  • "The cottage was beautiful and in a peaceful village location with great road connections to Anglesey, Snowdon and beyond."

It is decorated to an exceptional standard, spotlessly clean with a fully equipt kitchen. We did struggle to use the oven without instructions and ended up with grilled pizza which wasn't great but this could easily be overcome if instructions were made available in the welcome pack. Personally, I found the pillows on the bed to be quite flat and had to grab extra off of another bed and my partner found the bath towels to be too small at 6ft. But overall no major issues and we would happily return tomorrow if we could! Thank you for having us.

  • "A lovely stay at a well-kept, clean, and authentic Welsh cottage."

You can see the attention to detail in every room, from the skylights in the upper bedrooms to maximise the countryside-moonlight, to an abundance of logs and firefighters in the basket ready to welcome you. There is one bathroom which branches off the living area, however we didn’t find this to be too much of a fuss and surely is a logistical choice due to the history of the building. The cottage sits on a suburban street however is as quiet as if it were on its own, and is driving distance (10mins) to one of the biggest Tesco’s we’ve ever seen, slightly north. The back garden is kept incredibly neat and tidy, with a picnic bench for morning hot drinks and breakfast to be enjoyed as you overlook the forest. The two bedrooms upstairs have double beds and lots of space, and the downstairs single bed is big enough for one guest. All have wardrobes. A few improvements or amendments for suggested future guest experiences: the freezer inside was mostly out of use due to ice build-up. The log burner was full of ash when we arrived, which is just a little inconvenience that we didn’t expect after a long drive. The TV is placed awkwardly so it doesn’t service the entire rooms furniture; an adjustable wall mount would fix this. There’s a lot of pressure to save energy, which is understandable from a personal standpoint and for the environment, however as a paying guest, it doesn’t have as much charm. It became apparent, whilst waiting for the heating to kick in, that all of the radiators were set to zero. Again, not the end of the world, but another fiddly task that you don’t really want to after a long journey. We were encouraged to tidy up after ourselves and leave the place as we found it, however no materials to do so with, so we had to make do. The same with the washing machine advertised; a simple washing tablet or two for the stay would be a nice touch as guests looking to find a home from home for a weekend. Overall, a building you can’t fault in an idyllic location; a few minor changes would elevate the cottage from a 4.9 to a 5/5.

  • "The cottage was wonderful, well decorated with lots of amenities and well situated though transport is required from the cottage."

Very quiet and tranquil which helped us relax particularly in the evening’s. While there our television broke but the owners had it replaced within the hour, really great customer care and service. Only minor issue was bathroom door wouldn’t lock and we had brought my In-laws so the rule was, don’t try the door if the light switch was down. Had it just been us three I wouldn’t even mention the lock but as we were sharing we had to come up with a plan. Wonderful stay, will happily return in the future.

I have never stayed at a holiday cottage that has been so spotlessly clean. The owners had provided everything we could have thought of needing and more. The gentleman we called for the key arrangements was really friendly and helpful. I would totally recommend this cottage and won't hesitate to book again if we are returning to the area. Thank you.

The garden was brilliant and our 2 year old loved running around. The owners were great with their communication and very accommodating. Negative: The mattresses were not comfortable and we struggled to get a consistent night sleeps. The sofas feel like they're becoming flat after use. The dining area whilst nice, lacked cushions and you wouldn't want to sit at for extended periods of time.

  • "This was a really comfortable cottage to stay in (emphasis on really!"

), it was aesthetically pleasing and we found it easy enough to get to everything we had booked to do during our stay. The children loved the garden but we didn’t feel the layout was particularly child friendly (for a 3 year old) as there was a large step/ledge onto slates. We had a few minor issues including; the gate that lead from the garden to the drive/road didn’t lock (or stay closed), between the drive and the garden there was another partial fence we felt could have done with a gate to secure the garden too. Also there were no baking trays to cook on ( we bought some and left them there for future guests :) ) and there was food left in the freezer from a previous guest. Overall we had a really lovely time as it was a very comfortable and homely base to come back to after our days out!

Excellent base for exploring North Wales, just a short drive from the expressway going East West and the A5 going North South. Literally our only gripe was the double bed mattress comfort, could feel the springs and bounced quite a bit, at least needs a foam topper perhaps a higher quality mattress. Didn't get in the way of a fantastic holiday though, thank you!

  • "The cottage is well finished and looks like it has only recently been refurbished."

It has decent internet connectivity which can be an issue in Wales. The washing machine and dryer are an added bonus as not all places have these facilities.A good selection of crockery, glasses and decent plates etc.Excellent shower.Ideally located for things to see and visit in the North of Wales. Good outside area to have breakfast in the sun. The bad bits, the sofas in the cottage pictures are not the ones in the cottage, in fact the living room layout was completely different, I expect to have what is in the property description as that is one of the reasons it was booked in the first place. There is nowhere to put soap, shower gel, shampoo in the shower. The single room where our granddaughter slept is opposite the kitchen and the road is on the other side, the single glazed windows and traditional doors don't stop the noise so it can be a bit of an issue for families trying to get young children to sleep. No brochures or information apart from the brief information in the file. No games in the cupboard or recycling bin under the sink (both in the information pack). The only real bug bear for us was the Property Hand Back Policy, strip all the beds, clean the oven, clean the fridge, empty all the bins, basically clean from top to bottom before you leave at 10 . It doesn't leave a lot of time to get a shower, dressed, breakfast, pack your car etc before 10. You also have to put the bins out the night before, which we did, only for them not to be collected (large bin gets collected every 3 weeks, no idea when next due collection). Most people will clean what they have used so maybe it could be worded less like a list to a cleaning company or put in the booking information so that guests are aware.
