The peace was only disturbed by the boiler which was located in the roof space above the bedroom and it fired up at various times throughout the night even though the central heating was down low, I assume it is a combi boiler like ours which does this to keep the water hot. Although I am a light sleeper. Also as someone with a fan oven and induction hob it took a bit to get used to the basic oven and hob. A few little touches would improve the facilities greatly, like proper cutlery rather than the picnic style ones and a simple instruction sheet for the TV / sky box rather than using trial and error to figure out how they worked. Overall a nice property that we will probably return to.

Very quiet location which was superb. Owner was friendly & helpful but not intrusive. About a 10 minute drive into Benllech where there is a small Tesco Express which was always well stocked. All other parts of the island within easy driving distance.

"The outdoor area wasn't enclosed and I think if you are offering pet friendly then it should be."

Also the outdoor furniture was unkempt and dirty - a pity as they weather was lovely. We felt that the fact that the cottage is completely overlooked by the owners house should have been pointed out on the listing. When we got there the heating and hot water were off - the owner sorted it out but it would have been nice to have it going. When we got there we picked up 10 dead flies around the cottage and we kept finding them all weekend - really unpleasant!

Thank you for your feedback. You may recall that as this was the beginning of lock down I did urge you not to come, particularly as I did not have access to my normal housekeeper and grounds support. The issue you raised were because you came when the place should have been empty. As the local doctor setting up the covid unit in Bangor Hospital I struggled to attend all your needs but can assure you this was due to an unprecedented time due to the start of the pandemic. I think if you would have taken the refund and rebooked, as I advised then you would have had an experience of our very high standard as we always aim to deliver. Property Owner

"We liked the property very much, and it was comfortable and in a lovely location, but sadly on our arrival, the property was cold, as the central heating wasn't on, and we didn't know how to put in the times of heating that suited our needs etc, so we had to keep putting on the 'over-ride' button and switching it off."

Instructions on how to use the central heating would be nice in the cottage. One of the hand towels left on the bed for us was damp, and hadn't been dried properly, so once the heating was on and warm, we had to dry it on the radiator. So this wasn't a great welcome really. But the cottage we couldn't fault.

The location was excellent with large supermarket less than 3 miles away and fantastic country walks on the door-step. The beaches are amazing and also within easy reach. We would highly recommend this cottage and will definitely book again

"Cottage is absolutely lovely, clean and tidy, the only draw back is that it is not fenced off so my furry companion couldn't go outside without being on a lead it's quite open, putting a fence up would also make it a bit more private."

"Hi this was our second visit to this fabulous barn conversion."

We chose this again because it was central to all the supermarkets in the town, and central to all the coastal resorts. The facilities in the cottage was like home from home, the garden is so large and private, ideal for our two dogs. We are planning on returning next year that's how pleased we were.

The rural setting of Swallow Cottage was very soothing but within easy access of all necessary amenities. There were also lovely quiet roads and footpaths close by for local walks.

"When we walked through the door it was a Wow this is nice."

We settled in , there was everything you needed it was seriously a home from home. It was very well situated, the town with all the shops you require 8 minuets away and good sandy beach 10 minuets away, we toured the island. And found so many different bays. We will definitely be using Swallow Cottage again. Full credit to the owner.

"Swallow Cottage was one of the nicest holiday properties we have stayed in, it was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped."

We chose it as it was fairly central to explore Anglesey and we were delighted that nowhere on the coast took more than half an hour to drive to. Supermarkets and shops in Llangefni were very convenient. The owner lived nearby and was kind and helpful without being intrusive. The cottage felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere, so quiet and peaceful that all we could hear were the birds singing and the sheep in the nearly fields, yet we were only 5 minutes drive from the town. We had a lovely holiday and would definitely return to this cottage again in the future.

The property

Swallow Cottage is located in the pretty village of Talwrn on Anglesey.

It is a bright and spacious, open planned bungalow.

It is the perfect space to kick back and relax after a day’s exploring in North Wales.

The open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room is a fantastic and spacious area.

The vaulted ceilings and generous amount of light that floods into the room makes it a great space to relax and enjoy your time at the cottage.

The compact kitchen has everything that you could need including an electric oven and hob, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle and toaster.

There is a dining table for four and a spacious, comfortable seating area with log burning stove, TV and DVD player.

Comfortable sofas are set around a wood burning stove. There is a cosy double bedroom and a bathroom with shower, loo and hand basin.

There is a gravelled area at the front of the property with outdoor seating and parking for up to 2 cars.

Swallow Cottage is surrounded by lush countryside, with an abundance of footpaths right on your doorstep and yet only a short drive to the sandy shores of Red Wharf Bay and Benllech.

Pentraeth is a small attractive village on the banks of the River Nodwydd on the north-east coast of Anglesey. It has a village church that dates back to the 12th century and is located between Llanddona beach and Red Wharf Bay, which has over 4.5 miles of sandy beach. Red Wharf Bay’s Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and provides safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 6 miles away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris which boasts a 13th century moated castle, excellent shops, pubs, restaurants, bistros and museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. This is a great location on the east coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, yet only six minutes from the Britannia Bridge to access the mainland.
