The surrounding views were stunning and we were made to feel really at home by Chris. We couldn’t find many faults with the property apart from a lack of lighting in the back yard area and a drainer rack missing for the kitchen sink. We have all said we would love to return for future holidays. Thanks again From The Tyrrell’s

The bbq and garden games were a great bonus. The owner is more than welcoming and readily contactable in case of any queries. Do not let the beach access deter you from booking; no issue at all and the property can also be accessed on foot if your daily activities cross with high tide. We stayed with young children who already ask when we can return. Thank you Chris.

We were blessed with a week of glorious sunshine which meant we spent the whole week outside. Lovely to sit out and watch the sunset and eat outside. Slight irritation of lots of partying teenagers just beyond the perimeter fence every night, drinking until late evening but nothing to do with the property. All as described and comfortable beds. Could do with a couple of sun beds or deck chairs to relax outside.

Every care had been taken to provide all that is necessary to make our holiday special. The house was warm, clean and well equipped. Daily phone calls to ensure we were ok. Location was private rather than isolated. The beach drive is only about 200 metres and we managed it in normal cars.

However and im sad to say that it wasn't very clean the floors, tables and under beds where dirty ,there was stains on sheets . The downstairs bathroom wasn't very nice the pipes where all showing and it was a mess . The plaster on the walls was all bubbling the carpet on the stairs was dirty . For such a beautiful cottage really does lack TLC . I text to ask what we do with keys on departure and nobody got back to us .I don't think this cottage has the facilities for 9 people but does sleep 9. It makes me very sad to say this as we had wonderful time and the people where lovely.

  • "We had a lovely week at Bwthyn Siliwen."

We loved the location however, we were disappointed with this property. We felt that we needed to clean the floors and some surfaces when we arrived. We felt like we were a nuisance to Chris when we arrived despite phoning the day before and and hour and a half before arrival to give eta. There was no information guide with check out procedures, bins etc so I needed to phone and it took more than one phone call to get through. Despite the listing being accurate regarding access, the reviews on the website were misleading which made me over confident about access. It is not just the tides that make access difficult but the road down to the beach road. We arrived in the dark, this should be advised against. The downstairs bathroom was not finished or clean. The upstairs bathroom was very dirty. The outside areas had not be swept clear. There must be so much history to this property but there was no information pack to let us know. Matress covers were stained upstairs and the property needs a lick of paint and a good clean. Behind furniture and skirting boards were dirty. The kitchen table was sticky. Maybenit was because we came at the tail end of the season but we had booked way in advance so our arrival was not a surprise.

  • "The property is very well equipped."

The owner was on hand if needed. There was a very generous welcome pack waiting for us upon arrival. The situation of the cottage was fabulous, set on the banks of the Menai Strait and very secluded. There was a generous garden area with BBQ and seating unfortunately the weather during our stay was chilly and sadly we weren’t able to take advantage of these facilities. The cottage is a short distance from the Menai bridge with easy access to Anglesey. The access road down to the cottage is not for the nervous driver! It is narrow and quite steep, once down the narrow lane you have to drive over a small area of beach. For our initial drive to the cottage the owner drove in front of us in his pick up, reassured that if he could get down then we could! We have two 4x4 and managed fine! The cottage is fabulous if you are interested in wildlife & walking as there are walks and wildlife a plenty from the door. There were 7 of us in our group, of 3 generations and we all had a great time at the Old Bath House.

Perfectly secure for our dog and for the kids to play out. House is very well equipped, like home from home. You get the evening sunset and we were lucky enough to get to use the bbq as well as the log fire inside all in one week! The Tap & Spile pub is walkable, great for watching sports & food is good. A more special restaurant is Sage in Menai bridge, which was delightful. Plenty of supermarkets in Bangor to get a shop. No issues with the high tide if you keep an eye on the levels on the app. We passed without an issue in a Tesla taking it easy. So much to do nearby, great location for exploring Anglesey across the bridge, Snowdownia, boat trips or just spending days watching the sea. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks so much to the very helpful owner Chris.

The location & views where excellent. The house was 'kitted out ' with all we needed including a Christmas tree which was a nice surprise. The log burner was utilised despite the property being very warm. The garden was fenced which allowed our dog to roam around with the knowledge he couldn't wander off, From the house there were a number of possible walks to undertake (if your car was cut off by the high tide). Shops were within walking distance via one of the most spectacular views of the Menai Straights & Bangor Pier. Chris was very accommodating & suggested a 'high tide' app which served us well. We would recommend this holiday property.

  • "We had a great time during our stay at Bwthyn Siliwen."

My Seat Leon got down to the house fine when the tide was out. I would only attempt this if you are a confident driver with a fair amount of experience in driving in adverse weather conditions (very bad rain, snow, ice etc). My brother has a Vauxhall Mokka and we had to help him out because he isn't used to driving on such terrain. Also, you really must check the tides. There are parking spaces on nearby roads and up at a viewpoint by the Eisteddfod Gorsedd Stones. From the stones, it's a 5 minute walk through a small wood and down some steps to the house. Walking into Bangor takes around 15 minutes. There is a Morrisons pretty near by. The owner, Chris, was very welcoming and helpful. He took me down to show me where the property was and how to get there. He also showed me around a few places where you could park and things. There was a big welcome basket in the kitchen on arrival with bread, cakes, milk, butter, and Prosecco. A very lovely touch. The house is great. Seven people and a dog managed to fit in just fine. It warms up quickly with the heating on. We had to move some chairs from other rooms to all fit in the lounge but it was fine. The house is very well equipped. I've never stayed somewhere with so many drinking glasses! The kitchen is good and we made a roast dinner on the Sunday without too much trouble. There is a BBQ that we used outside, and a firepit, which was great. Ideal place for a get-together with privacy and "free reign". We all loved the beautiful views over the Menai Strait (and were lucky that the weather was so good while we were there!). Gorgeous place for a morning cuppa' and an evening glass of something. Very peaceful. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again.

  • "Stunning house in a fabulous location on the Straits."

Welcome gifts were a lovely surprise and the house is furnished to the absolute highest standards. We were expecting more privacy with the house being aways from other properties and roads, but there is a walker's path in front of the house which was busy in the day time and some local youngsters do congregate in the evenings close by to the house on the beach. It's just something to be aware of if you're seeking isolation, because it seems like that's what the house offers, but in summer it is relatively busy. Walkers were friendly though!!! We got used to the access across the beach being difficult and were lucky enough to be there when high tides cover the entire beach, so were able to cross the sand in both of our cars. A 4x4 would certainly be advantageous, but, as long as you don't drive too slowly, it is manageable for confident drivers. We did get stuck once though and had to be given a push, so it's something you have to get used to driving across, which comes with practise after a while. The beach that the house is next too is not a sandy beach to sit and enjoy, more of an esturine one which is largely mud and pebbles, but it is in a great location for access to Anglesey and the beaches there of which I can recommend Aberffraw in the south for a less crowded beach, but it is a bit of a walk.... lovely there though!

This was way beyond our expectations and we were very grateful. The Old Bath House is a nice cottage in an exceptional location and potential guests should not be put off by the tides which restrict vehicular access at certain times because access is via the beach. Also whilst a 4 X 4 vehicle may be an advantage most cars would, with care, be able to cross the beach. We had a very good week and thoroughly enjoyed the Old Bath House
