  • "Lovely comfortable cottage in a fantastic location."

Our only grumble was the WiFi which was very intermittent. Also the key safe is corroded and we couldn’t get in but my husband sprayed it with WD40 and that worked. Apologies for calling you in a panic and thanks for your quick response!

  • "Great place close to the beach."

Lovely comfortable home for a super week away. My only minor criticism is there was no cutlery rack in the dishwasher. We had to wash it up in the sink but in the grand scale of it all did not detract from an amazing property. Very dog friendly and beautifully presented. If we visit Anglesey again we will certainly look at staying here again.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Just a quick note to say there is a pull out tray at the very top of the dishwasher for cutlery. Generally, It can be a good idea to let Menai Holidays know early on in a stay if something isn't right as it can often be fixed quickly, like in this case, and might have saved some washing up! • "Really lovely cottage, in a great situation."

Accommodation flows nicely, with plenty of space for 2 families; with double beds/bathrooms at either end of connecting twin/single rooms, with separate staircases. Really warm and cosy. Good parking. Friendly welcome. Directions from main road not good (first left after the pub? signed Church Bay?) Steps to the beach only suitable for a tall, fit person (but a short, pleasant walk around the road). Nicely decorated, and fresh. Would recommend. Comments for action by owner: The fridge thermostat had failed, and so lost some food due to being frozen. Freezer very dirty - had to clean to use. Light bulbs in bathroom need replacing (2). Pillows are hard and lumpy. Toaster is useless (previously commented on) - a cheapie would do the job!

Full mop and bucket left in utility and bin in shower room hadn’t been emptied. We take pride in where we go and had 2 dogs yet I had to clean up in the garden from previous owners … one thing we would never leave as we know how important it is to take a dog with us. I did originally say 4 people were staying but only 2 of us stayed so we left the place better than when we arrived. Information was very good and location fabulous.

  • "What a beautiful location!"

! We arrived at Stabl Bach in the dark as we couldn't go in until 5pm. We feel this is fine in the summer months as it is light. We understand that with Covid that cleaning obviously takes more time, however in the winter when it is dark, we found it difficult negotiating the steps with luggage etc and finding the keysafe. That said, it is small criticism...once in, and settled, after a good night's sleep we awoke to see where we were and WOW!!! It is beautiful, the cottage is delightful, it is light and airy, and we wanted for nothing. We felt "at home". We can only reiterate a lot of the previous comments already made. The peace of the place is fantastic, having the beach to ourselves was wonderful, our dog loved it as did we. It was lovely to have walks straight from the house and the near proximity of the coastal path. Sadly because of a mud slide the coastal path steps collapsed on the Sunday evening of our stay so we couldn't go there, but it didn't stop us as there are plenty of other walks around and about. We are now home and missing the place so much that we are seriously considering booking again. We can certainly recommend Stabl Bach, especially for families as there is so much room. I would point out however that if you have a Houdini dog like we have and he/she is small, it is possible for them to escape under a gate and some fencing around the garden (which incidentally is massive and great for children and dogs alike). We had to watch our dog like a hawk because if he got a scent he would be off and there is livestock nearby...worth a consideration. A lovely peaceful place to unwind.

  • "Lovely cottage which was well equipped."

The layout was perfect for our group of two couples, two children and one single. The beach was a hit with the children, they loved collecting stones and shells. There are steep steps down to the beach from the garden so not really suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Just one thing to mention, when travelling to Stabl Bach, don't follow the postcode but use the owners directions for the last couple of miles, otherwise you'll end up down a dirt track in the middle of nowhere!

  • "We love the property for its setting, beautiful and isolated, and for its peacefulness and lack of tourists."

Having two staircases so that upstairs can be split into two private spaces suits us very well. There are two areas we found less pleasing. Firstly, the cooking range just seemed too complicated to deal with when looking forward to a relaxing holiday and so we relied more than we wished to on the microwave and eating out. Secondly, it seems very strange to have a good washing machine but bo tumble dryer. We did one load of washing but it took 3 days to dry inside on the airer as it was too windy to leave the airer outside when we left for outings. If a tumble dryer is not possible, what about an economical electric heated airer? Finally, though this wasn't much of a problem, a bigger kitchen bin would have been great

Very well appointed kitchen, even down to supply of dishwasher tablets (something usually absent). Can't emphasise enough the closeness and beauty of the beach. The garden is also very large (big bonus for kids and dogs), which perhaps isn't obvious from the listing. Only downsides were that wifi was a bit temperamental and in general a lot of the attractions we ended up going to were on the East side of the island, so we did a fair bit of driving (but that will come down to individual choices).

  • "Fantastic location."

Access directly from the garden to a pristine beach unfrequented by anyone other than the occasional coastal path walker. Our only complaint/constructive criticism is regarding the pillows. They were plentiful but all identical - medium to firm and so springy and thick that three out of our party of five couldn't sleep on them without neck ache. Luckily two of our party had arrived in a motor home with their own pillows so we all got a good night's sleep.

Other than that the cottage is in a fabulous location, a bit isolated and a little way from the shops, however I don't think that is to big an issue given the advantage of having a lovely cove a the bottom of the garden with fabulous sunsets.

  • "Considering that we had been notified of a later check in to allow for deeper house-cleaning to meet requirements for Covid-19, we were disappointed in the standards as there was evidence of fluff, bits of toy (not ours) and dirt behind/under the settees in the t."

    V. room, the rugs smell of dogs, there were dirty crock pots in the kitchen cupboards, and there was sand across the work surface in the utility room, even before we had unpacked. We reported that the range wasn't burning very hot, indeed had a yellow flame and was sooting up saucepans; that the dining room rug had been left up the wall higher that the skirting board; and that there was water pouring out of the shower unit in the walk in shower. The latter was dealt with in that we were notified that a plumber was to come out....they didn't however turn up, so wasn't resolved during our stay. The rug we moved ourselves, as it was a trip hazard and had prevented the door closing. The cottage is lovely and clearly a great location for family holidays. We will certainly look to book again. Many things you expect to work around when on holiday, because every property has its quirky features , but stating that the later check in time is to give housekeeping more time, is a massive inconvenience when it's not up to high standards that have previously been reported on reviews, and which were one consideration when choosing this property.

We eventually found it more by luck than judgement having stumbled across one of the way markers mentioned in guidance note. Mildly frustrating!! The cottage is very remote but wonderful, very spacious, quirky , cosy if not toasty, spotlessly clean , nicely decorated and carpeted and fully kitted out.
