiFi which is great if you want to get away from modern life. We’d definitley return here. A small snag was the heater were confusing to use.
