  • "Lovely Converted Barn The property is in a very rural and quiet setting."

The furnishings and finish are to a high standard. The lounge and kitchen are very thoughtfully laid out, and the settee being the best we have encountered in a rental property. It is worth mentioning that the electrically adjustable end's of the settee were a great addition. All of the usual everyday requirements are provided in the kitchen area, and we cooked several meals without any issues. The heating is underfloor and cannot be adjusted at a timed 20 degrees. There is a small oil filled electric heater with can be used for top up, as there is no fireplace. The bedrooms are tastefully finished, but small apart from the twin room. We were unsure if the comfortable double beds were small doubles! The twin room would benefit from wall light switch's so you do not have to get out of bed to turn the lights off. The En-suite is a toilet and sink only, with one bath-shower room for the whole property. In addition to the property, there is an orchard and barbecue for the use of guests. We were unable to use this facility due to the weather, but it would be lovely in the summer. There were a few niggles. No welcome pack was provided, no hooks to bedroom or bathroom doors to hang bathrobes and towels etc. The rear bedroom widows look out to a farm yard with farm machinery. On arrival generally, you are only allowed to use the property driveway to unload and load, parking is in a parking area at the end of the drive. If you wish to use the electric charger for the car, please note that this is at an additional cost. However, these issues would not prevent us from rebooking the property again. For eating out we would recommend The Boathouse in Red Wharf Bay, and Ann's Pantry in Moelfe and Beaumaris for fish and chips. Overall, we would recommend the property.

  • "A real home from home."

The description of the property was very accurate and everything was exactly as shown in the photographs. Loved the way the property had been furnished and the little additions such as old woodworking planes etc in the rafters were a very nice touch. Shame we couldn't guarantee the weather which was atrocious but we would definitely consider this for future breaks in the summer. The extra touches of milk in the fridge and Welsh cakes on the table for our arrival were most welcome.

We are glad you enjoyed Ty Gwennol and hope to see you back again Tony & Sue Property Owner

  • "Gorgeous, well equipped, recently renovated barn conversion."

Furnishings and fittings were to a high standard and the property looked exactly like the pictures. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and we were invited to make use of the orchard and help ourselves to the apples growing there. The property is in a rural location but is only a short drive away from Beaumaris and the Menai bridge. Well situated for exploring the island. Having 2 ensuite toilets was great since we were a group of 5. The property could probably benefit from having a 2nd shower since it has 3 bedrooms but this definitely wouldn’t detract me from returning to this accommodation.

Thanks for your comments and we are glad you enjoyed your stay... and the apples! Tony & Sue Property Owner

  • "This holiday property has been converted to a very high standard and the owners attention to detail in the finish was appreciated."

The oak beams in the roof are very striking and give this upside down house a very open feel. Bedding is very comfortable and the kitchen facilities very adequate for self catering. The property is well hidden in the countryside but only 1 minutes drive from the nearest village. There is virtually no traffic noise due to the secluded situation. I would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to spend time in Anglesey.

It's true we are in a very quiet part of Anglesey, yet still within easy reach of Snowdonia and Anglesey attractions. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Tony & Sue Property Owner

  • "The property was fantastic, we really enjoyed our stay there, and would definitely recommend it to anybody."

Pretty much everything you need is provided, and the property was spotlessly clean, comfortable, with ample space. It's set in quite a rural area of Anglesey, but still not too far from essential amenities, supermarkets and a lovely quiet beach at Llanddona. The use of the owners garden for BBQ's and to hang out your washing was a nice touch too. We didn't need to contact the owners for anything while we were there, but the interactions we did have with them, we found them to be a really lovely couple, and very friendly. The only thing I would say is needed, and this is me being really pedantic, is either frosted/obscured glass in the bathroom window, or a blind for privacy, especially as the bathroom is on the ground floor. But overall a superb property, in a beautiful part of the country.

We are glad that you enjoyed Ty Gwennol and the orchard garden. Just to clarify - the orchard garden with BBQ is private and for the exclusive use of guests and is separate from the owners garden nearby. The bathroom window is high up but we appreciate your comments and will arrange to have it frosted or obscured as soon as possible. Tony & Sue Property Owner

  • "Lovely barn conversion with great high end appliances and features."

The property is a great base for exploring Angelsey and north Wales. We had a day when the weather was dreadful but we were able to enjoy the day still with access to Netflix and other platforms which are not standard in other properties we have holidayed in. Tony and Sue are the owners and are there on hand if any help is required. We didn’t need anything as a useful guide for all the appliances etc was available in the barn. They kindly left us some apples from the orchard which was a welcome gift. The surrounding are peaceful with views of the hills, sheep and cows. We would 100% recommendation the barn.

Thanks for the comments Adam. Hope to see you again some time! Property Owner

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
